    Question Fav picture story book!?....

DH reads a story to Izzy every night after her bath and before bed. Its such a nice time for him to spend with her, and for her to hear his voice after not seeing him all day! I tend to buy one book pretty much every week for her - so she has some great ones! We love Hairy McLairy, Possum Magic, Not A Nibble, Going on a bear hunt, Kisses for Daddy, any Spot books and heaps of others!

I was recently checking out a list of 20 books all kids should have compiled by Mem Fox and DH and I were giggling about some of the books that he has read to her like Dr Dog (funny story!) and it got me thinking!!

What are you favorite picture story books? (You or your kids!!)

Yasin usually has a new one each week.
At the moment it's Olivia. He also loves Where the Wild Things Are, the Hairy McClary books, Maisy, Spot, Time for Bed, Where is the Green Sheep, Who Sank the Boat, the Mr McGee books, Ping, Hop on Pop, Let's Get a Pup, Queenie the Bantam.
he also loves the books with one word/picture to one page because he can 'read' them himself.

Imran love, love, loves Mr Brown Can Moo. He insists on having it read to him every night and that's enough. If I try to get down another book afterwards he cracks it rofl.

ETA - How could I forget the 'pillar book? lol.

Danni, I think Pmaela allen is our favourite author in this house at the moment. yasin loves lots of her books, the Grandpa & thomas ones are special favourites too and also the mouse one.
Have you got clippity clop? I don't read it often because all the puffing and blowing leaves me exhausted lol.

Charlie (age 2) is a huge fan of other Eric Carle books.......The Very Quiet Cricket is one, along with Brown Bear, What do you see? (I can recite this one in my sleep. I have to read it to him at leat 4 times before bed each night!)

Olivia loves anything by Shirley Hughes, and so do I. Beautiful pictures. (My parents read then to me when I was little!) Lucy and Tom's Day is beautiful, as is all of the Nursery Collection (especially "Colours".) & The Tales of Annie Rose (but we change the names to The Tales Of Livvy Lou, lol!

Wow Danni, thanks for the tip.

We love many of the ones mentioned. I also love books illustrated by John Butler (he has written and illustrated some too). We have Wake up Sleepy Bears - it started as a borrowed library book but we had to buy it after Jack decided to give it to Tom to eat (and rip) ! Another one we borrowed a while back that Jack just loved was called Outside Bears (trying to remember who wrote it - Sally something I think?). Also for the younger child (ie Tom!) the touchy feely ones are a huge hit like the That's not my.... series.

Second-hand stores are great for books. You can pick them up from 10cents a book, and some are like new.
