I've been craving scones all through my pregnancy and the craving hasn't gone away since the births so what are your favorite scone recipes.
It doesn't just have to be sultana either im open and eager for all flavour combos!
DH does an AWESOME date and lemon scone recipe he got off the Masterchef website. Sorry I don't have the recipe. It freezes really well so you can just take one out, thaw it and away you go!
Hehehe I've started scone cravings The ones I did yesterday worked really well, and mine usually never rise properly. I did as Rivlas suggested, just googled lemonade scones, and used the first one that came up on the Taste website.
Recipe was:
1/2 tsp Salt
2 cups SR Flour (sifted)
1/4 cup Castor Sugar
1/2 cup Thick Cream
1/2 cup Lemonade
2 tbs Milk
Preheat the oven to 220°C. Lightly grease a baking tray.
Place the flour, sugar and salt in a large bowl. Add the cream and lemonade and mix to form a soft dough. Turn out onto a lightly floured workbench and knead lightly until combined. Press the dough with your hands to a thickness of about 2cm. Use a 6cm round cutter to cut out 8 scones, place on baking tray and brush the tops with some milk. Bake for 10-15 minutes until lightly browned
This recipe makes 8, so I doubled it, and they're delicious!
This is my Nan's recipe, I havent tried a better scone yet.
4 Cups SR Flour
400ml Thickened Cream
200ml Milk
A Pinch of salt
Mix all together and roll dough out, cut with a cutter (i just use a glass) Put on baking tray and brush with milk, then bake at 180-200 degree C for about 15min or untill golden brown.
Easy peasy!
