    2 1/2 cups self-raising flour
    1 cup milk
    1/2 cup cooked mashed pumpkin
    3 tablespoons butter

    Step 1
Mix sieved flour with butter, and then add mashed pumpkin.

    Step 2
Stir in the milk to form a dough.

    Step 3
Turn out dough onto lightly floured bench and knead.

    Step 4
Roll out dough to a 2cm thickness, then, using a round cutter, cut out scones.

    Step 5
Stack close together on a tray and brush tops with milk.

    Step 6
Bake in oven at 170?C for 15 minutes or until golden

I just wanted to say these have been a hit with my family.. I am about to make my 4th batch since you posted this.. the only thing different i do is instead of making all little scones. I roll the whole thing out to about 2cm thick then cut one whole in the middle and use a pizza cutter and cut slice the rest of the way round. It isn't cut all the way through though.. and wow they go fluffy..

anyways pumpkin is almost cooked off to make some more lol.. had to come back and get the recipe again

My Grandma made the best pumpkin scones. Unfortunately she hasn't made them since I was little. She hasn't been able to remember the recipe. She's 80 now and her memory is going a bit more everyday. Not dementia or Alzheimer's, just normal senility. Poor Grandpa, he writes lists for her all the time, like what time to put the oven on etc. I miss them so much.

Anyway her pumpkin scones have sultanas in them. She used to make like 30 at a time. I miss them.

I made the scones exact to the recipe, but added sultanas. It was really sloppy, but I remember Grandma's were wetter too. I just made big dollops on a tray and they cooked fine. DD loved them. In fact she's been a super girl today. Being patient while I made scones and precooked dinner, so she got a freddo frog. Lucky girl!

Thanks for the recipe, its on my fridge now, lol.

I bought some powdered milk for another recipe, and the tin has a pumpkin scone recipe on it. I dont have the tin anymore, but just thought I'd mention anyway.
