Recipe from Cookery The Australian Way
- 1 cup SR flour
- 2 TSP cocoa
- 1/4 Cup butter
- 1/1 Cup Caster Sugar
- 1 Egg Beaten
- 1/1 cup walnuts chopped (I don't add these as my DH doesn't like nuts)
- 1/2 Cup milk
Sauce
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tblsp cocoa
- 1 1/4 cups boiling water
- Set oven at 175deg
- Sift flour and 2 tsp cocoa
- cream butter and caster sugar, Add egg and walnuts, mix well.
- Stir in flour and milk alternatively. Pour into pie dish.
- Make sauce: combine brown sugar and cocoa. Sprinkle on top of mixture in dish, and pour boiling water gently over this.
- Bake at 175deg for 40-45mns
- Dust lightly with icing sugar and serve with custard sauce or cream.
Enjoy, delicious and hasn't failed me yet. Add a little more boiling water to make it saucier.
