    engaged already?

    Hi
I had my OB appt yesterday and she said she could only feel 3/5 of the baby's head (last fortnight she could feel all of it). Does this mean baby is engaging already? Isn't it a bit early?? I'm 33 weeks tomorrow. I can't remember last time - but what is about normal for bubs to start engaging?
    Thanks

I was fully engaged with DS at 32 weeks. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

    Just a question...

Does it make a difference as to when labour starts depending on whether bubs is engaged early?
Ie. if bubs is engaged early does it mean that labour will start early?

Sorry if it's a stupid question, I'm just not sure!!

My first engaged at 28 weeks and was fully engaged by about 35weeks and i went 1 week over. So definatly no indication of when labour will start. My second was engaged from 30 weeks and fully engaged by 38 weeks.

    Hey LG

first time babies are more likely to engage around 30ish weeks...but will pop in and out of the pelvis until about 38weeks when they engage before labor (known as lightening)

your muscle tone in your first pregnancy aids in baby engaging, simply as the muscles hold shape and elasticity...with subsequent babies muscle tone and elasticity is not as much of a factor

babies also like to out their head in the pelvis as it is comfy for them...a lovely baby shaped head space

    hope this helps
