Preservative FREE flat breads, wraps, etc...

Okay, I think this has been discussed before, but I'm going to ask anyway.

Can anyone tell me what flat breads, wraps, tortillas, etc, etc, are available (in supermarkets please) that do not contain preservatives, like 282 ? The tortillas and wraps I have seen all have this preservative in them, and to be honest, I don't want to give it to the kids, having heard that this particular number can have adverse affects on their behaviour. Which, let's face it, I am sure we all struggle with enough. I know I do.

    Many thanks.

There are some shockers out there. I think Mountain Bread is preservative free. I don't have any packs on me to check though.

I would love to know if anyone else knows of any.

Yep Mountain bread is just about everything free and yummy. It is a bit flimsy sometimes. I double up if I'm wrapping something juicy. I also tear it up into smaller bits and use it to dip in homus or other yummy dips. You can cut it into triangles and bake it to make chips too I think.

Mountain bread doesn't use soy flour either. Most of the breads in the supermarket sneak it in to their product.

Thanks Willow. I've made pita bread into oven baked 'chips' for dip, and that always works well. I just have to work out how to make the seasonings stick to the bread, so I can make some tastier ones for the Boy, lol.

Does Lebanese bread have any preservatives? I think it depends where you get it from. The ones in the supermarket I'm not sure but there is a brand of Lebanese bread made locally here that is preservative free stocked in the bakery and chemist.

The Lebanese bread in the supermarket is inferior. The stuff from the smaller shops is fresher and usually free of nasties.

I haven't bought lebanese bread, but I bought tortillas from the local privately owned f&v store thinking they'd be ok being from a local company & all but after reading the label, there were quite a few shocking numbers in there. At least one had a double sad face in the chemical maze book and was known to cause cancer . You really have to read the labels regardless of where it's from

Sorry Onyx, I just saw your post about soy flour. What is wrong with soy flour?
