I'm coming to your house rouge

My pudding is currently boiling away on the stove!

I also have 13 for dinner (7 for lunch) that's not including us so it's going to be busy. Dinner will probably be more cold meats etc

We're going out for lunch in Albert Park. This will probably be our last family Christmas as parents hate the cooking/home do & me and DH hate going out. It's so freaking expensive too I could not only buy Christmas lunch but trial it the week before too.

    I have 13 adults and 9 kids at my place this year and we do the whole traditional thing so;

    Roast pork and apple sauce
Roast turkey with stuff and cranberry sauce
    Honey glaze ham
    ALL the roast vegies
    Salads
    Some traditional Estonian sausage rolls
extra side bits like eggs, pickles and other weird assortments that have become traditional over the years for DH's family

    Dessert is pudding and custard
    Lemon curd cheesecake
Homemade icecream cake for the kids

Lots of extras like almond crescents, choc peppermint slice, chocolate balls (no rum likers), biscotti, etc etc etc Probably lots of chippies and stuff for the kids too.

All in all, enough food to feed a small African nation for a month and no doubt we will all be eating leftovers for the next week.

My parents will be over on Boxing Day for lunch and then we'll have a seafood bbq and salads

We used to bring different bits of stuff each but it became a bit of a nightmare so now the person hosting does it all, except a SIL usually likes to do the turkey. Should be a piece of cake between all day morning sickness and getting back into the country two days before . . .

Christmas pud and custard (still debating the recipe, MIL is over so we may do hers, otherwise I have been given one dating back to 1779)
    Vanilla snow pavlova with passionfruit

    Baileys - lots of Baileys
Christmas nibblie stuff - rum balls, pretzels

I am salivating reading all of this!!

I always buy one of the 2kg turkey rolls from Aldi, as cheap, feeds alot and is very easy to cook and carve.

Does anyone know is Christmas Ham different to normal ham? as in, I'm pregnant so can I eat it?

Those of you doing seafood = when do you get it?? We are doing dinner - 4:30 onwards on Sunday with DH's family, and are doing the shopping either later tonight or early tomorrow morning so a bit worried about freshness and might end up ditching the idea.

Tan we bought our prawns today. They are frozen and currently defrosting in the fridge.

It'll be fine if you buy them tonight or tomorrow. You'll be fine.

We got some prawns today too. If they are brought very fresh or are frozen, and stored correctly until you eat them, they will be fine for chrissy day.

Hmmmmm... Well we have a mix of ethnicity in our family group. So step mother is Thai, so we do t do traditional menu's. This year DH and I will be providing a fresh cray fish that I will be making into a seafood c**ktail type thing. Then we are also making Peking duck and serving it in those little pancakes. It will be lovely and fresh and cool. Plus cold ham I think. Step mum will no doubt cook up lotsa tasty things cos she always does.

We will have a gorgeous cheese platter too... Mmmmm. Oh and DH and I will start the day with smoked salmon, goats chèvre cheese and poached eggs with capers on toast, with a glass of champers . Oh I love Christmas! I wish I could have more than one drink tho!

    Sounds awesome.
    Forget the greens, they're over-rated!

As I am deemed unsuitable to host Christmas Day, I am hosting Boxing day for six adults and one Liebling. Nothing too fancy given we're out all day Christmas Day at BiL's house.

    Starter: stuffed mushrooms.
Main: Salmon in white wine, lemon and parsley sauce (Liebling has sausages), served with roast potatoes, jacket potatoes, brocolli, roast carrots and parsnip, asparagus and peas.
Dessert: Sticky Toffee Puddings, Baked Peaches.
Cheeseboard (five normal cow cheeses plus one goat and one sheep cheese, 6 types of cracker)

For a supper, I was thinking the leftover jacket potatoes re-heated with sausages and a light salad. Or fresh potatoes. Or even chips, see how the mood takes me. I could do a rice salad if I fancied it.
We then have banana loaf, lots and lots of chocolates and fruit to eat. The supper may be unneccessary.

For drinks, we have red and white wine, two bottles of Asti and fresh orange juice.
