Which is better, a bar or a ring?
i think i'd go ring to start with... just for the keeping clean factor. the wound is open and is able to breath, kwim?
Pfft at the pain. I had both mine down took them out and they healed over so I have scar tissue and then had them redone a few years later.
My belly button and eyebrow hurt more than my nipples, DH agrees his belly was worse than nipple.
Bar v ring, depends what you like. I prefer bars, looks nicer IMO.
Apparently it hurts males more than females because they have more nerves in that area. something about they way nerves disperse when the area develops on females.
Also avoid plush towels to dry the area after you get it done because the loops get caught if towel's a tad pulled IYKWIM. maybe a waffle cotton tea towel and dab the area (not rub in case of a loose thread) while it's healing.
A bar to begin with it allows the fistula to heal straight, you can then switch to a ring if you choose to. Getting a piercing and allowing it to heal with a ring in can then become an issue should you wish to switch to a bar as the hole can heal wonky. This is very common with navel piercings, that are typically pierced with a ring, upon switching jewellery the piercee will find the jewellery (bar) won't sit 'straight' and will instead hang to one side, itms.
Cleaning shouldn't be a problem with a bar provided the piercer uses the correct size jewellery to begin with - it should be a few millimetres longer than the fistula (ie, there'll be a little gap that'll 'stick out'), allowing you to slide the bar from side to side to aid cleaning (and don't use commercial alcohol-based sprays, warm salty water soaks will do just fine) and also allowing for swelling in the first couple of days.
A too-short bar will not only make cleaning difficult, but can lead to some pretty major complications if it's short enough to pinch and interfere with healing. Just a guide, if your nipple is (eg) 10mm across, you'll probably want a 12-14mm bar placed in initially, and once it's healed you can then switch down to an 10mm to fit.
Good luck, HTH!![]()
I have both pierced and love them.
They WILL make your nipples more sensitive (assuming you dont have a butcher piercer) and they WILL um, likely become more erect all the time.
Apart from salt soaks - 2 x 5 mins a day for 2 weeks - I would suggest the LITHA method: Leave It The Hell Alone.
:-D
No playing during healing!
PS: I have a different length bar in each one. A good piercer will measure twice, poke once.
Don't wash your boobs with a body puff....that's how I ripped my first one out.
