Where do you store your eggs?

It's so hot here atm, i'm not sure where the best place is to store fresh eggs? I don't want the to go off quickly and smell so on the bench, in the cupboard or in the fridge???

I put my eggs straight in the fridge when I get home. If I am going to cook something that needs room temp eggs, I take them out in the morning.
I am curious as to what everyone else does, the cartons say refrigerate, I know people who keep them in their pantry.

I keep them anywhere and everywhere. Cool place is best, but I usually check they are OK with the water test.

Sink= Bad and Float= Good?? Pretty sure that's how it goes.

Nope - float = bad (sulphur dioxide = rotten egg gas = float)

Sink good.

Definitely the fridge. Am pretty certain that it's sink = good, float = bad, as when eggs start to go bad gas is created inside the egg, and this makes it float.

Fridge, if you're baking its best to take out what you need the night before so they can warm up a little.

And float = bad, sink = good

had to have a second glance at what forum it was posted in, i seriously thought it was in the conception area..LOL.

My chook eggs are usually in the fridge, although had a visit from DD's great grandparents who live on a chook farm and they brought a tray of about 30 eggs down with them..so they are sitting on the bench because they won't all fit in the fridge.
And yep, if they sink (lying flat on the bottom) they are fine & fresh, if they sink but stand on one end then they are still ok to use but are starting to go stale and if they float toss them straight away!

We have chooks and I only put eggs in the fridge when we have more than 12..... I will put the new ones in the fridge and the older ones in the pantry. I use the room temperature ones first and then move the ones from the fridge into the pantry when they are needed. When we are low on eggs, I get them out of the coop and put them straight into our food!
