No occasion... it's just been ages since I've baked a cake and when I saw that this one didn't involve creaming butter and sugar (I hate that bit because I don't have a good mixer) I thought I'd just give this one a go and consider it a trial run for when we do have a special occasion. The recipe is honestly not as hard as it sounds.

Oooh maybe I can offer this cake at the cross stitching group I'm thinking of starting! My family will clean this up like a plague of locusts... sorry girls... i'll have to make it again for friends
