Just wanted to let you know that apparently it's quite common to have a small bleed some years before AF gets started for real. This is what happened to me - from memory I was 9 or 10 when I had a small amount (like less than a teaspoon) of brownish blood, and then got AF for real around 12 or 13. I haven't been able to find anything on the web to back this up, but I'm sure either I read it in a book or a Dr told me at the time

I really hope she isn't hun, but I think the best thing to do is talk to her about it and ask her. If it is AF, that will be hard for the both of you, but she's lucky because she has such a great mum to help her through it. 
)then maybe the next genaration is going to start even younger...
that is nothing more serious
