Swollen feet are a common sympton in third trimester - none of my shoes fit properly anymore - however (and keeping in mind that I am no doctor) if they have swelled rapidly and without cause you should probably see your doctor to have your blood pressure and urine tested.
Hope it is OK!
Yup mine swelled like nothing else (and was totally like play doh!!) and I just kept an eye on my blood pressure and for any other signs that can mean .. uh.. can't remember.. someone else will know the name of it!!!! I'm expecting to do the same this pregnancy as I seem to be a person that retains a lot of fluid (I prefer to say fluid instead of fat)
Thanks
I've had swollen feet before but they are dinting in and taking a while to come back to normal shape... have you (or anyone else on here) had this before?
okthanks guys i dont feel like such a freak now
It was DF that noticed and he was like "WOAH! Your feet are freaky!" lol
Lol yeah - i called mine elephant feet - and don't worry they get worse once you give birth! :P
Like Aricyn's Mum said - if it corresponds with High BP or protein in your urine it can indicate signs of pre-eclampsia (sometimes referred to as toxemia) which can bring on early labour and is not healthy for you or baby. Best sign to watch out for increase in BP is increased irritability - although i don't know where my doctor got off telling that, hello im pregnant my hormones are naturally all over the place!![]()
Yep so normal. Mine went back to normal after I gave birth but they were exactly like playdoh, press them and they would dent!!
Ditto what Shell said!
It can often be referred to as Pitting Oedema (i think) - which is pretty much all the swelling and then when you push on them the dint stays there for a while. I had it too and stressed out because it came on quickly, but i got my bp & urine checked and everything was a-ok.
Keep your feet up - above the heart line and the swelling should come down, and drinking more fluids - water (ironic i know), will also help.
