boble - Sorry about the BFN. I'm hoping it was just too early to test. :crossfingers: :noaf:
Em - I just want to give you a great big  I also had a D&C. I had very light bleeding for 2 weeks after that and then AF arrived 3 weeks once that stopped (so 5 weeks after the D&C). I think you can expect AF between 4-6 weeks after a D&C.
It is routine to perform tests on all tissue collected in the procedure. They usually just make sure that it is fetal and placental tissue and that there is no evidence of a molar pregnancy (sorry if I sound insensitively clinical - not sure how else to explain it). I only found out about testing when I asked one of the OBs I work with what happens to a baby after a D&C. My loss was in July and I didn't ask about this until December. I was in such a daze at the time of my m/c.
And I know what you mean about it being a bad dream. I have days where I feel like my pregnancy was a dream. Feel free to vent here. You are among friends who understand.

mrzbaby--Despite your feelings of being on your own, you are surrounded by friends that have been there/still are there! Please don't feel like you're a burden, we would never impose any sort of time limit on your grief. There's no "getting over" a m/c, you simply learn to move forward, one day at a time (some very important advise from someone very special). We're here for you--no matter what--for however long you need us! No impositions, no strings attached! Oh, and I think the pendant is a beautiful way to commemorate your angel!
Mel--Thanks, again! It's weird, I almost hope I find out that that's what my problem has been this whole time, KWIM? Just to have an answer!
Aww,Hannah--:comfort: There's so much about you to like! I think you're on the right road to changing that... otherwise you wouldn't be getting the help you're getting for yourself! While pampering from DH is awesome and very well deserved, it still doesn't qualify as something that you're doing for yourself! Not much time left... tick, tock, tick, tock... gotta come up with something!
boble--Sorry to hear about your BFN! Hopefully at 10DPO, it's just too early yet. :crossfingers:
Have to get DS to school! Will be back later! :grouphug:

Zachary's Mom- Good luck with the scan & dr's appt. I hope you feel better soon.
HannahD, Mel & Jen :hello: Hope you are all doing well!
boble- What a terrible decision for your friend to have to make. Sorry for you BFN. Hopefully it was just too soon to test. Sending you lots of :noaf:
Polly- An early congrats on your BFP. I'm so happy for you.
Ashley's Mom- Welcome. I'm so very sorry for your loss. I agree with Jen. You don't get over it. You just learn to pick up the pieces and move forward with life because you have to. My DH and I started TTC again right away because we would love to have a child and its worth it to us.
mrzbaby- A charm sounds like a wonderful idea. I had to take medication to bring AF on after my D&C. Hopefully yours will come soon.
To everyone else sending lots of :bluedust::pink-babydust: and :stickyvibesgirl::stickyvibesboy:.

Mrzbaby - my AF came back as per usual after my m/c, but i didnt have a D/C so i wouldnt be sure about how everyone else works. I think that when your body is ready to, your AF will return
Boble - sorry to hear that you got a BFN :( I know how stressful and disapointing it is to see that single pink line everytim you POAS.
Ashely's Mom - sweet, so sorry to hear that you lost your darling little girl. A loss is hard no matter when it happens but to lose at such a late stage.... my heart goes out to you and i'm so glad that you have found the strength to post about your experience. You are in the right place for very kind hearted and understanding support, dont be afraid to vent and cry with us hun
AFM, I'm pretty sure i have past O time and the OH and i have been baby dancing like crazy.. Well crazy for us. Every Tues, Thurs and Sun is baby dance day and i'm so full of spermies that i dont know if its CM i'm seeing or semen (sorry tmi  ) I'm slowly getting used to the metformin and i'm feeling alot better than i was when i first started it. Its abit hard because it makes me feel very nautious so i just have to keep thinking that is the reason why i feel so sick and to wait until AF is actually late before i test...
Well :pray:ing for more BFP this month, keep those smiles going ladies

Em - dont ever feel like we want you to stop "going on" about it.. it is a really important part of healing. I have found talking to people.. online and in real life.. very healing. Even people who don't know about or have never had a m/c... sounds stupid but educating them a little about it all has somehow made me feel good... like if, god forbid, they ever have to go through it then they will know that it is ok to talk about and share your grief.
When I had my first i had never met ANYONE who had had a m/c... then when I had my 2nd it was very similar.. but as you talk to people out and about they will say "oh yeah, I had one of those" or "my sister had one of them" or "my mum had a few of those" - for some reason it seems taboo to talk about at the time ?????????
but anyway, i am getting side tracked with what i wanted to say... here you have a wonderful group of people who know exactly what you mean and who will not judge you or ever wish you to stop discussing.. so please continue - i know how much it can help :)
oh, also it took 5wks to the day for my af to return.. when I had it done the doc said between 4 to 8wks.. i was so scared it was going to be 8 :wall: but was lucky to only have 5, which ended up being my normal cycle after that.
an in terms of testing.. they told me there were going to test the "products of conception" but i didn't ever find out the results.... makes me wonder though. I may have to ask at my next appointment. I think it is fairly normal practice.
I know exactly what you mean about it all seeming like a bad dream.. some days I just stop and think ... am I or aren't I.. was I ever??? it all just seems so unreal at times - that one can be pregnant and expecting and planning for a little one and then you end up standing there with nothing :( and wondering what the hell happened. I hope it gets better too! for all of us!
Hannah, Jen and Shortcake.. thanks so much for the well wishes. I am still having spotting on and off - daily but not full on spotting all day iykwim. I guess I am still holding onto that tiny bit of hope but we will have to wait and see. 12dpo tomorrow and at this stage I am having no desire to test.. i am hoping to make it to Sunday/Monday if no AF arrives.
Babymiracles - woohoo and congratulations. :hooray:

Hey Ladies!!!
Babymiracles:  you enjoy every sec of it hun!!!!!! for heartbeat
I just got back from midwife, all ok. she had trouble figuring out what was bubs bum and head tho, but we got there evenutally, head is still up top. Have to go back in 3 weeks to sort out the birthplan.
Am having mega mega trouble sleeping at the moment, i look like a walking zombie. Luckily my boss is allowing me to work from home 2 days a week, so i can sneak off and have little power naps. Hopefully that should help.
Thats about it from me.
Hope all you other ladies are doing fabulously!!! :grouphug:
-
Babymiracles - Woo hoo - how fantastic! :happyforyou:
Boble - It may have been too early to test :noaf:
Abbey - Sending some :noaf: vibes your way as well.
Jen - That is not weird at all. I completely know what you mean about wanting answers (everyone here would be wanting the same). When the Dr told me I started to cry with just such relief. I remember saying to the nurse that he must think I am weird for wanting something to be wrong! I know I was very lucky though as I got some answers but my problems weren't serious and were able to be fixed. Hopefully it works! I have my :crossfingers: for you!
AFM - Well the nurse checked my wounds today and although I am still quite swollen and a bit bruised she said it is healing nicely and we are good to go! DH will be happy  I haven't really been keeping track of my cycle the last couple of months but I think I am coming up to O time in the next couple of days.
Soooo.....am going to ask :tmi: question! I have read so many articles on how often you should :bd: during o, every 2nd or 3rd night or morning and night for 5 or 6 days! What do you girls think? Any advice from our recently pg friends?
Big :hello: to everyone else!
-
jen - Thanks so much. And I know what you mean about wanting answers. I hope you find them.
abbey - I hope you get your BFP in a couple of weeks. :bluedust: :noaf:
boble - Still sending loads of anti-AF vibes your way with lots of :pink-babydust: :stickyvibesboy:
fifi - Sorry you're having trouble sleeping. Sounds like you have a supportive boss to let you work from home sometimes. :bellyrubs:
Mel - Glad you're healing nicely. Sorry if :tmi: coming up. Most of what I've read says every other day is fine. Partly because daily may affect sperm quality. The other thing that I came across recently is that it is better for a guy to ejaculate on a regular basis. I guess the :sperm: think they're not needed and get lazy or something. HTH. I'm glad you brought this up actually, as I'm interested in what others think.
AFM - Just focusing on getting through the next two days and then I have 2 weeks off from work. Then I will get to my homework (jen, you can hold me to that).

Hi girls, I have been looking for somewhere to post and this seems like the page to do it! I have such a confusing story and situatin. On the 22nd Dec last year I miscarried at about 5 weeks. They think that my hcg levels were evidence of an eptopic and the pregnancy just wasnt viable. I also had a big cyst on my right ovary. When I miscarried, a scan showed everything did what it was meant to and the cyst dissolved. I still have not gotten a period, so I am just over 7 weeks down the track. I didnt have a d&c and because I was so early with my loss, I thought my cycles would return to normal. This has posed the question, am I pregnant again? I have sore breasts, bad period like cramp and am exhausted come lunch time every day. So far stick tests have been negative and a blood test come up negative. My doctor seems to think I have polycistic ovaries, which I dont believe considering I have conceived three times so easily! I am having a scan on Friday to check. She is now talking putting me on the pill and ovulation medication. I am worried as I feel pregnant. I dont know what to do. We just want another baby and its turned into such a drama. Never have I just wanted my period to come or my stick to have that extra line ...I just want answers! I feel like I am obsessing. Any words of advice?

babymiracles--:hooray: I couldn't wait to log on this morning to hear about your scan! :leap: I'm so happy for you--what a great early b-day gift! Well done! Now relax and enjoy!
Abbey--Fingers crossed you caught that eggie!
boble--Sending lots of :noaf: vibes your way!
fifi--Sorry to hear you're having trouble sleeping! Happy for you that you get to work a few days from home--take advantage of the time and get some extra rest!
Mel--They say as long as there's nothing wrong with the :sperm: you can BD every day if you want to! I tend to think the more the merrier... just that many more chances of success! Otherwise, they say every other day should suffice, since the spermies are still alive and kickin' in there waiting for that egg to come! Glad to hear your healing nicely.... bring on the :bd:
Hannah--Ok, you've got a 2 day reprieve on your homework! But after that, you better get busy, missy! Enjoy your 2 weeks off--I'm completely jealous! But don't think for a minute that I'm going to let you forget about that assignment!
kazaraz--I'm so sorry for the loss of your little angel! :comfort: 7 weeks seems like a long time to wait for AF, especially if you didn't have a D&C.... were your HCG levels checked to make sure they've come down? Wishing you the best of luck for your scan on Friday! I pray you get the answers you're seeking!
-
plc--Thanks for the great pics! I love the one of you and April! Glad we had a chance to catch up last night--thanks for the chat, I've been having plc-withdrawals! :o guffaw.... chortle.... chuckle (anything but lol!)
Toccara--Thinking about you!
Big  for AJC & Samuel!
mollycat--It's been a few days... missing you and thinking of you!
smi--Hey, stop being a stranger! Big *hugs* and :bellyrubs:
Krystie--Super duper  for you and little Chyan!! Not long to go now!
Me--Today's supposed to be O day.... don't think I'm feeling it yet, tho. Going to keep those BD shoes on and :bd: like crazy just in case!

Hey Gurlies...
babymiracles...so happy for you!
jen...I have been a stranger...sorry...I'm just not myself these days...as happy as I am to finally be pregnant...I am also a bit depressed...not due to the pregnancy...just life in general is not what I'd hoped...
Hi to all my ladies...not even gonna try with naming names...be good!

Jen - I'm here hun, always lurking - rarely posting now. Missing you too. (But hey - it's almost Friday) Not sure if I'll catch you this weekend - heading off wedding shopping with my SIL- to-be on Saturday morning. :ttc: (there's a sign for your front door - or attach it to DF's parachute)
Babymiracles - good news with your scan - Enjoy the rest of your pg. won't be long now cause it will just go so fast and that little bub will be in your arms.
Fifi - I hope you get the sleep problem sorted soon. Perhaps it's just bub giving you lessons in staying awake for those night feeds, I remember PLC had the same thing (could have been around the same time).
Smi - :hello: thanks for your emails - love them. Hope everything works out for you. xoxox
Special :pink-babydust::bluedust::stickyvibesboy::stickyvibesgir l::bellyrubs: for everyone in this thread.

smi--Sounds like you could use a really big  Hope things get better and life becomes a little easier for you... miss hearing your smile in your posts! Chin up! :)
