What happens when you move state?

thanks, that answers my question well enough. As I said moving isn't actually on the cards at this point in time. I just wanted to know what would happen if it was.

He would probably go into grade 1 as normal.

I find the notion that he will be made to repeat a grade laughable since the QLD system is one of the most backward (and out of kilter with other states) in Australia. Sorry don't mean to offend anyone one but as a Defence family it's a real sticking point that some states just won't get with the program. Oh while I'm having a vent I'll b!tch about them scoofing all the water out of the MurrayDarling before anyone else gets a chance. BUT they do grow nice strawberries in winter .

I knew someone who did this. They actually skipped a grade when they went up there. From memory i dont think they did an assessment on them either.

Yeah see i think I a friend of mines son skipped a grade too, I will have to ask her.

They only bought out all the changes to Qld Education in 2006. The Student Data Transfer Note is now a nationwide scheme to help it may it easier to transfer from school to school, or interstate.
From what I read, they've done a lot of the changes so they're in line with other states. Funny how everyone bags Qld schools so much, yet they're now doing what other states are doing.

I think its still differnt with the change over from primary to high school, isn't QLD the only state that primary is till yr 7?
