Gah! My 7 year old is a bottomless pit. No matter how much he's eaten he's always hungry. Always in the fridge or pantry. I get so sick of the phrase "I'm hungry". He's also skinny as a rake, so I have NO idea where it goes. Glad it's not just my DS!

As much as I will let her, and even more on occasion.

DD1 is beginning to eat a lot more, she used to just a few more mouthfuls than DD2, now she seems to be double! Well that is for lunch and dinner, breakfast they are opposite.

DS is only 5 but some days he really eats so much food. Last week he was crying he was so hungry and so I fed him even though it was just before dinner. He then ate two BIG snacks (e.g. a whole bowl of berries and then cheese and crackers), a huge amount of dinner and dessert. He will go through a series of days like that so I think he is preparing for a growth spurt or something.

My 5 yr old survives on next to nothing most of the time, but then has stages where she eats significantly more than me. She's a skinny minny and after the massive eating days her clothes are always too short (never too tight) so i just try to provide her with as many healthy options as I can and let her eat as much as she wants/needs. It can be a very expensive week of shopping though - food and clothes!

My 7yo doesn't eat what I'd call a lot. My 5yo on the other hand is an absolute hoover with food. He is constantly hungry, like me he eats often, and the amount of food he eats amazes me. He is one of those tall and skinny kids and is very active so I put it down to his metabolism. It is already costing me a fortune - if he comes grocery shopping with me he wants so much fruit it's amazing and he does eat it all. Worse still I rarely have left overs to take to work for lunch anymore because he'll eat everything that's left most nights. I'm dreading feeding him as a teenager.

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one with a child with a monster appetite. I was beginning to wonder if it was some kind of metabolic issue. He eats more than DH some days but he's a skinny little twig.
"They" warn you about teenagers with huge appetites but no-one ever told me that 7 year olds can eat your fridge bare in a day.
