I'm not big on raw chicken soups in the SC. I'd probably more likely go with frozen drumsticks or boned chicken as it gives more flavour and the meat doesn't tend to go stringy. Do you like barley or anything like that? Otherwise whatever veg you have just chuck it in. If you want extra flavour go for some low salt chicken stock and don't forget to chuck in some whole peppercorns and bay leaves.
Ooooh really, how come? Bacteria?
How much stock do you usually put in as a base? I have never done a soup in there, and am not sure on liquid quantities.
I could always do the veg soup in there, then buy or cook a roast chook in the oven, break it up and stir it in I guess lol.

Sorry I meant, unfrozen LOL! I just find it goes too stringy.
Do as much stock as you would like depends on how much you want to make. It really is a matter of play by ear, what flavours you like etc? If you like corn or potato, leek, onion? Carrot? Celery? Capsicum etc Put as much meat and veg in as you would like and then add your seasonings and then add your meat and stock.
I normally do a couple of carrots same again in celery, an onion, a leek, and whatever other vegies I feel like, probably about 1/3 veg 1/3 meat and the rest in stock.
Yummo! Awesome, will give it a go, thanks heapsJust didn't know where to start :S
Oh and what seasonings do you like best, non-spicy!!![]()

I go with thyme, rosemary, garlic, bay leaves, peppercorns and that's about it. If you want to mix it up just a dash of tumeric or even some tarragon (but it can be overwhelming) otherwise sage is great in soup.
