Thumbs up New Years Resolution - C25K

C25K, is a fantastic program that's been designed to get just about anyone from the couch to running 5 kilometers or 30 minutes in just 9 weeks.
Alrighty I have decided that I'm going to start the c25k program on the 3rd of January (so I can do Mon/Wed/Fri runs) & wondered if anyone wanted to join me?

If you want more details, check out the website - Couch to 5k - C25K Running Program

I will! I did it a few months ago outdoors, but am finding it really difficult to swap to treadmill running at the gym so have been thinking about starting again

I have downloaded Nicole blum's podcasts for the timing and also have the iPhone app.

    Ready when you are!

Are you running outside, on a treadmill at home or gym Sarah?

I was thinking if you were running outside we could do it together every second week or something as I will be doing most of my running at the gym.

I'd like to join in too! I'll be runnning on Mon, Wed and Sat so I'll start the 3rd also.

I keep thinking of reasons why I shouldn't, too heavy, too unfit, too hot to run in a Perth Jan Feb or March, but I think I'd make excuses if it was winter too! I need something like this to get motivated, and the group support to stick with it, so count me in

You know what. Count me in. I ALWAYS make excuses but being summer it is light later, I can go when DH comes in the door and be back in time for dinner/bath etc. Will do Mon, Tue and Fri when working and Wed instead of Tue when I am on holidays and then one weekend day as well.

Off to download the app! I MISS running so much.

You know it's funny, I make time for everything and everyone else except me. I KNOW I need to lose weight, I know I feel better when I exercise, I know it's way better for my mental health, especially if I am feeling good about my body shape etc. but I don't do it and I dunno why I don't MAKE the time like I do with everything else. Nobody else is stopping me other than me and I just don't know why I don't. Laziness and tiredness does come in a bit but if I have people keeping me accountable it will really help.

I'm going to have to put starting on hold. I've been doing trial jogs the last few days, I walk the dog every morning, and my left knee just can't handle it yet. I injured it a couple of months ago and it's still not 100%, I get a lot of pain during the jogs so I think I need to work on strengthening it more before starting. Losing a few kilo's will help take the pressure off it too. I'll keep walking and keep watching this thread - good luck
