Hey girls, Sorry for the lack of personals today. Everyday this week I have tried to post and lost it #-o Just slightly peeing me off. Anyway just a quicky to say that we are off to Tresillian today for 5 day so I won't be back til next Tuesday.
Hopefully Mark doesn't completely kill my puter in that time.
I hope that you are all going well and bubs are being good little people. I will miss being on here for that week. Sad I know, but I really do love being a part of BB.
Fingers crossed that I come back with a baby that knows how to sleep properly and with a few hints for others.
Did I mention that I really don't want to go today. I've been having headaches all week and my shoulders are killing me. They always ache and burn when I',m stressed.
Oh hugs Trish, I would be apprehensive about going as well... I do hope it all goes great guns and Tehya and you come back happier. Try and relax, we will be thinking of you.
We seem to be finally over gastro. No dirty nappies only wet ones and no vomiting \/
I never thought i would be so happy about changing a nappy now it is just wet.
Trish - Hope you are feeling better soon and your headache goes.
Trish - good luck @ Tresillian. I am sure you will be fine!
Sarah - sheesh.. I hope the Dr. listens to you and does something about Zander's reflux.
Fi - a friend of mine wrapped her little boy until he was 10 months old because he wouldn't sleep otherwise. I think that will be the case with Gabby! LOL
Ok... brain is fried so HELLO to everyone and will catch up later!
trish - best wishes for you. I hope it all goes OK, and you come away with a few tips for the rest of us!
Deb/Sarah - We use a little roll/wedge thing for Jenna to sleep between, and we sleep her on her side, so I'm not too fussed about keeping her arm out. Occasionally she has rolled herself onto her stomach (or has done a bit of an exorcist thing, body one way, head the other LOL) and she always gets her head up OK.
When she does occasionally get an arm out (like last night....) she just wont settle herself, so I'm happy to wait a bit longer.
Yay! 2kg lighter on the scales already this morning! I'm sure its not 100% correct as it would be pretty silly to lose 2kg in 4 days, but at least the scales are heading in the right direction! I just have to do some crunches to get these abs back into their previous chubby (not jelly) existence!
Fi, I do wrap Kynan now (he went through a period where he didn't like it) but I have it so that his hands are near his mouth as he loves his thumb. Woohoo for the weight loss. Congrats!!
Tanya, that's interesting about the abcess on your friend's DD's thumb. I will have to keep an eye on Kynan's and if it looks like it might get yucky then I might have to start wrapping his arms down of a night. Geez he'll hate me then LOL. Hope today's as good a day for you as yesterday!
Belinda, aww how cute of Mason to be so keen to get out of the car to his daddy LOL. Good luck with the house hunting.
Sarah, sounds like Zander might need to keep going with the Losec.
Michelle, glad to hear both Alex & Kimberley are doing better now. Good luck for Alex's scan next Thursday!
Shannon, urgh @ the 4am feed! Good luck for the appt today. Hope it goes well!
Trish, bummer about losing your posts! Good luck at Tresillian!
LOL I'm feeding Kynan at the same time as typing and he knows he doesn't have my full attention so he keeps pulling off the boob and smiling up at me and making his cute little noises. Cheeky little thing. We got one of those fitball things for him the other day on the CHN's recommendation. We put him on his tummy on it and it's great for getting him to hold his head up.
Wow that's an interesting way of getting Kynan to put his head up Angel, never would have thought of something like that! LOL at him trying to ge your attention cos you're typing!
First of all Shannon, how did the surgeons go?
Okey dokey here goes... Our Dr said when Zander was first diagnosed with reflux (at 2wk 1day) that he should be over i by the time he's 14 weeks old. So the idea was to slowly wean him off the Losec & he'd be off it at 14 weeks. As I've said before we had a nightmare three days & I just said nope he's not ready to come off it & put him back on. At 4months when he had his needles done the Dr said seeing as he still had it, he should be over it by 6months. So he went back on the 2 doses a day for a month, then now he's on 1 dose a day for the rest of this month. I honestly don't think that he's going to be better in the next 3 weeks. The Losec stops the acids forming in his stomach completely, it makes no difference whatsoever to the spewing, it just doesn't hurt him anymore. Yesterday I gave him he table in the morning to see if that would make a difference & he seemed to settle a little better. We were still up 3 times but that's nothing compared to the 7 the night before. So I haven't given it to him yet thinking that maybe if he has it in the middle of the day it might be better, at the moment it's just trial & error, but really he was much better on the 2 doses a day. No worries about all the questions, I was exactly the same a few months ago - only I was asking Christy!!
Yay on the weight loss for you Fi =D>
Hi Deb!!!! Not much to reply on there LOL!
Yay for the gastro being gone Michelle \/
You'll be right Trish. Try to enjoy your time away, I know it's no a holiday but you know what they say - change is as good as a holiday!
Trish - We`re thinking of you, hopefully you`ll feel better once you actually get there
Michelle - Yay that Alex and Kimberley are finally over their gastric
Angel - Yep blisters here, Matthew was born with them one actually got quite nasty by the time he was 10 days but thankfully healed, he has had more since then and with the cold weather we were having I was finding that he had wet cold hands which turned quite dry because of them forever being wet so I put some papaw ointment on which healed them and now I put sorbolene on them daily, he just loves his hands that the last few days he`s wanting BB`s plus hands in the mouth while feeding so I`m having to hold his hand while feeding hopefully he`ll get out of this silly habit soon. Isn`t it gorgeous when they look up at you, smile and make their lovely baby noises.
Shannon - Good luck today, will be thinking of you.
Fi - Yay at your weight loss that`s terrific.
Sarah - I hope Zander`s reflux gets better once you start solids.
Deb - I hope you get through your work load today
Belinda - Sorry I don`t think I`ve welcomed to to the 3 - 6 month thread, time goes quickly.
Matthew woke at 2.30am but was down by 3am and didn`t wake again until 8am so that`s not too bad, he didn`t want his usual morning 30 minute nap this morning but is down now and has been for the last 1.5 hours so I`ve been able to clean the bathroom/toilet and mop the floors I`ll do the kitchen, dusting and vaccumming this afternoon and tomorrow morning. Matthew`s still sneezing his head off so I hope that`s all he`s going to do.
Trish - Good luck at Tresillian. Hope it does the job for you.
Michelle - Glad to hear the Kimberley and Alex are felling better.
Fi - Woo hoo on losing the 2kgs!
Shannon - Bummer on the night waking. Good luck for the appointment today.
I've spent the morning busily trying to pack for the weekend and I still have no idea what to take. There is now just crap laid out all over my bed so I thought I would pop in to stop me from going nuts. How much stuff do I really need to take for Jeff, Jacob and me for 3 days in the snow??? At the moment it looks like we are moving LOL!! And............. what the ???? do you pack for a ****tail party at the snow - a yeti costume???? ](*,)
Well I might pop of and do some relaxing cruising around ebay for a while before going back and facing the packing.................................
Sarah, yeah apparently tummy time on the fitball is also good for their balance and hand-eye co-ordination (if you put toys on the floor and roll the ball forward to get them to pick a toy up). The CHN said you could even do it with a beachball.
Deeanne, wow sounds like you're on a house cleaning roll LOL. Yay for Matthew having a good sleep! LOL @ Matthew trying to put his hands in his mouth whilst feeding.
Nat, hope you have a fantastic weekend!! And good luck for the rest of the packing LOL.
Just thought I'd pop in and say bye for the weekend. Off to bed for a couple of hours sleep since I'll be back up again at 4:30am so we can check in by 7am arggggg. Nighty night and have a good weekend.
Have fun, Nat! I love going to the snow. Hopefully we will get to go next year LOL @ the Yetti Costume.
Angel - good to hear you have found a way to get Kynan to hold his head up a bit more.
Dee - wow! You sounds like a "woman possessed" with all that housework!! It's good when they sleep for a bit longer so you can get stuff done.
Shannon - hope your appointment with the surgeon went well and they were able to establish some dates. Hope you got an ok sleep too!!
Fi - yay for losing 2kgs! It's not unusual to lose between 1-4 kgs in the first week of dieting because your body kind of goes into shock. I know with my first week on WW, I lost 3kgs but then put 1kg back on the week after (even though I did nothing differently).
Trish - hope it's going well!!
Well, I am pretty stuffed!
The Blokesworld boys didn't get here until 8:30pm and, by that time, Neil had filled his garage with blokes! LOL I had bought some BBQ stuff but not nearly enough to feed the 30 odd men out there. One of their wives came along with her baby to keep me company while I hid inside.
It was soooo bizarre to have the television camera and "famous people" (albeit minor) in our back yard! We peeked through the back door because we didn't want to get one camera.
Neil had a fantastic time. He was right in his element. Hopefully his segment will be played on TV within a couple of weeks!
I finally have the cold that Gabby had last week so I feel like crap. She had an extra nap last night (due to the fact that the last of the blokes didn't leave until 12am :roll so she only slept for 5 hours. I mean, she woke up at a normal, decent hour, but it meant that I had less sleep. With a cold, it feels ick. So I am still in my PJs and will be heading back to bed once I have finished here.
nat - Have a wonderful time away. I haven`t been to the snow since I was in Year 6.
Deb - I would have been doing the same, hiding inside. Great that Neil had a great time, he`s probably still on cloud 9. I hope your feeling better soon.
Angel - How`s Kynan going with the fitball.
Looks like Mr Matthew has enough of talking to the Baby in the mirror while being on his tummy but just quickly at 4 months is there an increase in Baby`s intake of milk as the last 3 or so days my BB`s have suddenly got such a huge supply yet again, just when they`d only settled down 2 weeks ago so I was able to feed off both sides, it`s now back to 1 side a feed and it`s gushing everywhere, I`m not worried about it just wondering if it`s normal at 4 months for the babies to drink more.
Dee - yep... definitely. I heard somewhere that babies do have a big growth spurt around the 4 month mark. Gabby was certainly a little fuss pot around that time and she fed and fed and fed..
Good to hear that you have an abundant supply tho! I guess the old saying "Milk it for all it's worth" would be appropriate here
Shannon, sounds like a good routine you have started, it won't be long and she won't be able to keep her eyes open after that time...
Bummer about the op being sheduled 4 the new year.
Dee, sounds like youbb's have finally caught up with matthew I hope as a result he is more settled in the evening.
Deb, I'll have to tell Wato to keep his eyes open for that episode, I might even have to watch
Yay Nat!! So glad your off 4 for hliday... lucky duck!! LOL at the Yeti costume
Angel the fitball is a great idea!
Well done with the weight loss Fi!!
Well took Em swimming today... got Wato a harmonica 4 fathers day
Violet is really trying to push off when she is on her belly... her little bum goes in the air... doesn't quite get anywhere yet...
Zander is the same as Violet at the moment Tanya - he keeps trying to crawl but just doesn't get anywhere yet!
Aww for you Shannon, sounds like you're having a rough day. I don't mean to be rude, but is Jess ok with not having the operation for another four months, I mean she's not in pain or anything is she? Are there many more operations after this one? Yay on starting a new routine, I probably should do that too! Hopefully she'll get used to it soon & give mummy some much needed rest. The worst thing is trying to get her out of the habit of you patting her to sleep is that maybe she'll go back to it after her operation - one of the boys from MG had a major kidney operation a little while ago cos his ureters (I think) were narrowed & afterwards he went back to need patting & rocking. His mum finally got him out of it but he has to go in for his cleft palate op in 2 weeks so she's expecting it to go downhill again.
I didn't notice Zander drinking more at 4 months Dee, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen! This year has pretty well been a blur! Wowee at all that cleaning as well, can you come to my place when you're done
Sounds good about the show Neil's going to be on - make sure you tell us when ok Deb? And bugga about the cold, hopefully it departs very quickly.
I have a fitball here Angel, so I might try it - Zander is good with his head control, but balance & hand eye coordination is always good to work on.
We had the *worst* vomit ever this morning, it was downright scary. I got Zander up at 7.30, changed his nappy gave him his bottle & we were in the car by 8am. Drove to work & got there right on 9.00 and he had slept most of the way. I had to take the capsule for mum to put him in her car so I got it out, put him in & did up his belt. He spewed, I am sure, the entire 240ml bottle. It was fullon exorcist style, I was waiting for his head to spin round But seriously he vomited like an adult would & it projectiled, he even had me gagging it was that bad. He started coughing halfway through & he looked quite scared by the whole thing. Buuut once it was over he was smiling again!
