No labour yet! Have just got home from my hosp appt. Had another s&s and I am 3cm dialated, very very easily stretching to 4cm and cervix is .5cm long which is great so almost completely thinned! So all good to go. I went on the ctg for a bit which showed bubs is very happy.
Ob wasn't sure when to next book me in seeing a s I didn't want to book induction as dr's clinics (seeing the drs for appts just cause overdue but still going through the midwife group for labour) are mon, tues, thurs and mon is public holiday so tues would be 17days over and she said probably should have ctg's every 2nd day so I'm booked in for thurs and she said that we could come up with a plan then for when next to come in etc. She also suggested trying castor oil so have bought some on the way home and just had a dose, that is one of the yuckest things ever!! Its notthe taste more the texture that is sooo gross coats ur mouth (I took the recommended 30mls)
Chickybabe, I put down ur new guess but would be very happy with ur guess for today!! hehe
Jas - I have always been told to avoid castor oil becasue it dehydrates and gives you the runs!!! I wouldn't bother hun. You've got heaps of excellent pre labour signs already..Go the EPO on the cervix if anything. Sorry to be blunt but I don't want you to be sick going into labour
Yes avoid the castor oil. I used EPO and it worked well but your cervix is already almost half way there. When you go into labour I would get to the hospital quickly because you might have a really quick active labour with all this pre-labour that you have had.
One day closer! YAY!
yea it is partially the diahhorrea that gets it to work. The obs said basically i need some cx or the head to get down lower to get more on my cervix, because even though good to go it is still pretty high and sometimes if u r a big constipated the head can't get down so the clear out helps. I had had some diahhorrea on the days around easter sunday but since then have gotten slightly constipated sorry for tmi. Not bad or anything but I am usually vey very regular so I think perhaps it may help. It meantion this in the natural induction article on here that it can work if this is the case.
Its been 3hrs since I took the 30mls and have just gone to the bathroom and it wasn't diahhorrea what I passed a bit softer but I'm thinking maybe those signs suggest that it may actually help. I'll be very careful with drinking extra water etc
Alibaby, I hope ur right an I do have a quick labour, but not too quick..maybe that sounds wierd to some lol but I want to be able to enjoy the experience and not have it fly right by too quick lol or be just really full on out of control the whole time iykwim
Jas - I always thought a quick labour was good until I had one!!! DD2 came so quickly that I didn't remember much. I think a quicker labour that you can control to a point is the best iykwim.
well ladies, looks like I'm in labour cx started 3.45 about every 5mins or so not bothering timing did the first few now they r just pretty regular to make me think this is almost certainly the real thing and I'm just getting things together last things for labour bag and going with it.
