The $120 Food Challenge
But you all missed the most exciting part!!!! POACHING EGGS IN THE MICROWAVE!!!! 80's microwave cooking FTW!!
Well, spill then on the poaching.
I remember there were individual egg poachers in the first microwave starter kit I bought.
Ok you put in about 1cm water in a microwave safe mug or ramekin (we used ramekins). Then crack your egg into the water, then cover with cling film. Then the first couple of eggs are trial and error (depending on your microwave). The first 2 I did on high for 1 minute as suggested but they popped and exploded through the cling film. Then I put the power on 40% and cooked for 1min 40 and go the PERFECT poached eggs. I remember my mum used to do it with a buttered mug but they always exploded. this way worked perfectly. and they didn't stick to the ramekin. So easy cleaning too.

I am kicking myself for giving away mum's ramekins. I had them for ages and did not use them. In the past few years I realised that I need them back!
Wow Rouge, that sounds like an awesome breakfast. I'll definitely have to try your egg poaching secret. I've never had a success poaching on the stove and I love poached eggs. I even have some ramekins!!
