I don't preboil mine. Apart from anything else it saves dirtying an extra pot
Now that Rainbow Raver has gotten me excited about making scalloped potatoes with my chicken kievs tonight, i've found two recipes which as the potatoes boiled before going in the oven and another which doesn't mention boiling them.
How do you make them? Pre boil or not?
I don't preboil mine. Apart from anything else it saves dirtying an extra pot
i dont boil either!
LOL
much easier not to preboil, i agree. Who wants to scrub pot?
Not boiling then!
mmm now i want somewannna share ??
I'm going to be different here! I always preboil, the potatoes taste much better that way (imo!) much fluffier and softer and soaks the sauce up a lot better ... now i want scalloped potatoes .. wonder if we have enough cheese
ooohh I have never thought to preboil them... Might try that next time.
I tend to nuke them for a short while. That way they can be precooked in the same dish that I use in the oven.
I put mine into a microwave container with cream and cook them until they're tender... the cream gets thicker and the potatoes taste 100 times better IMO![]()
Id LOVE to make scallopped potato but DP doesnt eat potato![]()
You are ALL welcome to my place tonight for scalloped potatoes, kiev, salad and some red!
Now, i don't know what to do! Totally confused, whether to boil, microwave or use raw??
Thanks!![]()
Either way hun, they'll work out fine![]()
what time shall i be there TD?![]()
i actually assemble the dish, microwave till cooked then chuck it in the oven for 10 mins to brown up a bit
No boiling here, I slice them quite thin and use cream, bacon, cheese, onion and its delicious!
