    I'm going to go out on a bit of a limb here and add a bit more to my previous post.

    I agree that additives and preservatives in artificial form are a big concern in food and one that needs to be looked at. I think that it helps to take a big step back and look at the situation rationally.

    Obviously if you have an allergy, you need to be concerned about the additives that trigger it and avoid wherever possible. If you don't have a known allergy, it helps to be aware of the amount of processed food you eat and consider eating these in moderation if at all. I think children are in a more vulnerable position and these guidelines are particularly important for them as we've all seen the kid who has had Twisties and red cordial and gone berserk.

    Food shopping doesn't have to be a nightmare ... just buy and eat mainly fresh produce and you can't really go wrong.
