WOO HOO I'm first...while you girls are all snoozing.
HAPPY 8 MONTHS TO MY LITTLE PRINCESS ~PHOEBE...ALSO TO DARCY, KAITLYN & JESSE
I'll be back for personals at a more reasonable hour.
Good Night.
-
Woo Hoo I am second!!! :)
Kaitlyn is 8 months old today!!!!
Happy 8 months to Darcy, Jesse and Phoebe.
We measured her length last night as she seems to have shot up. Shot up indeed. 73 1.2 cms. That's 4 1/2 cm in a month.
A few questions for our bubs.
- How long are you now? Kaitlyn is 73.5 cm
- What size shoes are you taking? Still a 1
- 00 or 0 jumpsuits? def. needs the 0
- funniest thing you've done in the last month... falls backwards from sitting, bumps her head, looks at you for a reaction and then laughs.... there's heaps more but that pretty much was the highlight.
Have a good one ladies. My DD has gone back to sleep after an early rise so I am off to have a nice long shower....
BBL.
-
Happy 8 months to Darcy, Jesse ,Phoebe and Kaitlyn! Riley is helping me type so this could get messy lol.
From Riley: I am 69cm long (or was 2 weeks ago mum should measure me again)
I wears 0 jumpsuits and I haven't worn shoes so don't know what size I am
I do lots of amusing things I think lol but I do like to change channels on the TV and play with my big si sters mobile phone, the otgher day i managed to delete all her contacts!
We got home at 11.15pm last night, had a really good trip home, no traffic and got here in 2 and a half hours instead of the usual 3. It was soooooo nice to be back in my own bed even though Riley did wake up 3 times.
bbl got to get some breakkie
-
I'm trying to get the Dragon to have an early sleep cos we have to go out, but nooooo thanks mum.
Can you believe they're 8 months old!!!
Darcy is 70cm long
She is in 0 full length suits but she's a skinny minny and wears 000 and 00 still if it's just tops and pants
She a size 2 shoe and already has 4 pairs (but has a way to go to get to my 44 prs )
She makes me laugh all the time - every time I tell her 'no!" she laughs at me, she carries around my old wallet everywhere with her, her favourite new trick is to empty the bottom of the pantry - how can you get cross??? :)
Darcy used to be a really bad eater - she wouldn't try anything. I made her some carrots cooked with rice and pureed that and since then she'll have a go at anything. She's always happiest if she thinks she eating what I've got and she seems to be a big fan of flavours, which I'm putting down to what she's used to with the BM. She loves the pear and avo, baked beans pureed with pumpkin, tomato risottos and pasta sauses, spinach. Finger food wise she just eats what you give her - banana, toast (plain - mean mother I am), her first biscuit yesterday, cold hot chips(she's only had 4 though), chicken/turkey, potato. She loves frozen banana quarters. I just put her on the floor in the kitchen with one - then I have to wash the floor but at least it's clean :dunno:
They aren't dumb questions Allison. I ask lots of silly questions - but if I don't ask I never find out. Yogurt was essentially Darcy's first food. I buy not the Heinz ones......that's right the Vaalia ones. They're smaller servings as she doesn't eat a whole great quantity. I also just buy her full fat Vanilla vaalia if the baby stuff's not on special which it usually is at our woolies.
-
Kaitlyn used to hold her own bottle at about 5 1/2 months, but now she has just gotten lazy and lets me do it. I now make her crawl across the room to get her own bottle before picking her up to give it to her. Sometimes she lays on the floor propped up with a pillow and feeds herself, but usually the floor gets more than she does. Shes not snuggly anymore now she can move around so I am usually the me feeding her the bottle as snuggle time.

Happy 8 months to Darcy, Jesse, Kaitlyn & Phoebie !!
Just over a week ago - when Shaun was 7months 1 week is stats were:
Weight: 8.24kg
length: 68.5cm
head circ: 42.2cm
He wears 0's
Not sure about feet, as he hasn't worn shoes for ages.
Funny things: he terrorises the cat. chases him everywhere... and if he catches him, tries to chew on his paws or tail. He stands up... but can't get back down again. He loves having a back massage - and if you massage his shoulders he giggles uncontrollably.
Hope you have a great day... talk again later.
-
Arghhh go Darcy and Katy!!! How exciting!!! Buggar I live in Adelaide LOL....
Good luck girls!!!!
-
Okay back for personals...
Jodie YAY for Shaun pulling himself up!!! That batman outfit sounds great!
Mummy4Life I was wondering where you had gotten to! LOL @ the teeth. Em did the same thing grrrr! Nothing worse then putting up with teething symptoms and not actually getting any teeth!!!! I think I find out on the Tuesday (16th) next week about uni. I’m very excited – though I think I’ll be at Port Vincent then so I won’t know till I get home haha!
Shazz I hope you got a better nights sleep last night. I’m lucky that I don’t have to worry about having a DH to squash Em when he’s in with me LOL. I more worry about him rolling off the bed as he moves around HEAPS in his sleep! I hope its teeth with Ryan and not another sore throat the poor thing!
Mrsmac I didn’t realise you had lost your mum. I’m so sorry. This is the thread for it. We’re here for you as much as we can be! It must be hard for you. Are you going back to work fulltime?
Vic Hehe about Dylan!! I think Em is gonna be the same. He’s never without a bruise or mark on his face somewhere already! OMG at you having to get out a jumper!! That’s funny! Tomorrow is our scorcher so we will be staying indoors. I’m babysitting though so hopefully the kids won’t get to antsy! Em loves it when I babysit – he loves the other kids. Em holds his own bottle – hates me holding it actually. He even does the one handed “I’m-so-cool” hold LOL.
Leanne Congrats on reaching your 50 hours of driving!! Nice work! I’m sure you’ll do great on your test! LOL @ the DH vent! Sometimes I feel blessed being a single parent lol! I think that if there are two of you then you need help each other out.
Kim I forgot to say how much I love that new photo of Darcy! So cute!
Alison On the solids note – don’t apologise!! And it certainly isn’t ignorance!!
I went out for lunch today to catch up with a work mate which was lovely. Had a chat with work about if I’m going to return or not and that is up in the air a bit so we will have to see what happens I think. I am off to the movies tonight to see The Holiday. Em is getting picked up before 6 so I am looking forward to some time to myself to do nothing before I go out. Normally Em is only watched while I go out – I’ve never really had him watched just to do nothing… so the few hours before I leave will be bliss I think! Em has his shots tomorrow finally – hopefully he isn’t too cranky! At least there is no more until 12 months though time is flying by so fast that it will hit us all in the face soon enough. I think I may just cry when he turns one…
-How long are you now? 71cm @ 5th Jan
- What size shoes are you taking? 1
- 00 or 0 jumpsuits? Mostly 00. In shorts/pants still a 000 (takes after his skinny minny mummy LOL)
- Funniest thing you've done in the last month... today Em tried to crawl under a desk and smacked his head quite a few times before he realised he had to lower himself LOL. But the funniest thing is that when I start talking passionately or I’m raving on about something Em starts to laugh. I do admit I get quite animated and my arms start going etc but I didn’t think I was that funny to watch LOL…
Alright that’s it from me. I have to go and get Em’s stuff ready for when he’s picked up! Will be back tomorrow!!
-
bugger we are in qld Kelly how cute would that be
i had to pick Ryan up from CC today they rang me in the mornign and asked whether i could come and give him panadol ( which i did ) then they rang back just after lunch saying he wouldn't settle he must be sick yada yada ya so soon as i hung up i rang the doctors surgery got straight in i looked like a complete idiot although this doc was great he only started here today along with his wife and i could understand him ( bonus) so back to the point HE IS TEETHING - just like i told them this morning at CC ok rant over ........
-
Oooh how exciting Kelly! (I have to admit I did send her an email.....blushes).
Yes Shazz that is always a bonus and extra if you can understand their handwriting....
Hope he's feeling better.
Have a nice night Nat. I wanted to see that last week but it was a bit girly for Cam.
I did my 2km on the blades today - it was really hot and I wasn't going to but I thought 'hey what else am I going to do??' It nearly killed me but I've also dug out my WW DVD and am even going to do the tummy exercises after I wash up :D
Darcy has worn herself out today. First she didn't have a great sleep this morning, this afternoons was broken too after mothers group in and out of the car/bed. Then we went blading and she watched the kids and the ducks. I drove the long way home but she still wanted to chat. Then she has crawled around investigating and getting into mischeif for a good hour and a half. She was happy so I didn't even bath her. She's gone straight to sleep after her feed.....she was so funny I was creeping up to her, tickling her and then running away and hiding. She was laughing so hard she nearly toppled over. Then she thought it was a great joke to climb up her lounge to the coffe table....I go over after saying no and she'd go rigid and slide down laughing to start again...tehe cow. I have to say I'm so happy with her this afternoon. She's got some independence and while I'm sad, it's exciting too.
-
WTG Kim on 2 km bet your legs and butt are killing mine would be numb for a month i haven't done anything YET so good at this WL challenge i am ;)
well Ryan has collasped in a heap fast asleep and peacfully too so i'm off to wash bottles and to bed nite
-
-How long are you now? 70 something cm i haven't had him measure since he was 6 months must do that
- What size shoes are you taking? shoes what are they ....
- 00 or 0 jumpsuits? size 1
- Funniest thing you've done in the last month in the car he isn't happy till he is holding on to his brother and sister by the hands while driving along then he'll just start flapping his arms along with theirs :heartbeat:( even if they don't want to ) whilst yabbering on in baby talk it is quite cute ...
-
Tehe SHazz, I forget which day I weighed......how cute is that about the car????
-
Kim, I sent one too lol. Can't hurt can it? I wonder if they want a boy or a girl?
Lea, I lost mum nearly 5 years ago but sometimes it seems very raw and fresh, I think having another baby has made it worse and also sil just had her first and her mum who is lovely is round there all the time and helps her heaps like mum used to with me so its brought it all back.
We have started the CSIRO diet today and even went for a walk after dinner! We did our BMI and DH is overweight, I am on the verge of overweight and DD#1 is barely off underweight. I told her she has to eat lots extra and she's doing it for health not to lose weight.
Riley is screaming so I have to go.
-
Cool Christine - we might get to meet! Let us know how you go with that diet. I've always been interested but never bought the book.
The Dragon wanted to play for three hours last night at 11!  I had a really bad headache before that, but now.....! Man I wish she'd just go to SLEEP!!!!!!
-
Thanks for the advice on solids. Nat your advice was great. I tried pears in pumpkin and sweetcorn last night and he ate more than usual, so I think thats the way to go. Thank you Thank you Thank you
Kim, when I read Kelly's post I thought of Darcy straight away. How exciting! Well done on the blading too, I get tired just thinking about it lol
Cooper is loving the commando crawl, and so am I infact. He is happier and it wears him out more so he goes to sleep easier ;) Nights are pretty awful though, he sleeps well for about 4 hours, then needs a dummy put back in about every 45 mins. Lately about 4am onwards, he cries out about every 15 mins so I end up getting him into the spare bed with me and he sleeps perfectly. Am I creating (or created) a bad habit?? I hope I can break him out of it soon. I'm sure its just because he is teething.
-
Ah Alison that describes my nights perfectly......
Great to hear he's eating though. THey have their definite likes and dislikes - you just have to work em out.
Isn't it always the way....you go to bed and then remember what you forgot to do.
I went to bed at 9:30 last night, then I remember I have to express each night, so I got up and went downstairs got all that organised and started. Then I could hear the blinds moving and a thump on the sliding door. So of course I had to investigate - It sounded like someone was there....after about 10minutes I discovered.......a brown tree frog.
So then I spent the next half hour chasing him around trying to get him outside LOL.
So finally I finsihed expressing and get to bed at 11 - for Darcy to wake at 11.14....
-
** HELP!!! **
Ladies I need your help.
We have one very cheeky mouse residing in our garage at present.
For the past four nights we have set traps with no luck.
Nights 1 and 2 - just cheese on the trap
Night 3 - DH melted it on the trap with a blow torch. :)
Last night I hand stitched it on. This morning half was gone and I've just checked now and the other half is missing... GRR
Is there any other way, or any other thing we can use to 'catch the b@#$%rd?!!!' I want to see it. Vicious aren't I? Sorry if I am offending any mice lovers out there, but I want to see it goonnnnne.
-
peanut butter or pumpkin seeds forget the cheese
-
I was going to say peanut butter too.....
-
Im off with some peanut butter...... Fingers crossed LOL
-
Kim I had to laugh at you chasing the frog around...would have been hilarious to be a fly on the wall. So Darcy is restless at night too?
Vic, I had considered the growth spurt and thought I might try a feed tonight and see how he goes. He has always been a restless sleeper though, I can count on one hand the number of nights he has slept straight through without me having to do a dummy run or ten. But will see how he goes tonight if I feed him. He was STARVING when he woke up at 8:30 this morning, couldnt wait for the bottle to be in his mouth.
Peanut butter is good for catching mice, I agree with the others there. We have also caught a mouse using chocolate. Cheese never worked for us.
-
Oh Alison - I haven't had more than two hours sleep in a row since 3 days before Darcy was born......
THat sounds like a cool course Vic....
-
leanne...
we have two dogs... and we kept their dry food in a room out the back of our house (bit like a bungalow). Anyway... mice found the food and decided to have a party. Because of the dogs, we couldn't use tradtional mouse traps or poison bait... so we picked up awesome traps from Bunnings for $2 each.
They are a long blue tube with a little door at one end. The tube is slightly "V" shaped. So you put peanut butter in one end... and the other end balances with the door open. But when the mouse goes in there... the trap falls to the other end and the door closes... and there is no way they can get out. We would then sticky tape the door shut and throw the whole thing away. It resolved our mouse problem. (and putting the dog food in a big plastic container too).
kim... I thought you were getting more sleep now that Darcy had settled. ???
-
BUNNINGS - My DH should know that seeing as he works there.... and a manger at that. Hmm. Will mention it.
HAve loaded the trap with peanut butter so we'll see
Funny Ha!
-
Nah she's definitely more settled...the days are usually great. Still takes ages at night despite doing all they said to the letter and often she's awake 2 or more hours in the middle of the night....
ETA actually that's what I'm doing now...waiting for her to go to sleep. But really must get around to lowering the cot - like tomorrow! She's only done it once before but she was upright screaming at the end of the cot...hang on she's doing it agian!
-
Leanne- I second pumpkin seeds, DH always has to "tweek" the trap too to make it more sensitive or something! We had a Jack Russell that was a brilliant mouser but she lives with the ILs down the south coast now so no help to you I'm afraid.
-
Gees quiet last night.....
We're off to our first swimming lesson today! And of course she won't have a sleep....
-
I am here !! Riley is still asleep and I should be cause I am exhausted but just can't sleep, don't you hate that? Riley has been waking every 2 hours and screaming his head off if I don't feed him. If I give him a quick feed he goes straight back to sleep. I am at my wits end, what do I do??? Do I keep feeding him and have him blimp out? and exhaust myself, do I let him scream?? HELP!
Hope you got your mouse Leanne.
-
I am here - just had one of those days yesterday not to mention I was babysitting all day which made it hard to get on the computer.
I have an appt at the childcare place I want to put Em into in 20 minutes... I better get ready LOL.
Will BBL.
-
Pretty down today ladies.
Stuffed up a reverse parallel park in my driving lesson today and am now feeling really anxious about my test next Tuesday. I just wish it was over already. It sux that they can 'test' you on your driving ability in just 15 minutes or less. I wish my driving instructor could write a reference or something....
I shouldn't be down cause I am picking up my new car this afternoon, but I just am.
And still have not caught the damn mouse. Maybe it figures it's only going to get peanut butter and will go terrorise another garage.... here's hoping.
BBL, now Katy's up - and she's in a ferral today as well. Probably picking up on my vibes.
-
Shazz LOL @ your rant! I didn’t realise that they wouldn’t administer Panadol and throught it was strange when I read your post but then today when I went in for induction at the CC they said they don’t administer Panadol! So there you go…
Kim I had a great night and the movie was fantastic! I loved it so much I’m going to get it on DVD! You have inspired me to exercise… well at least think about how I’m going to work it into our routine! I’m almost down to my pre-pregnancy weight of 54kgs (I’m 55) and I don’t really care about losing more but I’d like to tone up and just feel fit in general. I’ve been feeling so sluggish lately. I’m even tempted to do on of those detox diets for a week because I feel so dirty on the inside LOL. Kim it sounds as though you’re having so much fun with her lately? Have you really never for more then 2 hours sleep in a row? How on earth do you do it? LMAO @ the brown tree frog!!! I can’t believe that you haven’t lowered your cot yet. I had to do it months ago because Em thought it was fun to climb the ends  I have to admit that it’s a PITA having the base lower though. How did your swimming lesson go?
Vic OMG I so wanted to do that same course!! In SA its held across the other side of town though and its not a discounted course either. Not to mention I have no real reason to do it hehe! Let me know how you go – I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!
mrsmac I’m so sorry to hear about your mum. I don’t think losses like that really ease all that much over the years. My mum lost her mum about 10 years ago and she says even now it’ll just suddenly hit home really hard. GL with the diet! Arghh I have no idea why Riley might be doing that?
Alison Whoo hoo at the crazy solid combinations working. I remember my MCHN telling and I was thinking ewwwww but it worked for us! I don’t know about creating a bad habit with taking him to bed with you. I do it with Em when he’s unsettled and he’s now started sleeping through the night in his own cot so who knows!
Leanne Awww sweety big !! Reverse parallel parking is a *****!!!! LOL! It has taken me years to be completely confident doing that so please don’t beat yourself up! YAY on getting a new car! How exciting… what sort and most importantly what colour hehe?
I’ve been so busy lately. Its been crazy. I thought it would settle down but it hasn’t… I think I am keeping myself busy TBH! I have plans for tomorrow and Saturday, working Sunday and then I’m going to Port Vincent for a few days. Will get back home in time to shop and pack to go away on Friday to Nildottie for a girls weekend away!! YAY!! The next week is Australia Day week and the week after Em starts child care  ready for me to start uni…. Where has the time gone??? I was supposed to finish scrapping my pregnancy before I started uni LOL!! Mind you I am up to week 30 and I just got another desk here so I have more space LOL. I just bought tickets to see Raggs in concert in March. I’m sure Em will love it!! I’m not gonna say much more because this is such a large post and big posts hurt my eyes LOL. Will BBL.
-
afternoon all
i just had to post a weee little wooohooo my little man learnt to drink from a straw today oMG how cute he was.
Then after lunch my DD set up his Huggies fun car he has been rolling in all over the house - he gets inside the stands up and leans on the front wall till it flips over and then just keeps going his a maniac (sp) but just too cute to get angry at just yet or as my DD outs it " he still has the cute factor working in his favour " BBL
Christine ~ these babies are just plain to hard to work out i just go with the flow and try and not get to exhausted in the process my reasoning behind that is Ryan is my LAst adn i don't care for how long he needs his mumma so i hope riley give you a break soon and my wish for 2007 is that all the precious bubba's start to sleep through the night GL
-
That's my wish too Shazz...
OMG the energiser bunny has been going ALL day! I had to rock her to sleep this afternoon at 2 as she'd only had literally 6mintues since 7am. That was with the swimming lesson, which I think she liked.
It was in a hydrotherapy pool though and it was sooooo hot. They weren't very friendly either....:(
Yeah Nat I am really enjoying her. She has her little personality and it just feels like we (her and I) were meant to be together. She does so much like I did when I was small, it's frightening.
-
I am bored... bored bored bored!!
I'm not sure why I'm bored. There's plenty to do... but it all bores me   I think I am bored because I've been sitting here all day thinking about studying... and now I just want to start already!!!
Shazz The Huggies fun car sounds great!! And Ryan sounds so cute!!
Kim That is so excellent!! Sounds like she's been on the go all day though. I hope she sleeps well for you tonight.
Well I was going to do a more in depth post but I just got a message from Gordon. He took Em to his parents and was supposed to bath him... but his Dad's pet snake was in the bath  So I have to get a bath ready for Em LOL!! Quite funny... I just wasn't expecting to get that message it gave me a giggle!!!
Will be back tomorrow folks!
And THANK GOD for the undo button... I just accidentally deleted my post and pressed undo and there it was again *phew*
-
Kim - came past your place this afternoon and tried to phone on the mobile but I don't think you were there.
-
Ahhh sorry Leanne - we were at Ikea trying to find a more suitable place to hide the PS2 games from Darcy! She's already taken owernership of the controls lol. I did think I had my mobile in my handbag though....wonder where Darcy's put that.......
I really hope you get the course you want Nat, cos it sounds like you're so ready to do it.
Well it's stinking hot already today. They said 40 so we might have to go and practice our swimming I think!
-
Lea - A SNAKE????? was it swimming in the bath or just hanging out??? My oldest wants a snake, I said she'd have to pay for it all herself and they are very expensive and you have to have a special licence (I am trying to make it impossible without actually saying no!)
Kim- Riley thinks the remote is his (typical male) and has a tanty whenever you take it off him. He also likes everyones mobiles and can access things we didn't know existed!I hope you find yours soon.
Leanne- swimming sounds good, Erin is at our neighbours swimming atm, they seem really friendly and nice (we have only been here a month) I wouldn't like to inflict my white flabby and slightly hairy body on the world so I will just stay inside.
We had planned to go out to Emu Plains today but its far too hot so we'll leave it for another day.
Rang Centrelink today to find out about childcare rebate and it looks like a large part of Riley's costs will be covered which is great.
Better go my dad has arrived and wants me to weigh the tomato he has grown!
