Ooer that's a gorgeous bookmark Sarah

I'm the same, can't stand corners turned down or when people bend the spine of the book all the way around!

My current bookmark is a standard one I got from Singapore with my Chinese horoscope on it and a red tassle.

    I'm a book mark girl

My mum bought me a beautiful thick card-like one when I was in my teens - a Taurus one, and it was infused with essential oils associated with the Taurean sign.
It has been my book mark through hundreds of books (and it used to leave the smell through all of them, too, which was lovely).... kind of lost its scent about 10yrs ago though

I would love a new one exactly the same, but have never seen anything even remotely the same.

All of my Harry Potter books have Harry Potter bookmarks - I'm a bit of a freak that way!

I easily get caught up in the hype with things like that

    Your bookmark is beautiful, Sarah

Use anything that's near, stubs, tissue - anything, but I would NEVER fold a page. I SOMETIMES use the outer cover's inner flap, kwim. But only for the first few pages.
And then I remember numbers. Currently I am busy with a Wilbur Smith and have no bookmark, but I am on page 247.

    What a lovely bookmark Sarah.

I try to use bookmarks, but Logan thinks it is hilarious to take the bookmark out and hide it, so most of the time they're reciepts or I remember the page number, or if Logan has just stolen my bookmark I just keep flipping through until I find where I was up to. I hate dog ear pages, it's a pet peeve, irritates me almost as much as seeing people attack books with hi-liters or bending the spine so the book is folded over. Yeah I'm a fusspot

Oh yes, me too Melinda, bending the spine gives me cold shivers!

How do you guys remember the page numbers??? I could go three days between reading sessions & there is no way I could remember a page number that long!

I buy bookmarks but usually end up using whatever is handy.
I usually try to read forward to an easy number to remember if I don't have a bookmark something that ends in 5 or 0 or an easy number like 44 or 66.
If I don't remember I just flip around the area I was in until I find where I was up to.

My current bookmark is about as useful to me as a chocolate fireguard.

Olivia made it for me, and it is really cute: her handprint and a poem, laminated. And I love it.

BUT every morning Olivia will come into bed with us, and see my current book, with the bookmark in it, on my bedside table, and grab it OUT OF THE BOOK and say "I made this for you Mummy"......and my place is lost again.......
