I found out the day before my wedding that my cake maker had skipped town! We went to a couple of other cake places and they weren't able to make what I wanted so we went into the cheesecake shop at about 3pm the day before the wedding.
The cake girl was just leaving, but she came back in and asked what we wanted. I had to describe it too her, it was a chocolate mud with chocolate curls and chocolate that had been cut into flat squares. So she did a two tier cake, but I think the top was probably a tier and a half by itself, she did the squares around the outside ( you know where they smooth the chocolate out on a flat suface and cut it into squares) and some beautiful BIG chocolate curls covering the top tier, she then put some gerbera's (to match my bouquet) around the base of the top tier and called us that afternoon to say it was ready!
Everyone commented on how yummy the cake was. I hadn't even thought of going to the cheesecake shop for our wedding cake, but I'm glad I ended up there.
