hey kiya, sorry about your rough time. I hope things look up for you in this time.
em, hows that belly growing? af arrived- Yeh means i can get the hsg done but on the bad side the dr at the hospital isn't back until the 15 and that means it is that would be day 14 so i now have to wait until next month. which also a bummer because i am going away for 5 weeks at the end of march and start uni again on the 1st march. anyway hows that belly?
storm, hows things?
i have to agree. a couple of people had said the same thing over the past few days. now losing 2 members of the family i hope that doesn't mean that end up having 2 new little bundles of joy, but then again i certainly wouldn't mind having 2....kiya
Hey Luv i keep getting this bad stitch down low must ask the hospital next time.
Glad AF has arrived,im praying for ya darl.
Kiya what onemore said is so so true darl.
Yes the update on Maz's bub isnt that great from what i understand of it.
He has some form of brain damage cause of everything thats happened but they will
not know to what degree until he hits the age where he will start to crawle talk walk etc.
He also has cerabal palsy now because of all the goings on.
And the same again they wont know how bad till he gets bigger.
But on a good note i think hes going home this weekend.
Poor Maz is a champ up and down at the hospital and also looking after her family.
She must really need some time out just for her by now.
She is still breast feeding by expressing,he may be on a feeding tube not sure.
So now she has two special boys with special needs.
Take care girls
Hello everyone... Just found this forum as i'm looking to get my TL reversed. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a Doc that does the op in Vic.
Hi Karend, and welcome to our forum. I'm sorry i can't help you with Dr as i'm in Qld. Best of luck with finding a Dr in Vic. Cheers kiya
hi karend,
you can try the reproductive unit at royal womens in melbourne or Dr dalton in ballarat he cost $3000 dollars thats all i know, hope this helps
karend notice you are from geelong where abouts? i'm from geelong.
ray:D
hi karend,
i'm from waurn ponds.
ray:D
My goodness where is everyone????
Hey Em, i'm here. How's that bubba belly going ? Kiya
Yeah im doing ok. C-section has been booked for the 6th of may.
Had a wisdom tooth pulled on saturday now i have stitches and ive been heaps sick.
Like i havent even gotten out of bed, which is not like me at all even if im sick i can normally still get up and do a couple of things but not this time it knocked me for a 6.
So when do we get some good news from you?
And Ray wats going on down your way???
Come on girls im getting lonely
Oh poor Em, I wish i could come down and look after you and keep you company. I'm hoping fingers crossed next month we start with the IVF. Everything over the past few weeks has put us back a little, but it makes us stronger for it. Really bizzare i didn't ovulate this month. I should have ovulated 2-3 days ago and i always without a question of a doubt feel it ever since i had the TL done. But this cycle nothing, not pain, nothing, and that is weird. Keep well Em and i hope you get better soon. Kiya
hi em,
have a appointment on 17th of march at royal womens and start the pill a couple of days after that, so hopefully transfer in april:crossfingers::crossfingers:.
hubby leaves soon:cry:.
How are you going?
ray:D
Oh you poor thing i bet you will miss him heaps.
Well im having second thoughts on the name i have chosen.
It seems everyone HATES it so now i feel bad maybe i should
have kept my mouth shut. So now i just dont know ive been
looking up girls names but i like names that are different not
just the norm. So what do you all think of Briel??
Or im open to any ideas girls!!
hi em,
if you like the name don't bother about what anyone says.
If i have a girl i have decided Isabella leighton.
What about saige? thats the name of a friends baby or what about remi?
I do like briel though.
ray:D
Em, all i am goign to say is this. Who's baby is it anyways? "YOURS" you name her anything you want to name her. Not only that but i quite like the name Mackenzie. Yes it is different and out of the norm, but that will make her unique and individual. Thats why i named my daughter Jeanna, pronouced as gee-arna. She always gets called Jeana, but she is very quick to correct them and say "My name is Jeanna, NOT Jeana" So Em it is your decision and don;t let the comments of others sway your choice. Kiya
Opps, sorry ladies I've been very very slack huh?
I'm here doing well, still not UTD yet, which is driving me bonkers LOL!!!!!
DOnt have much time to catch up atm, but I promise I will try & pop in all the time again :D
Glad to hear things are going well for you all.
Welcome Karen!!I think Maz had her's done down that way, let me go & see if I can find her for you LOL she hides very well that woman!
Woohoo glad your back Storm hows the house going?.
Now i just dont know which one i like Makenzie or Brielle
I like the name Mackenzie. It is a name with a statement. This little girl was meant to be, and therefore the name is very just, as it is a name that is meant for this little girl. Kiya
It's going very slowly Em lol, we now have a shower, rooms aren't done yet, the wind turbine is up yay!!!!!!!!! Dh is too busy with his head down holes too finish grrrr plus cash is a bit rare lately!
I think Makenzie is the pick out of your 2 names, I don't know why either :rolleyes:it just suits I guess!!
em, there are some really lovely girl names. i really liked this one name but never used on my girls, mahalia, and taiyanni is my nieces name and samara. don't be concerned about what anyone thinks, the name you choose will be your babies personality. i have just moved in with mum cause she is really sick and i am here to try and help maintain her very big house! i am off to uni again next week...... so very interesting this year...
storm, so good to hear from you... thought you had left for good. i know what its like to renovate and now i am cramped up in one bedroom with all six of the children..... talk about squashy!
kiya, i am sure you will be like em, real soon too...
Does anyone know of a good doctor in Qld that does TL reversals?
I was going to go to see Dr Eslar in Toowoomba then headed on over to QE2, but that fizzzled out, now i am going to see Westmead in NSW as we are now going to do IVF instead of a TR...kiya
Hi,
I have 5 children aged from 3 years to 13 years (4 are at school one at home).
I had my tubes clamped when my last was born (august 2004) and regret it.
I live in newcastle and I have found a doctor to do the op but he wants $7,600 (too much money for me ) I have read on here that some have had it done in a public hospital and waited on a list, does anyone know anything about this?
I have had so many problems since my tubes were clamped, where to start? my periods are like 10 days now sometimes more.... My vagina is soo dry and sex well I have kindof lost some Interest in it.... I also Itch like mad mostly on my legs but sometimes on my lower back i'ts like my skin is really dry and no matter how much I apply creams it seems to remain dry... I never had anything like this before my T/L and I was never DRY ANYWHERE..... I want a baby really bad but dont have $7600 in my bank and cant find any cheaper in newcastle.
my family would not loan me as they feel 5 is enough, mind you they talked into this T/L.....
I have a long term partner we are not married but he is the dad to all 5...
marriage wont change anything so we chose not to do it...
has anyone had a T/L reversal in a public hospital and if yes when and how long did it take on the waiting list and how do I go about it????
I have to get these clamps off ASAP and become normal again....
Hi Mummy25, I'm not sure of any public hospitals in NSW, but you could try VIC. I'm not sure who on the forum had it done in VIC, as my brain is a bit loopy today, but i don;t think they had long to wait. Sorry i can't help you as i am in QLD, and they no longer do public up here. I'm not having a TR done anymore, but going to do IVF as it is sooooo much cheaper, and not long ago was told that even if i did have a TR i don;t have much of a success rate because i have a lot of damage from my endeometriosis. Cheers kiya
Mummy25.... I have 5 kids too and so dearly wanted another but i had my tubes tied after my last one.I had my T/R done at RPA but it cost me $3500 and i never fell pregnant and you cant get any guartees you ever will and if you do fall the eptopic rate is quiet high. So i ended up doing IVF thru Westmead and it was so much cheaper ($1440 start to finish $348 cash back)and i so wish i had of done that in the first place. Fell pregnant first go thank goodness.
Hi girls how is everyone god its so quiet in here noone around.
Well i had a hospital app last week and they asked if i wanted my tubes redone after this bub born as i will already be opened up and it WOULD BE REAL EASY she said.I said no thanks i will be leave my body the way nature intended it to be. WHy she asked" So i told her the story of my experince after having it done. And she laughted at me and said there is NOTHING that changes in your body when having it done. I told her to get on bellybelly and take a look at that thread post T/L syndrome. Dumb bit#@ch could have knocked her out she just didnt listen to a word i said and wouldnt believe a word i said
Hi mum of 5 wow Ivf is cheaper than I thought it would be...
I would rather try this I think "tell me more"?
who do I see and do i need a referral?
can they still do ivf if you have clamps on your tubes?
I have had 3 c/s and i know I would have another as they refused to let me go natural with my last baby.
so I could give them hell about not informing me of the side affects and hope they will fix my tubes when having bub.
How many fertilised eggs did they Implant? can you opt for 3 to go in just to be sure? Or more???
was it hard the Ivf process in saying that I mean did any of it hurt, the needles, or egg retrieval? did they get many eggs.
wow I am going to ask the doc tomorrow on costs of ivf as he is the one who wants $7600 for a reversal and he does also IVF....
If I had $7600 I would do this but the option you chose is more our budget.
Thanks for your Info and look forward 2 more......
Here is the site WestMead Fertility Centre take a look and see what you think.
Give them a call and they will point you in the right direction.
It was all pretty easy really it was. I made sure one appointment lead into the next one so as to not waste any time if you know what i mean.
Taking all the drugs does take its toll on your body emotionly tho.
But we all managed the best we could(small price to pay for what i have now).
When i went in for my egg retrieval they said that the drugs they use may make me go to sleep but i might stay awake but be very goggy(which is what happened to me. It was pretty uncumfy but no where near as bad as labour:lol:.
We got 17 eggs which was good and out of them 12 fertilized.
We decided against doctors wishes to have two embryoes put back(2 is the max unless you have had many fauled IVF attempts). As far as we seen it two was better then one but thats not the way it works so the doctor reckoned(i didnt believe it tho).
So we fell pregnant with twins first go very lucky but one baby only made it to 8weeks. I have one very strong bub now which is just a blessing, over the moon.
It doesnt matter if your tubes are still clamped because with IVF they bypass the tubes and put it straight into the uterus.
So we ended up having 10 eggs left which the lab left to grow until day 6 which is called blastie stage. Not many eggs ever last to this stage but they have to grow them to this stage so as they can freeze them. So we ended up with 4 that are now frozen and safe.As for having a c/s with the next bub they wouldnt let you deliver naturaly after 3 c/s anyway far to dangerous. Ive had 2 c/s and this will be my 3rd
Oh yeah one more thing there isnt a long wait either before you can start i mean waiting list. It took me 6 to 8 weeks just in seeing the fertility specialist first then they refer you and waiting for periods to come.
HI I will give them a call.
Did you have private health Insurance by any chance? as we dont and was wondering if I should wait untill we get some?.
What I mean is did your cost Include a rebate from private health or only medicare?
I'm hoping to get 3 put in as i have misscarried a few times, does not sound like they will let me but i can ask is all.
I know all 3 would not survive.
How long did you stay on the med's? prior to egg collection?
Did your hubby have to give you injection's every day as I heard this is one of them....
Huh  who can afford private health insurance with 5 kids not me thats for sure. No all you do is when you go in to westmead for your fisrt appointment you give them $1440 and they will provide you with all the services you will need to get that bundle. Once you have finished your cycle they will give you an invoice that will be able to take to medicare and get about $348 back i think it is. When you go for your first appointment you are normally 1 month into your treatment anyway cause you must go on the pill for one cycle so as its a completely controlled cycle.
They will not put 3 embryoes back in trust me,well not unless you have had many failed IVF attempts. They only wanted to put one back with me but i pushed for the two to better my chances at atleast getting one baby.
Once you have been on the pill you go on a nasel spray for about 2wks to down reg your cycle then the injections onces a day at the same time everyday for roughly 2wks. Once your started it takes about 6weeks. I started seeing the f/s in June then seen the clinic in july egg pick up was 22nd August(i had to have one weeks of extra injections cause i had lots of eggs but they needed to get them bigger) and i was 4weeks pregnant by the 8th of september by memory.
I got my girlfriend to come over everyday to do my shots cause i just couldnt bring myself to do them and my partner did a couple not many tho cause i didnt really trust him:lol:,he made me nervous. The shots only last about 14days out of the hole course.
I am glad you didnt have private health Insurance as I was worried it might be more money, when you paid the first payment do you need cash or can I use my credit card?
my girlfriend is a registered nurse (I am a assistant in nursing) so i will get her to do the shots for me, as I dont trust my partner he would probebly stuff things up.....
when in all this did your partner go in with you?
we live in newcastle so it would be hard for him to attend every appointment.
but his mum lives in fairfield so I could visit her when down there.
I am going to see what their web site says...
Thankyou so much for all the Info, I think I just about have my partner convinced.
Do you plan on any more? as you did freeze some eggs didnt you?
Im sure credit card is fine they do have a eftpo machine there.
My partner only came to the first appointment and then egg pick up.
I dont have any family here so he had to stay home and watch the kids.
He will also have to go to the first F/S appointment with you which is before
you start the hole thing anyway. Because you live a fair way away they might show you what to do in one hit so as you dont have to go in much.
Yeah we have 4 frozen and it was funny i was watching a show yesterday on discovery Health about a family of 12!!!! Why not i have 6 so why stop now:lol:. And i keep getting real bad feeling(guilty)about just wasting my babies and putting them down the drain. But then i think about the big picture and think its a pretty dumb idea even thinking of having another when i'll have 6 soon.People already look at me with disgust in there eyes almost like i have 10 heads because i have more then the norm family. So im really in two minds,i did say nomore this was it! But then when they defrost the eggs they dont all make it some do die if not all. Sooo i just dont know, what if they defrost all of them and they all make it! Then im really screwed.
WOW....i disappear for a few hours and look at your 2 gasbags (cheeky grin) Mummy25 i also have the filshie clips and they are still on, and i am going ahead with IVF. When i did my conference call to Westmead with my GP, i gave them a brief medical history over the phone, as i have a few more complications like endeometriosis and DVT's which means my treatment will be a little different, not to mention my age. I am putting 2 back in for several reasons and they agreed to that. They did stress like mumof5 said stop at 2. It doesn;t matter how much you beg to have more, they simply won;t do it. Having had several miscarriages also doesn't allow you to put more than 2 back in either. I can't even count how many loses i have had on 2 hands any more because i have also conceived and lost while clamped. One of those loses was a twin preg at 18weeks. Best of luck with your journey to have another baby. Cheers kiya
Sorry for disappearing off the face of the earth but I had a few issues to deal with.
Emm, I can hardly believe that you are 30 weeks already. I also would have wanted to knock their head in about getting a TL and the so called no side effects which we would all like to differ. I see that you are putting every one onto Westmead. I told you they were quite reasonable. LOL Maybe you should be their PR person.
I hope to hear some good news from you all soon.
I still have not got anywhere due to finances still be tight. I have promised myself if I get a tax return this year I will be getting it done.
Ang
 well you pointed me in the right direction in the first place and while we are the topic just maybe you should take some of your own advice and jump in feet first just like me. Come on just do it. I wonder if i'll get any commission by tell everyone about them . Honestly girls dreams do come true no matter what it is you have to do to get them.
Hows things been anyway Crazymum?????
i so agree Em.......hubby and i have decided to wait until i get my tax return back this year, only because #1 i will get a great return, and #2 i want to make sure that my new house is on it's way, so when bub is finally here, it will be in my new house not my old piece of wood. Hey Em speaking of houses, did you know that in the last 12mths there have been 8 new estates pop up in our area (Laidley). It is so hard to keep up these days. Cheers kiya
Omg totally know the show with the 12 children, love it....
But their children always seem to behave, and get along....... and the parents dont seem to yell much either....
Mine argue with each other all the time.... and the word MUM is the most used name in our house "mum he did, she did, MUM MUM MUM.......
In those shows the children help the parents and the parents always seem calm and never stressed.....
ask my eldest to help and she says "how much you gonna pay me" What Tha.....
(If my children were home schooled I would be stressed I am telling You!!!!..)
(that show was with the christians who home schooled their children and were at last count up to 15 children all with the names starting with the letter "J")
but there was a new one last night with 12 children 11 boys and one girl, where the hubby played in a baseball team with his boys)....
They all seem to have HUGE houses and Money???
I have a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house with 2 family rooms and a dble garage fully converted and being turned into a further 2 bedrooms in the next 12 months (just needs the wall down middle to seperate them) and we will have a 6 bedroom home and trust me my house is not even half the size of theirs on those tv shows....
I am 29 years old and I had my first child at 15 years old (mum forgot the talk LOL) and i am not married even know my partner and I have been together for 15 years, so I get the look alot and having a different surname to my kids I also get the are you their mum or aunty.....
even now the school still call me by his last name not mine.....
we were put on this earth to reproduce as many as we can handle, some pike out with 2, they may have nnice hollidays overseas, and spoil their kids rotten but are they happy???
we on the other hand have never left the state, our hollidays are spent camping with our children and everything we do is for them, never have my children missed a school camp or a friends party (unless they were Ill).
we are not rich but we do the best we can, Like all parents.....
No one should tell anyone that they should stop having baby's or enough is enough, we are all responsable for our own actions and if we want to have heaps of children then we can and we will......
I'll go for the Ivf in sydney and try once and see what happins, if it is ment to be it will....
If not I'll wait and try again....
HI KIYA, yes we have been gastbagging LOL, been finding out heaps of helpfull Info.
I hate these clamps I swear I can feel them and when I ovulate OMG it hurts....
I have dry skin now and I never had this before the clams went on....
and my moods change alot.... (at the moment it is from not smoking, but I have to stop or no baby.....)
I have searched the net and honestly found westmead to be the cheapest, some others said up to $7,000 just for IVF, so worth the drive /trip to sydney....
I hope they try with 2 for me, (just to give me a better chance)...
I watch alot of shows on foxtel which are birth shows and You see alot of complications with multiple births on there. (twins would be nice But one will do just fine),...
I have had 2 natural and 3 c's.
have had only 3 miscarriages but one was a twin with my daughter (second eldest) and the other 2 in between preg's, not as many as you have had.... But
I believe in fate and if it is ment to be it will happin, maybe not right away but it will happin eventually......
By the way my name is Jen LoL, Nice to meet you, (Both of You).....
