My DD has attended 3 private schools (she is nearly 16) since 1999. All Anglican Girls' Schools. We've taken her out for several days here and there. Short holidays interstate etc. We told the schools why and there was never an issue. Of course you still have to pay the fees. But I've heard of families taking girls out to go abroad for weeks at a time and never heard anything said against it. I've worked at one of those schools too. I cant imagine why they would ... unless maybe it was for a term... i think if a child is out for a whole term the dept of education has to be notified and a program of set work put in place.
