cheats way to roast spud - electric frying pan!

check if your oven works properly hun - i know mum hasn't done a roast in the countertop thing - she always goes back to her oven for a roast...

i'm happy to help you out with cooking it - i tend but lamb (cos it tastes better) on the bone - probably about 2-2.5kg, put it on 160-180 (not sure exactly - the knob is broken lol) probably closer to 180, put it in between 2 and 3 in the arvo, water in the pan, and just cook it - check every hour or so. will ask mum if she has the destructions for the easy oven and can tell me what happens with roasts. i knon when she's cooking kiev's and stuff she turns it off for a while at the end cos it stays hot...

Yeah, I find the element too close. You can try putting the foil over the top but you have to tuck it in or else it gets sucked up!
That's why I turn it over - but it generally does cook faster 180 would be the best.

I don't know how I'm going to go when I get my real oven, I've adjusted everything in my head for the turbo thing...

you'll adjust pretty damn quick lulu

or you'll keep doing all your everyday stuff in the turbo thing - and you'll be competing with Cai for cupcake queen status!

I always think you can go wrong with a pot roast (unless you let it boil dry... or you have it up to boiling and you end up makin the meat tough... ... lol). Try one of them next. Oven roasts are HARD to get 'just right'. I've only just perfected my oven lamb roast; about 1kg goes in for an hour and a half on a slow oven 160-170. Chuck the vege in after half an hour, and YUM!

I think the secret is not to try too hard...
