Better get onto this one so that I don't get lost!

Arrgh! Miss J now just laughs at us when we are telling her off. She asks to go into the corner - I think she thinks it's a joke! It's wearing very thin.

Maybe if I start now I won't get so lost???

Nai - how funny! Miss I doesn't always do what we say either... But she still does cry when I put her in the naughty corner. She's started saying "No!" when I tell her to do something!

She's doing our heads in tbh!

How's everyone else going? I will really try and keep up better...

Malyna - lots of stuff similar to boys, eg wooden puzzles, more advanced blocks/building stuff, painting/craft stuff, books... DD got some baking stuff for her bday (an apron with her name on it, some kids cooking utensils, etc), Thomas stuff... then some girlie stuff like DD got a doll's house, hair ties, a brush, some clothes...

Wow Det - 70 houses!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations on finding "the one"!! Did you just "know" straight away that it was the one, or did you have to weigh up pros and cons with others you liked?? Ahhh geez house-hunting seems so stressful!

Leon's a little horror at times too - he is such a character, it's amazing how their personalities are just shining through now! He often says "naaaahhh" and "yeeahh" so now I'm making a more conscious effort to say "yes" and "no" very properly!! Haha!

We are having dilemmas with clingy-ness still. Am thinking of buying him his own bed once and for all, I just need him out of our bed as he's becomming so disruptive and naughty at bed time. Don't know how I'm going to get him adjusted to sleeping on his own, but here goes!

Has anyone thought about 3yo kinder next year?? I have put him on 12 waiting lists!! There are a heap of kinders/elc's near us and a lot of them are already full so we won't find out til mid year which, if any, he gets into. Shell - you live near me, where do you recommend??

Anyway, hope you're all well. Talk soon!! xox

ETA - is anyone still breastfeeding?!!? I am!! Am trying really hard to cut down as I am over it, but L is well and truely addicted. I don't want him still feeding at 3 years old, but can't see him self-weaning at all so I'm pretty sure I'll have to be the meanie and I really don't know how to go about it

Holly- prob I've found with Kinder around here expect them to be 3 by end Jan so being Feb babies they miss cut off for 3 year old kinder. Unless they can start term 2? Also heard very hard to get into. One mum told me she lined up at 3am on the day of enrollments to score a place.

Hello everyone!! Haven't really caught up, a little busy here. But DD2 is sleeping atm and playschool is on so I can write a quick post, LOL.

Holly- I'm still breastfeeding! But she only has 1 feed a day. She would have more if I let her but I am able to distract her a lot of the time. I'm just trying to keep it at one feed a day seeing as I have another one to feed too! I don't know what I'm going to do, I want her to self-wean but I don't see it happening soon either so I'm just going with it. It's not such a big deal if I can keep it at 1 feed a day I think. But a bit annoying when she wants it lots. But she loves it so much and she still gets so excited when she can have a feed and I get beautiful cuddles so I can't take it away from her.

The terrible two's haven't really hit here yet I don't think. She's a pretty good girl and generally listens to me when I tell her not to do something. She has a few little tanties but I just ignore them if she's obviously just putting it on to try and get her way. But she wants to do EVERYTHING herself now which means everything takes 3 times as long. Bit frustrating and I have to try and remember she just wants to learn and be patient. It's either be patient and wait or don't let her do it and deal with a tantrum so I'm trying to be patient when it's something she can do herself.

Umm...what else? 3 yr old kinder we're not doing. I think I'm waiting til she's four. But I would like to do one more activity during the week to keep her occupied. Something I can do and take DD2 aswell though, not sure what, any suggestions??

    Holly - still BF here.

Det - 70 houses!! Glad you finally found one you liked!

AFU - got a cold-ridden household, DS is being extra clingy and has woken at 1.30-2am for the last three nights and it's taken 2+hours to get him back to sleep each time, so we are all exhausted. Will be really glad when this cold is over with.

holly we feed once a day after brekky about 4 times a week. with kinder DD will do 3 yr old in 2012, not next year, so she'll be older (i think im the only one holding back) but she ill do toddler group next year with me. our kinder applications for out council are differnt to most in that u apply directly to the kinder, ours have nly just come out for next year, i strongly strongly recomment they do 3 yr old in vic as with things changing in 2013 i know at our kinder we have to drop an entire group to fit in the extra hours and if you havent done 3yr old at our kinder you wil have NO hope of gettin into our 4 yr old program, so even if they dont do 3yr old next year cos they dont get in try for 3yr old for the following year,,

Ahhh so quite a few of us are still breastfeeding!! Heaven, I do really love the cuddles and bonding when we feed during the day, but I do not like the complete dependence on it to fall asleep and all throughout the night to resettle. I actually can't stand it!! It's a real problem that L can't fall asleep without my boobs...I am having an operation in July and I need to be in hospital overnight and I have no idea how L is going to cope without me so that's why I'm stressing now about weaning, especially overnight.

Shell, I heard about people lining up too!! Was that Bentleigh West?? I have called so many kinders/day cares/elcs in our area and most have a cut off of 3 years by april 30th. HOWEVER - they cannot attend kinder until they turn three - so I will enrol Leon and he will miss out on the first 3 or so weeks but then he can start going. Mckinnon kinder is the one I wanted him to go to but their cut off is 3 years old by Jan 31st, which sucks!! Atm, we are going to look at East Bentleigh Preschool and Centre Road Kindergarten, coz they're the only ones that have a good chance of getting into.

Olive, a few people have suggested holding L back a year too, but I'm not sure - I'm going to see how he is in 6 or so months time and decide. If I do hold him back he will be 4 years old within a few weeks of starting 3yo kinder, which might be fine for him developmentally, but we'll see!! And yes, I've heard there will be changes - are they phasing out 3yo kinder to give more hours to 4yo or something like that? I also noticed a lot of kinders I've spoken to give preference to children who will also be doing 4yo there, and families who already have sibling there etc, which makes it even more difficult. Also, the day care centres and elc's are just waiting list only atm, coz most of their kinder spots get taken by the toddlers already there that are moving up.

So frustrating... and it's only kinder...I haven't even thought about primary school!!

Heaven, we do gymbaroo and Leon LOVES it - a few of the mums bring their younger ones and they just sleep in the pram. Siblings aren't allowed to use the equipment, so when DD2 gets a bit older it might get a bit hard trying to keep her distracted, and a bit unfair too!! Do you go to a playgroup? We do playgroup as well and siblings are always more than welcome.

    Anyway, gtg, talk soon everyone!!
