*bump*
There are heaps of threads about EPO, but I can't actually find anything that says what doseage to be taking. Everyone says take 1-2 capsules & insert 2-3 capsules per day or some variation of that. BUT you can get capsules in varying strengths. So does anyone know what sort of a dosage in mg you should be taking orally & internally?
*bump*
I took 3 x EPO's per day at 1000mg each in the last few weeks of my pregnancy but never inserted them
Sarah, I took 1000mg too. 1-2 orally and 3 inserted (started with 2 then increased it in the last few weeks to 3).
HTH
Sarah, I pretty much did the same as Willow. And I "think" you will only find 1000 mg capsules. Atleast that's all I could ever find.
Enjoy hun and remember to wear a pad. It get's messy![]()
Aah ok I thought I saw 500mg ones.
Trish I was surprised I did it last night before bed to save on the leakage & there seriously was none. But that was with one & I had a liner on just in case anyway.
Interesting!
Ive got 1000mg ones and will insert one tonight and see how I go.
Ive been taking 3 a day - morning, noon and night for the last 2 days.
When can you start using it? Is it alright from 35 weeks?
I usually reccomend that you take 2 orally per day and insert 2-3 at night
Jodi
Yes you can start them at 35 weeks
Thanks everyone
I now have another question.....
When everyone talks about leaking, I was expecting it to be oily, would that be right? Overnight & this morning I've had heaps of what I could only describe as EWCM, would that be for real or is it likely to just be from the EPO?
Sarah, it's sort of oily, but it is also mixed in with your CM, so it sounds pretty normal to me hun.![]()
why do people take EPO?
EPO contains prostoglandins - basically the same stuff that semen contains, and what they use to induce you with. It helps to soften your cervix and your tissues. So if you have had a previous episiotomy or cervical surgery it will help to soften that too.
So basically, it's just another way of helping your body to prepare for labour and birth![]()
The idea is that the prostogladins in the EPO help to get your cervix ready for labour![]()
Do you have to buy special insertable ones or are they just the everyday ones that you take internally?
You insert the same ones that you take orally
OMG I have had 2 bubbas and had never heard of this before
The things you learn hey - more like - the things us women do, inserting capsules LOL
Might sound crass, so sorry - do you insert the 2 - 3 capsules at the same time - um, how far?
Yes insert 2-3 at the same time as close to your cervix as you can
