Wow babies growing like weeds, teeth, moving,rolling around, just going way tooo fast:doh: Yes just one short year ago, and I was hoping that I was "up the duff" but trying to not get to get too into it after 3 MC's and 18 months trying, then to find early Jan that we were expecting again and the rollercoaster of a journey began....resulting in a gorgeous Poppy.:confetti:

I remember this time last year I had just been told I would have to go through IVF to get pregnant. Then in the middle of January found out I was actually pregnant (Molly was born 4 weeks early).

Well last night Molly had the biggest screaming fit. Nothing we could do would calm her down. I felt so bad. She seems happier today and I just put her to bed after she fell asleep on the floor.

I managed to go to the shops last night to get the last of our shopping for Christmas. We are going to SIL house so only have to take desserts and drinks.

hehe I feel kind of silly now gettinng so excited about Molly moving. Anyone with any ideas on how I can get her to go on her tummy more?

Donna don't feel silly for being excited about Molly on the go, it is:dance:exciting, I can't wait for Poppy to start rolling, laughing etc, but at the same time want it to slow down, cause you don't get those firsts again. Be excited hun!!!!!!! You can buy a mat for tummy time, it comes with a roll for them to lie on, Big W has them for under $20, have a look on ebay, often are listed there and you can see what they are about. Don't buy it there though, every one I have seen listed makes more than a new one????

Liberty is getting heaps chubby, little rolly polly with her cankles. So cute!! she's 5.65kg now :) little fatty put on over 400g in the last fortnight!! - since i started alternating bottlefeeds/booby

can't believe it about the pregnancy thread either, this time last year I was all mopey and depressed that my SIL was pregnant and after TTC most of the year I still wasn't. I didn't find out I was pregnant until late January (my periods were always all over the place so it wasn't strange for it to be late). It's amazing what can happen in a year.

donna i would be over the moon if liberty did that, you have every right to be excited! it's hard to get her to have tummy time now that she can roll from her tummy to her back. i haven't used a special mat, just brightly coloured quilts on the floor and i have toys that she can reach for (not that she's going to reach for them but its something for her to aim at and look for). if you do want to offer the extra support, you can roll up a small towel or terry nappy under their chest. another cute option is to lay back on the bed with bubby on your chest and let them push up to look around.

Wow a new thread for us and a new thread for sep next year. That's crazy. This time last year I didn't know i was pg, we hadn't been trying just dtd and bam! I found out on the early Jan after a head ct and an MRI. Wow I love thiking about when we found out. The excitement!

Well we had a nice time in Noosa, Em was an angel on the plane. she slept most of the way up and back.
We are looking forward to christmas, there seems to be so many presents under our tree. My birthday was nice to, I got a lovely locket off DH I have put a pic of Emily inside, I need one of him so I have them both with me all the time.

I have started Emily sleeping in her cot in her room during the day. She sleeps well in there. Not ready for her to go in at night tho. I like having her next to me.

I can't believe our bubs are enarly four months old...its crazy.

Donna I am glad Molly is better today! It's not nice when they are upset and you can't work out why or how to fix it :( Might it have been a tummy or bum pain?? Ashton sometimes screams and the only thing I can put it down to is wind pain :( I think you should be excited!! I was when Ash started pushing himself on his tummy, in fact I came in the thread and bragged lol It is very exciting when they reach their milestones!! Try getting her on her tummy naked and getting down with her so she can see you. I found my other 2 boys hated being on their tummies with a nappy on, don't know why but they did :)

Pam I hope you have a great Chrissy! Poppy is 1 day younger than Ashton hehe

Lol aren't chubby babies the best!! Liberty sounds so cute :) She put on a decent amount didn't she! Ash puts that on reguarly, he's such a boof haha

Eej! I am SO jealous! Noosa would be lovely to visit! I am glad Em was good on the plane!! What a sweet gift from DH!

I also can't believe our babies are almost 4 months! It seems like yesterday I found out I was expecting and getting excited about another baby!! Ashton is rolling, laughing and pushing along the ground! He plays with his toys, sucks all his clothes and blankets and loves to bite my finger. He is growing SO fast, in 1's already!! 8.5kg and 70cm long!! Such a cutie, I am still so in love with him :)

Christmas is exciting this year!! Ash has lots of toys! We have heaps of toys but nothing really age appropriate, so he has some toys that are just for him :) Santa brought the boys a little blow up pool so I hope xmas day is nice enough that they get to swim in it, knowing Tassie it will rain :rolleyes:

He got his bumbo today! I went out and got the tray too so he can play with his toys on it. He loves sitting up and playing and being at the same level as the boys :)

Mel- Wow Ashton is in 1s already! He is a full 2 kgs heavier than Emily and 8 cm longer. I weighed her today and she is 6.5kg and 62 cm. I plotted her on the graphs in the blue book and she is spot on the middle blue line or just below. My GF has an 8 month old that only weighs 8kg, they are actually worried about her as she isn't putting on weight. Love the pics...Ashton is very cute!

I just wanted to stop in quickly in case I don't get back in tomorrow.

My father and stepmother arrived this afternoon and will be here for a couple of weeks. I'm so pleased that they'll be here for Christmas. I would have been very sad if Matthew's first Christmas had been without family around.

This time last year I was watching my FF chart and hoping with all my heart to see two lines. How lucky we have been. :)

So how was everyones first Christmas?? Ashton had a BALL!! Was great having it here this year because he went to sleep at his normal times in his cot so wasn't cranky :)
He loves his new toys!! I got him this dome which he kicks an grabs things and yells and all in ... its great!

Mel- we bought Emily the same thing! I had bought it in July on sale. I'd nearly forgotten about it. We bought her an activity elephant as well. She has had a great time playing with it.

Ashton's little santa suit was ADORABLE!! He looked so cute!!

we had a great Christmas, she had lots of short naps which was good as she was getting very tired out from everyone wanting to hold her.

i got a hot milk bra from my sister - yay! she's got good taste :D my mum also bought me some new swimmers as i'm taking liberty to swimming lessons in a few weeks time. my mum bought me a present from liberty too - some natio stuff as well as other bits and pieces that i was given this year. hope you guys all got spoilt too!

Glad to hear that everyone's bubby's first Christmas went well and that most of you were able to spend it with family and friends - and yummy food too!!

Hey girls, glad everyone had a great Chrissy! Both the girls got terribly spoilt. Ashlyn had a good time with lots of people to admire her, but she is really teething poor thing. I didn't have any teething relief at my parents place so I ended having to rub her gums with ice. Did the trick though.

Hi ladies I've just been reading about the facebook breastfeeding protest on BB.
Apparently they have been removing photos of breastfeeding under the guise its "obscene" all the while I joined the protest group even tho I'm an expresser. I'd be BFing if I could. Mel I added you as a friend.

Good morning everyone

Well, not so good morning here. I'm sitting here after another night of broken sleep wondering how everyone else is coping? Am I the only not getting a decent sleep? Last night Ashlyn woke up at 10pm, 1am, 4am and then 5.30am. After that I gave up, she went back to sleep but I decided to do some housework instead - less frustrating. I know she can sleep longer because she has gone a couple of nights only waking once, but she seems to need everything to be just right to sleep, ie tummy full, nappy clean, not to hot/cold etc.... It can still take an hour to settle her at night.

Sorry for the ramble, just feeling a bit down after listening to people at Christmas talking about friends babies who sleep through from very young, girls that lost weight and look fantastic after having babies, all the things I don't want to hear when I'm exhausted and feeling fat :(

:hug: Oh Captain that's rough. I feel for you hun. I don't think you are alone. We have been extremely lucky with Emily and I don't take any of the credit for it I think its just her. So don't feel its anything you can do, you are doing everything in your control you can to make the conditions right for her to sleep, the rest is up to her. I'm not really sure what else you can do, so I'll just offer more hugs and sleep vibes.
Saying that we didn't have a great night last night either, She was awake from 2-3.30 and i'm not really sure why. All I can put it down to is that we did use a different wrap that she could get her arms out of and I think it made a big difference. She has nearly grown out of her miracle wrap which keeps her more secure. Tho she sleeps during the day with her arms out. DH just slept through all her noises which really frustrated me.
I think she is getting to big to wrap at all but now i'm worried she won't sleep as well as she has been without wrapping. She still startles herself awake.
Does anyone use grobags? I have one but haven't tried it yet.

just quickly cos i saw your post captain and i know how you feel but before i finished work i had twins in my care at child care and one was a perfect sleeper, ate well, never cried and the other was the complete opposite - woke every hour, ate sporadically and cried all the time so it's not the parent (or the womb haha)!!

liberty slept better at 6 weeks than what she does atm, in saying that 4 months and 8 months are the worst times supposedly for sleeping habits?? i'm getting woken up a fair bit atm but i've stopped looking at the clock because it makes it worse for me. and even though i've wanted her to not sleep next to me as often in the bed, i'm too tired/lazy to settle her all the time so she's been sleeping next to me heaps more. :doh:

and if you're feeling frumpy, liberty sits on my roll of fat on my belly when i'm holding her!! :o

Well i still look freaking pregnant!!!! maybe its all the cheese cakes i am eating, but i am still a heffa lol.

Nath has his moments with sleep - sometimes he wakes up once, sometimes he doesnt at all. But never more then once, which i thought was odd as he is fully BF.

How much is everyones babies weighing? i am paranoid lol

I also can remember this time last year. We weren't even TTC so babies were not on my mind. Can't believe one year on and i'm now a mum and now have an adorabel little cherub. I found out i was preg around the end of the first week of January. I remember announcing it to DP's Parents on his birthday and that was the 12th. I had known for a few days by then.

Maddy is doing well. She will be 3mths on the 30th. She sleeps through the night and has cat naps in the day. Sometimes she has a big 2-3hr sleep. At the moment she is having her big sleep. She is doing the sleep, eat, play, sleep routine, so we have got things going quiet well.
I am so excited as i have now fully BF Maddy for 3mths:bfeedpink:. After having so many issues at the beginning i'm now really glad i persisted. It certainly takes time to get into a rythmn.

Oh Missy i love the photo of you BF ashton. I reckon its one to frame.

Eej: I still wrap Maddy. I find she settles alot bet when wrapped. At first when i wrap her she has a little tanti but then she settles quickly and goes to sleep. If her arms are out she often wacks herself in the face, wakes herself up and pulls her dummy out. In saying that often when i wake up in the morning her arms are out (and very cold, i have been putting mittens on her) and most of the time in the day they are also, but to intially get her to sleep wrapping helps heaps.

Hugs Captain! I am glad it wasn't just Ashton last night that woke up 4 times!! He usually only wakes once for a feed at 4ish so I was sooo tired today! It will get better :) The boys were both sleeping through by now, but both were on bottles so maybe that's why.

EEj I love growbags! Too hot now for the ones I have but in winter it was all we used :)

Mummatotwo you are SO lucky!! I would love for Ashton to sleep through reguarly. He HAS done it but I can count the times on my 2 hands ;) Ashton weights 8.4kg, went down last week not up because he was a little sick.

Oopsadaisy well done on Maddie sleeping through the night!! That is wonderful :) And congrats on your milestone. It's great that you persisted!

Well Ashton is well, going through a feeding frenzy at the moment, feeding 1-2 hourly day and night. I was so tired today. His dad came to visit again. He asked if he could come back on the days he gets off work early, which is nice :) I like that he is interested in spending time with him.
Ashton is talking a lot, he finally found his voice. He just gets into full conversations which is SO cute!! I even got it on camera :) He is really trying to crawl :( I don't want him to move yet so have limited his tummy time lol Used to spend most of the day on his tummy when he was down, not anymore!
I can't believe he is almost 4 months old!! It has gone SO fast!!
He is really into sucking on everything at the moment, his toys, clothes, blankets, fingers, MY hand and shoulder lol.
GOSH it's noisy here at the moment! Ashton is talking as loud as he can, the boys are making a racket lol the telly is up really loud so I can try and hear it haha

Hope all the bubbas are well! I would LOVE to see them all, so if you have put up a recent pic link it cos I can't work out this gallery thing :rolleyes:

i am still gob smacked at his weight lol! Its nice and all that nath sleeps through, but i do miss the midnight feeds and cuddles. Also i think thats why he isnt gaining that much. its a catch 22.

Yep nath is a sucker too... sucking everything a the moment. and i am getting so tired of people putting their dirty feral fingers in his mouth!

Mto2- Emily weighs 6.4kg. I was worried about it til I checked it in the blue book and she is bang on the middle line. Nath must be feeding really well to sleep through. We have Emily having her last feed at 10 then feed her again at 6. I think we are doing pretty well for full EBM feeding.

Hi Oopsadaisy- you must have been in the preg thread after mine. Thanks for popping in. I'm sure its nice to keep up with your belly buddies. Quite a few we started with are in the group before now too. Good to hear you still wrap too.

Thanks guys. I think when exhaustion hits, everything seems worse than it actually is. It wasn't helped by the fact that DH has been sick since Christmas and my mum has come down with it so she couldn't have Danielle for the night like planned. Oh well, Ashlyn seems to have settled after a half hour cry, I hate not knowing what is wrong and what I need to do to help her.

Eej, I love my growbags, luckily Danielle and Ashlyn were born in the same month so I can reuse all the ones I had. I started using it a couple of weeks ago because Ashlyn would spend more time trying to get out of her wrap than sleeping and after 2 occasions of finding the wrap right over her head I stopped using it. Now she sleeps with her arms spread wide or up over her head.

Lol, wow twins that are complete opposite. Sometimes I forget that it's a personality thing, not necasserily something I'm doing wrong. Danielle didn't sleep at the beginning either, but for totally different reasons, and now she is the best sleeper. I just need to be patient.

Mel, I love it when they talk with you, it's so cute! I'm glad Ashton's dad is making more of an effort. LOL at stopping the tummy time! I can understand you wanting to slow everything down. Danielle never crawled so I have no idea what it will be like to have Ashlyn on the move!

Mummatotwo, it must be nice to get some sleep, but your right and I should try to look at it as an extra chance for cuddles. I guess we all have something we're paranoid about!

For the girls that are feeling a bit frumpy, did you see the Body Transformation challlenge that Lucy is running? I would post a link but I'm really hopeless with computers :redface:

eej - My DH sleeps through any Molly noise too. One day I caught him telling someone that Molly had been sleeping through and at the time she wasn't. Seems the louder she gets the deafer he becomes :lol:

Iserve- Molly sits on mine too. But mine was preexisting before she ever came along.:o 4months and 8 months are the worst for sleeping?? oh no

Mummatotwo- Molly was weighed about 2 weeks ago and she was 6.3 (was about 3 months old). I always worry about her weight too.

oopsadaisy - Hello to you too :) I stop by your thread to read too as some of you were in my pregnancy thread. Maddy sounds like she is doing so well. Congrats on the BF. It certainly takes some effort doesn't it. We are still BF here just taking it one day at a time. We have had lots of issues.

I still can't get Molly to do tummy time but we are trying. She looks so weird scooting around on her back lol

Well Christmas was good. I had heaps of fun pretending Molly knew what it was about. We went to SIL & BIL house. Poor Molly didn't cope well with all the noise and people. She spent most of the time in my nephews FP swing where she was happy. SIL had bought Molly nearly as many presents as we did (DH and I decided not to buy heaps because she was so little).

DH has the next week off so he is spending more time with us. Molly is getting more vocal and I love hearing her talk.
Molly slept in her room in the bassinette last night. I was a basket case worrying about her being in a different room but she did really well (she did better than I did) next step is to try and get her in her cot because we don't have much room left in the bassinette.

no i here you on all counts feeling fat and tired, Eireann has been waking up more and ive found im sleeping in the day sometimes because of it ,doesnt help that my two year old wakes up at about half 5 in the morning, cant get cross at him though as he is so sweet with lots of cuddles and kisses ,

but yep feeling fat as well think ill join WW after christmas try and lose some weight

Captain I feel for you, Poppy is my only one that sleeps..... The others still wake at night??? I can't remember the last full nights sleep I got...Funny if it was'nt so draining!!!
Can you tell me where to find the body transformation??? :redface:I need it!!!! 20kgs to lose but would settle for 15kgs. Really don't know how I am going to do it?????

I nearly deleted it but decided to keep it, to help me on my weight loss journey:o I have put on 3 kgs since I had Poppy, stress, anxiety, health issues to blame..

Mummatwo Poppy is 6.5kgs at 3 months and 64cm off the chart for height and on the 75 percenetile for weight.

Poppy has started to laugh is batting at all her toys, trying to roll over, everything but one shoulder gets there, then she gets all angry and starts growling.

Hi Niamh, I joined the Body transformation challlenge, maybe you could too. The cut off was last night ...but if you ask nicely maybe she will add you, there are a few girls going to join in when they have babies so I bet she will if you want.

Thanks Captain for let us know about it. How much weight do you want to lose? or is it about fitness feeling better etc? Me it's the whole package.:redface: I am thinking I am going to name and shame myslef and add my "before photos to the gallery, makes me more accountable in my own mind!!!!!!

Pam, glad you found the challenge. I was trying to add the link when I realized you already found it! Mostly I'm doing it for the healthy eating and fitness. I used to be a very fit person and I would like to get close to that again. Not sure my tummy will every look the same again though:lol:

Well Ashlyn sleep has improved a small bit, because I've started sleeping her on her tummy. I know I'm not meant to, but her day sleeps have gone from being only 30 -40 mins to 2hours. I decided to buy one of those breathing monitors so I could try it at night. She now settles a lot faster and wakes up less, so will see how it goes.

My tummy went back well after my natural birth but not after the c-sections. I hope you acheive what you want. Tummy sleeping, my kids have all rolled over and slept on their tummy from around 5 months. She most likely would do it as soon as she rolls anyway. Main thing is they are'nt wrapped and the moniter is a good idea, especially until she can get back herself if she wants to.

Niamh - I just looked at your photos of Erieann on face book, she is so cute. I didn't know she had red hair. I've been hoping Emily's hair will go red but I'm not sure it will. I have dark red hair but I was born with it and it hasn't really changed my whole life. I hope your first christmas and new years in Oz were filled with joy.

I would have liked to have done the challenge but don't feel motivated at the moment to do anything, I want to but just can't seem to make the committment. I keep waiting for the lightening bolt moment to kick my butt into gear.

Captain- I think tummy sleeping is more natural for them, they can't seem to startle and they seem more cosy.

I don't think there is anything wrong with tummy sleeping. By 2 weeks I had had enough of fighting with Ashton, and let him sleep on his tummy and his sleeps improved immensly! Even now, he sleeps on his side in the cot, on a pillow... and I have to wrap him loosly in the blanket, he hates having his hands out. Otherwise he will be up in half an hour.

eeeeek it's so overwhelming seeing how many posts there are sometimes haha. Serves me right for not getting online more often.

We went to Lennox Head with my SIL at New Years and Liberty had her first time of "swimming", well apart from her wading pool anyway, in Lake Ainsworth, she loved it!

Donna - I know I've said it before but Molly is just too cute!! Libby is getting pretty vocal too, I'm not sure our house is ever going to be quiet again!

Captain - I have a breathing monitor that i use when we're not co-sleeping. I use it in daytime too. The only problem is forgetting to turn them off and them going off in the middle of the night but they are so good for peace of mind.

I found that when I was at hospital, everyone who had a vaginal birth their stomach went down a lot more than those with a c/s. I had a vaginal birth and my belly is back to normal but unfortunately normal for me resembles buddha.

Pam - I had put on weight after having Liberty. I lost most of it really quickly and then I started eating from frustration, stress, boredom, etc so started to put back on. I've cut back on some of my boredom eating though which has helped.

The body transformation challenge sounds interesting, I might sticky beak and watch. Hubby and I are having a challenge against one another at the moment (he put on sympathy weight when I was preggers haha). Only 5kg at a time. I've already lost 1.3kg (just from cutting back on my boredom eating - how bad is that!) and he's lost nothing so far - I would feel a bit more confident about my odds of beating him if I wasn't addicted to cadbury drinking chocolate mixed with cold soy milk.

Captain I might try Eireann on her tummy, she is finding it really hard to settle in the day only naps here and there. last night was terrible we couldnt sleep with the heat and she fed constantly Im worn out . I have her in her pram on her tummy (its a bassinette) and my Eldest is rocking her just to give me a break dont think its working :(

eej every one says that about that photo it really looks like her hair is red, its craddle cap on the top of her head :D well looking at her Its a mixture of blonde and dark hair. so im wondering what way she will go. I know my DS 3 started with pitch back hair and by 6 months it was blonde, then when he was around two I got it cut and now its dark again. it has blonde highlight from the sun. so you might get the red yet! I had a lovely christmas, I missed my family but we had a lovely day and I have my brother with me .

Lauren I am the same, I am going to try and keep a closer eye on the group .you know we all have been chatting on line for a year now. this time last year we were all finding out about our little babys.

ooohhh had to pop back in , my son Adam did it , he has Eireann fast asleep on her tummy as well , is he clever or what!! just had to adjust her a little so she can breath properly well more for my peace of mind LOL
