need ideas for lunch/snacks for 19month old

hi everyone, ive had a quick look through to try and get a few new ideas for lunch/snacks for Krystal!

i feel im always giving her vegemite/peanut butter on rice cakes! (maybe because thats what she always has! lol) she loves stras, but won eat it in a sanwhich, so i just give her a few shaved slices with some small squares of cheddar cheese. occasionally she'll have a yogurt, but thats more of a snack i think.

as for fruit, she will only eat bananas, she asks for apples and pears, but wont eat them if i give them to her!

    any ideas welcomed!!!!!!!

keep trying with small amounts of different fruits cos one day she will surprise you and eat them

Sometimes I give DS a plate with some rolled meat (stras, devon, silverside, chicken breats, whatever I have) cheese, sultanas, grapes, carrot sticks etc

He likes tuna and acovado mashed together (this is a nice rice cake topping if your DD likes rice cakes)
zucchini slice, savoury muffins and savoury pancakes
    meatballs
You can also use an english muffin a s a pizza base a nd grill some savoury toppings on top with a bit of cheese

    baked potato with baked beans

    ****tail franks

Rachel, some other fruit ideas that work for us are sultanas, dried apricots, oranges, mandarins, strawberries (sometimes), cherries (sometimes) and grapes. With the apple and pear, have you tried serving it in different ways? My oldest has only ever eaten apple if is whole (like mummy does!), so I peel it but don't cut it at all. My other son will only eat it cut into eighths - he likes pieces big enough to hold but not the whole apple.

Some other ideas are scambled eggs, omelette, zucchini slice, quiche, salmon patties, baked beans, vegie muffins, oatmeal cookies, vegie sticks and dip, boiled egg, left overs of any sort and salad. Really at 19 months my boys were pretty much eating anything so there are a lot of choices. My oldest still prefers sandwich and/or yoghurt for lunch though.

You can make your own fruit straps/leathers

line baking trays with baking paper and cover the baking paper in cling wrap trying to make it as wrinkle free as possible.
Puree your choice of fruit and push through a sieve. Then spread over the tray in a even layer. (Dont make it transparent)
Put in the oven with the door slightly ajar at 120 degrees (no fan), for 3+ hours to test. touch the centre, it should feel dry, not tacky
Remove from the oven and peel off the plastic, cut into ribbons with a knife or scissors.

I cant remember what site I got it off

    thanks ladies

ive come up with a list of a few ideas..

Scrambled/boiled eggs (with a piece of toast)
    pancakes
cheese & biscuits (maybe combine this with some cold meats)
cruskit/rice cakes - jam, honey, cream cheese.
    banana cake (cup cakes)

i always persist with the fruit, but i dont rely on them as i know she wont eat them, so i always have a back up! lol

    LUNCH
    piklets
corn fritters, pumpkin fritters, or bangers and mash type fritters
homemade fried rice - I've a really easy and yummy recipe so whenever we are eating dinner with rice on the side, I make extra so I can make fried rice.

    SNACKS
dried fruits - my kids love dates - but I try and limit the amount of dried fruit cause it is high in sugar
If they have lots of teeth and are good chewers, I give mine nuts. Good protein.
Dips and rice crackers. rice crackers by themselves
    my kids love cherry tomatoes
slices of ham, cubes of cheese
my daughter loves olives and gerkins and semi-dried tomatoes

Be wary of the straz and ****tail franks - there are a lot of preservatives in them. I've never seen my son go so nuts the day he had ****tail franks (just before he was two). I try to steer clear of additives and preservatives.
