I agree with Marydean about the salads, you can usually tell is a salad is looking a bit old - the greens wont look as crisp and light kwim? They look a bit droopy and lacklustre. it is always your right too as a consumer that if your meal doesn't look like it has been cooked properly to send it back to to kitchen. I don't order fish in a restaurant unless we are on the coast LOL - my general rule of thumb is you can't get fresh seafood when you live more than 6hrs from the sea I worry more about chicken than fish anyway. I think it is a gross generalisation to say that restaurants only use the 'leftovers' on their slower days regardless of what people may or may not have seen working in the industry, and if you did, then the restaurant was not up to stratch and you shouldn't eat there any day of the week.

I tend to eat ceasar salads, or steak when we go out if there is nothing else that takes my fancy.
