We had a much better night last night but still have a headache which I've had for last 2 days!

SJ- Thanks I didn't even think about putting her back on first side! And I have been forcing myself to drink more water and less tea which I think has helped, she seemed bit more settled so might've been a growth spurt or something. Your Dh is great! Hope Grace is more settled today.

ALi- Grr, you might need to have a chat with him and tell him how important family time is to you, and that you understand he may need time to himself but you also need him to spend time as a family. Maybe come up with some plan that he can go do such and such but then a certain time is to be spent as a family. I've had to have those sort chats in the past with Df.

Nai- So cute, hope she doesn't suck it off, lol. I'm very impressed how good you are with going gym! I just feel too tired for excercise but do try force myself to walk.

Kaz- good luck with the WW, how much weight do you want to lose? They have some nice desserts in there range.

Tarkine- when i had Ash i got into books, cause she was such a booby girl I'd put her on the boob, sit in bed and read and she'd sleep on my booby.

Det- wow its a pretty bog trip in just 2 days! Bet yr nan will be so excited tho, be great surprise for her, too bad you couldn't have gone bit longer.

Meg- good on you with train trip! I hate peak hour trains even without kids! Your poor Dh wouldn't have enjoyed footy too much.

mhami- i'm impressed with the BFing while in carrier walking! Thats talent!

we're still trying to work on second sleep cycles here, she goes down ok usually for first then spends next sleep cycle crying and i have to let her sleep on me which is hard with toddler as well

laura how is bella doing? you have any follow up appts?

    Hi girls,

AJP - Can you update the babies list in the first post please? Jacob was 11 days late. Thanks hun.

Nai - LOL at no news! That is a good thing. Yay for J settling herself too.
Shell - Try not to worry about Es weight. I know its hard not to but I found the more I stressed about how much Jacob was "getting" at each feed, the less he seemed to drink because I was so focused on it and trying to get him to stay on each side 20 mins. Nearly drove me bonkers. But then he turned around and put more on next weigh in anyway. I'm sure she's getting what she needs - it could be a growth spurt atm and she is working to increase your supply. If it's any consolation, Jacob has been screaming at me most feeds for the past few days. I am over it and now just taking him off when he starts (if he's had both sides). He feeds every 2 hours from mid morning anyway!
Ellie - good to hear from you. Take care.
Ali - Sounds like you both had different priorities that day. Enjoy your trip away - we'll miss you.
SJ - A physio visited you? Wow. I didn't get anything like that and I went private! No one told me anything about post-op care or recovery and I wasn't with it enough to ask. I think they put me in the 'educated/done a lot of reading' box and decided I knew what I was doing which is total bulldust!!

AFM - Not much to report here. Jacob screaming most feeds now in between actually feeding. Not sure what the go is there. He's happy before (usually), during nappy change in the middle and afterwards so

kaz did a physio come see you in hospital????
i had physio come twice, dietician due to the bloodloss and a counceller about PND does your local public hospital have a physio department?? maybe give them a call/
not sure why jacob would be screaming, might be the letdown been slow, have youtried feeding him in the bath?? makes you both nice a relaxed.

nai no news is good news!! great to hear your going to the gym!!

ellie lurk away hun!! i do plenty of that!!

shell only about half our sleeps are longer than one cycle, somethimes im lucky and she grumbles for a few minutes then goes back to sleep, or stays asleep, one cycle goes far too quickly!

ali glad you guys had a chat yay for a holiday!!

were doing well!! millie is sooooo cute DH and FIL have been assembling the girls cubby house which is now done.
tried millie with a bottle of EBM yesterday and she wouldnt have a bar of it so i got a different bottle today and she took it, will try again later with some more!

Shocking day here, Em screaming, won't sleep unless held and even thats a battle. She has few short happy periods. Df annoyed me, he was out this morn and I called him to come home cause I couldn't cope with Em screaming and being unable to do anything for Ash. He comes home and lies on couch and does nothing, I ask him to get Em to sleep and he hands her over to friend of ours to do while he naps on the couch! I don't think he's ever settled her. Like now he was cuddling her she got whingy and hes just dumped her in the bouncer and gone outside for smoke.

Shell - you hit the nail on the head. I read the twilight saga (2000pages-ish in a week). have started reading them again to fill in the time.
DH has just bought me the first three harry potter books to read.

Hope your DH/DP have got a great Mother's day lined up for you all next sunday. DH was talking about taking us to a hotel, so I could order room service! the only way I'd get brekky in bed is if someone makes it!!
I've also told him I want flowers -figure I will just tell him what I want - make it nice and easy for him!

Sorry you had a bad day Shell. DF needs to pull his weight.

Ali - How are you going after your little altication with your partner?

Hmm Kaz, not sure what the issue would be. Emilia is now really fussing on the boob and crying and pulling off etc, but give her a bottle and she takes the feed happily.

Hi Ellie, nice to hear from you.
Nai - Did you attend a physio session while in FPH? As thinking about it, there was a girl in my session that had just had a baby called Juliette. I was in a session with another girl with really long hair that had twins. The twins were in care though.

Emilia is not sleeping well at all during the day. Really not settling well at all. Getting a fairly ok stretch of up to 7 hours overnight, but after the 7 hour stretch she was up pretty much after that. Then at about 8am she did the most exposive poo!!!!

I have made a referral to the sleep school for an instay, as she is just fussing so much at feeds as well now, I think we would benefit by looking at the whole picture.

Nai- thats good things are going along nicely. THe gym thing sounds good. I wont let myself join a gym as I waste to much money by not going. I do have a prper treadmill sitting in my lounge room right in front of me but I just look at it all day. No joke it is right in front of me about 3m away! I have been on it for a total of 30sec! I do go out walking the pram everyday though.
Shell- These DP's need a lesson from Heavens hubby I think! DP said to me as much as he loves Ashlyn now he cant wait until she is on the move and can do more stuff with him (which I can kind of understand). He did bath her last night though and he was amazed at how much she enjoyed it.
Heaven- Your DH sounds like he is a gem!! Ashlyn;s sleep is still all over the place as well. Last night she went down at about 10pm in her bassinette and didnt wake up until 4am (that is rare) the night before that was shocking and who knows tonight. She is asleep in her bouncer and has been since 8pm. I dont want to move her seeming I am still up and I could risk waking her up if she is moved.
Ellie- Good to know that you are still around even if it is lurking, thats okay.
Megie- We made up the way grown ups do but thats a whole nudda thread!!! Thanks for asking.
Kaz- I have noticed at some feeds Ashlyn does that screaming thing, esp if I am not paying attention. You are doing a great job hun. My dogs are going great, poor Max has a shocking haircut after last Sunday but it is growing, they are so good around Ashlyn but very neglected in regards to walks. They havent been for 2wks!!! They do play and run around with each other in the backyard with the ball and get plenty of cuddles. I have noticed that Ashlyn watcheds them more and more now and they are good at entertaining her when she is in her bouncer. How is your dog going?
Tarkine- It is good to just tell them how it is sometimes, then they cant get it wrong.
Jols- what bottle did you get? Glad it helped and Millie will take it now.
Laura- I am glad that little Bella hasnt had anymore fits. What a stress for you. Hope you have had a good week.

AFM-Taking Ashlyn to get her vax tomorrow. I decided I am going to do it. Its such a hard decision but the pros for me outway the cons. Just a question for those who have already vaccinated their children, did you give them panadol jsut before the injection or afterwards? Also if I put Ashlyn on the boob during it, will it ease the pain for her? (I remember doing this in hossy fo the heel ***** test and she didnt cry). Just wanting your thoughts. Hope you all had good weekends

    hey all
just a quickie as its 2am! LOL
    home from a fantastic weekend
my nan was so stoked- said its the best thing someone has ever done for her- really put the pep back in her step- she went crazy at Levi and was soo surprised!! When i got there she wasnt home to start with- her water aerobics class started an hour later for the first time this week doh- so i went to the shops for an hour and when i got back to their house they had only been home for 15 mins so it worked out great! Drove into her drive way bipping the horn and could hear her going crazy when she realised it was me!
it was awesome - have always wanted to surprise her with a visit- and i finally did it! So glad that she met Levi as she was suppose to be down for his birth, but her DH had to have a major operation so they couldnt come down. Then she was gonna come down in May but she has a frozen scaiatica and cant sit for more than minutes at a time, so a plane ride is out of the question.
They come down to melb every year from dec to feb and last/this year was the first time since she has been up in cairns for 27 years that she hasnt come down. The poor woman also missed the twins birth by 2 weeks, as they were so early. I think me giving birth jinxes her.

levi was an angel when i was away- esp on the plane- he slept the whole time from tarmac to tarmac on the way back- and even slept from 11pm till 6 straight and then back to sleep till 9.30 as well last nite in his bassinet in the pram.
the only time he cried was when he was in the car- he hates the car as well!! he actaully gets tears and everything- so when you get any luck how to keep them calm in the car- let me know as well. i reckon he gets car sick and he has possitted a little bit after been in the car a few times.

the twins were happy to see me and DH has even cleaned up the loungeroom and done the domestics- what a man
all is quiet in the house and everyone asleep so time for me to go zzzz as well- gotta be up in 4hours for school drop offs- fun fun fun

feel like i have been away for 30 days- not 30 hours- ah time flies . . . .

btw totally recommend travelling Virgin with babes- they were soo helpful- could take pram to stairs of the plane- and staff were awesome, making sure i was briefed personally on where bubs things were etc, and even offered a hand getting off/on, let me board first to give me time etc. GO VIRGIN!!

    mwah and take care girls

ali i didnt give panadol because it can mask any reaction, millie didnt need it either.
i put her on the boob but she screamed and screamed so no t much sucking happened.
millie also screamed for her bloodtests too though, but they were pretty mean!
    lol at the treadmill!!!
bottle i got the pigeon peristaltic ones

tarkine the hotel sounds lovely!! i just want brekky in bed, a sleep in and some flowers!

meg when do you go to sleepschool???

det wow your nan must have been stoked!!!what a special moment for her!!! glad levi was great on the plane!

Det - that's awesome that your nan was so happy!

Ali - I didn't give any panadol, but you can look into Emla (??) if you are worried. Miss J just had a quick scream with the injections and stopped as soon as I put her on the boob afterwards. She liked the rotavirus oral vaccine and sucked it down happily. I have Miss J taking an Adiri bottle which is BPA free and supposed to be the closest thing to boob - I got it from the Expo last year. The gym - well I'm already a member so I guess I had better use it. Also when I start teaching swimming later in the year I will get my membership for free so it's not a huge issue.

Meg - no I didn't go to the physio class - I thought about it and now I wish that I did as I may have met you!! The physio came and saw me in my room though.

Tarkine - I have asked for either a) tickets to French & Saunders or b) a pedicure voucher - the state of my feet is just horrendous!! Genevieve will make something at childcare which will be the best gift and hopefully a sleep in and breakfast in bed. Not asking of rmuch am I?
