Hi Lozza

I had SPD and that progressed into Diastasis (there are tonnes of threads around here with me moaning about the pain) I was wheelchair bound for the last month of pregnancy, and I own a lovely collection of pelvic belts and a walking frame.

If anything SPD or DSP makes giving birth easier, as it widens the pelvic canal. Just make sure you know how far you can separate your legs.

It is often caused by malpositioning (DD2 was posterior and DD3 was facing my left leg) so having the extra space makes it possible for you to birth naturally. I was told that I could have 4-6 months recovery, but I was walking (gingerly) on day 3 post birth. DD3 is now 4.5 months old and I can do long distance walks and only have a mild ache by the end of it. I have pretty much full range of movement back.

Get some panadeine, Ice and a dishwasher. Make sure you do as little heavy lifting as possible (make someone else do the washing) and rest as much as you can.
