Char-leigh's Mum - no I haven't had a clot before. I didn't know I had FVL until a series of tests were done as part of preparation for IVF. So I didn't find out until I was around 30, and had been on the pill for ~9 years, taken several long-haul flights without compression stockings, and also had saline injections to treat varicose veins in my legs (my haematologist flipped out when I told him I'd had that done!). So I guess lots of 'high risk' activities but fortunately I didn't get a clot.
While it may be difficult for Dr's to say if FVL caused the loss of Char-leigh, at least now you can get the additional medical treatment and monitoring needed if you get pregnant again. I wish you all the best
