    Elephant Feet.

Okay - don't get me wrong i know a had been carrying a bit of fluid just because my legs get soft imprint things really bad from say resting again an object - but today my feet have ballooned. Ridiculously. And i've been sitting on my butt all day, it's not like i've been doing anything.
I got up to check the mail a couple of hours ago and realised that my feet fold into my legs. Like all the fat blown up bits fold together... It's come on so quickly.
I rang my mum to talk about it but she had gone to bed (i felt so bad about waking her up i burst into tears and now im an uncontrollable emotional mess).
She's told me to call my midwife in the morning and go have a urine test done (i didnt at my last appointment and lisa told me to watch out for fluid accompanied with cervical/hip pains because of pre-eclampsia) so i guess i will.
She also sent me another message now saying maybe i should call delivery and see waht they say they might recommend going in for observation?
Im sure its nothing (even though it could be something) but seeing as im hormonal im now an uncontrollable mess.

Awww it horrible isnt it. I had to wear thongs from 16 weeks because I literally couldnt wear any other shoes. As yours has come on so fast though, I woulb be inclined to go get a BP check, just in case. Were you sitting with your feet up or down? If you were sitting for a long period of time and they were down it could just be that the fluid pooled in that time. Try to sit with your feet up as much as you can to ease it up hun and let us know how you go.

Ash sweety, call the midwives. I'd be getting urine and BP checked. I read in our BB thread that u r having headaches too. I'm worried u might be expiriencing Pre-eclampsia. I think u need to get checked. I had it with #1 and it developed very suddenly. A week or so in hosp and they induced me as it only gets worse untill birth. It's not goodfor u or bubs so I'd wanna know asap. Goodluck honey. But please, call ur hosp and get checked. And take it easy other than that.

Well with the swelling i'd also been having headaches all the time, but not persistent. Just on and off all day. And when they are persistent panadol makes them bugger off. I've also had an earache this morning and i generally feel sick but i think that's the heat and me not eating. The swelling went down overnight - but the simple walking to and from the toilet makes them gigantic again. I don't think my fingers or face are swollen though. Maybe i should try put my engagement ring on and see if its any more difficult than normal-!

I have a clinic a two minute walk for here but they wont take new patients and i didnt want to bugger around with public transport and walking in the heat to get to the hospital.

I did call the midwives they took down some info and added to my file in case i go in later - she's said she doesn't think it's "necessary" but if i have my doubts and worries then they're happy for me to pop in when i can get there. She said that moving house over the weekend, because i was on the go all the time, actually resting yesterday is what may have bought it on - she said that also if im having movement from bubby still it should be ok - but i cant tell the difference between bubby and BH anymore so i don't know.

Even if it's 2am when i crack and can't take it anymore (likely as im a hormonal mess today), i can still go to hospy, so im putting my feet up for the day. In saying that my headache has come back and im grumpy as all heck and just want Anthony to come home from work and take care of me.

I have big weekend planned this weekend (its ant's 21st dinner tomorrow night - and baby shower and bbq planned by my girlfriends on sunday - which is all back and forth travel to melbourne) and i really cant be bothered and want to skip out on all of it.

Oh and Katkins - i realised i've thought that your name is Kat for the last ages and only just realised that you're Kerrie. I'm sorry! I've called you Kat so many times in our belly buddies thread.

Ash, don't worry hon. I'm used to ppl calling me Kat hehehe. My name is Kerrie Atkins so katkins is my nick. My daughters nick is Kat cause she's Kaitlyn. It doesn't matter. I always wanted to be known as Kat, My middle name starts with an A so I always wanted to marry someone with a T for last name. Nope, I fell in love and married an Atkins. But it all worked out well hehehe. I still get kat and now my daughter gets it too. hehehe

There's a lot of Kats around today, just by the by - my DD's name is Katrina but I call her Kittykat.

Ashlea - my feet ballooned too and I don't know if this works pre-labour but after I had my baby they told me I had to elevate my feet so to literally put my feet up, not take it easy sitting on the couch but to get a stool and get them UP, UP, UP. OK, I think I've made my point LOL.

Anyhow, once I did that I literally lost 8kg overnight. I swear to God, it was like a miracle. I kept weighing myself every hour and reporting back to my DP - "down another 500g" etc. etc.

Get Ant to pamper you definitely darl.

Good to see you back on here.
