jackjack - I would see your doctor about the bleeding. Two months seems a long time for bleeding to continue, especially after a D&C. (In my case, the bleeding stopped after 2 weeks). I'd go to your doctor as continued bleeding may mean that they missed something with the D&C the first time. I hope you get it sorted out soon. Big *hugs*
I had a follow-up appointment with my GP this morning. She discussed some problem solving strategies with me to help me deal with people (especially my mum at the moment who won't accept that I don't want to drink alcohol while TTC). Its all so simple really, but when you're brain feels like mush most of the time finding solutions isn't easy.
She's also ordered some blood tests as a general checkup to make sure I'm physically fine. Then I have my first appointment with a psychologist on Monday. Feeling a bit apprehensive about that. Just not sure what to expect. I guess it'll just be a 'get to know you' kind of session, being the first.
Hannah--Sorry to hear your mom is giving you a hard time about not wanting to drink while TTC. I personally think it's commendable! It shows how dedicated and serious you are about having a child of your own! Glad to hear you're going to get some BT's done... all goes well, and that somehow you're given some answers. Best of luck on Mon. with the Psychologist... I really hope it helps you! Understandable to feel apprehensive, but I think it will be really beneficial for you! Big
jackjack--Aww, so sorry to hear you're still suffering from the migraines.... your leg...and now the flu! I agree with Hannah, I think after bleeding for this length of time, maybe you should give your Dr. a call. Always better to be safe than sorry, especially if you're waiting to TTC. And, NO, it's not silly of you to want answers! It had to have been a man that made the rule that you had to suffer thru 3 m/c's before they'll even check to see if anything's wrong!! It's absolutely ridiculous! No apologizing for venting--that's what we're here for! Chin up, hon! Keep us posted what you decide to do.
Hannah - OMG my mum sounds like your mum! I had exactly the same problem with my mum thinking I should drink alchohol whilst TTC - she kept saying that it would make me more relaxed and therefore more likely to happen, and that my brother and sister-in-law got pregnant with their son after a night of drinking so that is what I should do I, like you, have ignored her - but it did upset me a bit at the time. I have had so much advice from people whilst TTC - not much of it has been helpful - the best and most helpful advice was from my obstetrician who said dont worry about worrying - in his opinion it is not going to make any difference in chance of success. Anyway you stick to what you know is right in your heart sweetie - you are doing the right thing. Good luck for monday - hope it is helpful.
OK sorry no more persies - 44 celcius again in adelaide and have just spent several hours taking my fiances father to hospital (he is on home oxygen and very ill with emphysemia) - I was hoping that he would be okay till wedding but specialist says it is unlikely he will live that long - which is very sad. Anyway after hot afternoon at hospital I need to go and rest in the cool before I am off to work tonight. to all and bring on more BFPs
Why are some people so so ...... i cant think of a polite word so i will just go aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggggggghhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
Guy i work with and his mrs are 20 weeks or so pregnant. They are both mid/late 30's. She has had a few problems with this pregnancy (she has problems with her intestines fusing together, which makes carry a baby very painful) they have said she prob wont be able to have any more children after this one and that they will most likely do a hysterectomy (however it is spelt...) after this baby is born.
You'd think they would be happy that they have been blessed with this baby......Oh no!!!!!!!!
They found out at their 20 week scan that they are having a little girl......they guy i work with is actually moaning about it cause he wanted a boy! And i mean really moaning!!!! When i said i think i'm having a boy, you know what he said to me!! Wanna do a swap??!?!?! :WTF: I was so close to turning round and giving him a mouthful of abuse. Does he not realise he has a miracle growing inside his wife and he should think himself lucky. I was so angry i had to walk away. I dont think he realised he upset me. He still goes round now saying he wished he was having a boy.
Do you think i'm over reacting cause of what i've/we've been through??!?!?
Anyway rant over - I feel a little better now - thanks girls
Fifi - sorry to hear that the guy you work with upset you - silly thing is he doesn't realise how much he is going to love his little girl once she is here, and is obviously too absorbed with himself to even consider his comments may be upsetting others. I know too many people that seem to have a severe case of "speak before think"
A quick afm - we had our 20 week scan today, and (omg) - it's a girl!! Even better she seems to be doing brilliantly. Still pretty surreal as I really thought it would be a boy - and was very happy with that idea too - just need to switch my brain into pink gear! This is also quite meaningful for me as the two angels I lost last year were both girls - it seems like the universe is giving me something back.
Hope everybody is doing well - I pop in here often just to see how you all are
fifi--I don't think you're overreacting at all! I think that we're all still very sensitive due to what we've been thru, and because of that, we may tend to feel offended by tactless comments quicker than most. I agree that he's just very self-absorbed and probably has no idea that a comment like that could get his head taken off by the lot of us! Unfortunately, unless you've suffered a loss of your own, people just don't think about the fact that there's people out there that would give anything just to be pg! I have to admit that with my last angel, I wanted to desperately to have a girl.... as soon as I found out I was pg, it was "it better be a girl!", and "I'll be ok, as long as it's a girl!".... I even wore something pink everyday, with the stupid hope that it would somehow make it be a girl! It wasn't until I m/c that I really started beating myself up.... thinking God was punishing me for being ungrateful.... that I should've just been happy to be pg.... that I must've complained too much about feeling sick, hungry, tired, gaining weight.... I think this guy is just blindly innocent to what could go wrong, and he doesn't get that he should just feel blessed no matter what he's having!
jenushka--OMG, I just knew it! Somehow I always knew you were having a girl! Congratulaions!!!
Just wanted to share the video with you girls from DF's mom's skydive on Dec. 26. It was his gift to her.... unfortunately, she ended up with a broken knee and tibia! Will be back in a few with the link to DF's skydive, where he does flips, turns, and barrel rolls! Hope you enjoy!
Here's DF's jump! It's a little dark when he's inside the plane, so you can't really see him, but it was the best we could do under the circumstances (long story). It's a lot clearer once he's jumped.... still a little pixel-ey, but you can definitely see him doing his flips and stuff!
Rachelswirl - CONGRATULATIONS!! you are having a little boy
Mel + Indy - Glad your results were good
Jen - Sorry to hear that DS is sick with strep throat, our DD suffers with throat a lot too.
Hope he feels better soon.
Jackjack - Would agree that you should get the bleeding checked out.
Jenushka - CONGRATULATIONS!! its a girl
Theresa, Karen van + Babymiracles - Hope things going well
Big Ruthie,Smi,RRK,Rach2281,Princess,Fifi,WTH,Ajc,Mann ie and anyone else sorry i have missed.
AFM - Finally got phonecall from hospital today giving me app for next Wed, Dh will be working away in Switzerland so cant go with me but mum will go instead.
babymiracles - That is exactly what my mum says. She thinks I'm stressing too much and that alcohol will relax me. But, I'm also avoiding alcohol due to my moods, I just don't want to have to explain that part to my mum yet. I'm sorry to read your FIL-to-be is unwell. I he can survive long enough to see his son marry you.
fifi - I'm so sorry that guy at work upset you. I don't think you've over reacted at all. I agree with jen, most people take pregnancy of a live, healthy baby for granted. I would love to be that oblivious again. I'm sure once he gazes into his daughter's eyes for the first time, he'll love her no matter what.
jenushka - Congratulations on having a girl. I'm glad everything is going so well.
chappas - Goodluck for your appointment on Wednesday.
AFM - Have been feeling really sick this morning. Had a wave of nausea so bad I had to sit down for 10 minutes. I think this heat is finally getting to me.
Well I managed an IVF (with PGD) transfer yesterday, so that makes me PUPO (pregnant until proven otherwise).
Big thanks for you all for for me:
AJC ( for Samuel), Theresa, Mel1979, Baby Miracles (would love nothing more than to be belly buddies), HannahD, Indy, Ruthie and Jen
We also managed a "frostie", plus two more will be biopsied today, though I am just thrilled to have made it to transfer. It really is a stressful experience just to this point.
Last transfer they told me my odds were about 28-30% of conception. Just loving the idea of having a chromosonally normal bubba in me, even if it is only until my BT Monday week.
WTH - I'll just say it again, but for a succesful transfer and a frostie!! Have everything crossed too for your other 2 embies. Yippee for being in the TWW!
HannahD - I'm sorry to hear about you Mum being like that - why can't she just take no for an answer and leave it at that? It's your body and your decision after all. As for the relaxing you bit I can't believe that people persist with the "just relax and it will happen" attitude - it is so not helpful and personally after 2 years of TTC I got pretty sick of hearing it! Good luck for your appt on Mon and hope the sickness is a good sign!
jackjack - I agree with the other ladies too, I would get the bleeding checked out too. It isn't normal to be still bleeding 2 months after a D&C. Good luck with it all and hope you feel better soon
babymiracles - So sory hear about your fiances Dad I hope he makes it to your wedding somehow. Try not to melt in that heat! Thank goodness it is not that bad here!
fifi - I don't think you are overreacting at all. I would have been hard put not to tell the guy to wake up to himself! Some people just have no idea though I guess, hopefully he will change once the baby arrives.
jenushka - Yay for a little pink bundle Girls are so cool
Jen - Sorry to hear that DS is sick again Hope he is on the mend for you soon.
chappas - GL for next Wed!
Big hi's to everyone else I have missed, sorry for no more persies - after a couple of good days in terms of ms I have been feeling a bit queasy again today. Not much fun but very reassuring all the same!!
WTH - A big congratulations to you for the transfer, and two frosties - good luck with the remaining two. for BFP monday week for you and sending you lots of
HannahD: hope you are feeling better. The heat is definately getting to me too - 3rd day over 40 degrees with no relief in sight! We are lucky that we have airconditioning but for some reason had no power to aircon last night for about 8 hours -was not happy
Megsmum: thanks for your wishes about my fiances father. Sorry to hear you are feeling queasy - but agree it must be reassuring to some extent.
Chappas: will be thinking of you next wed. Good luck honey
jenuska: congratulations on having a beautiful girl - you can now start buying all things pink. That is lovely news
Fificlaire: OMG I cannot believe your work colleague either and I think you were very restrained just to walk away. Well done..
Jen: my fellow piscean. Hope you are having a lovely day - Praying that this is the cycle for you my dear
Big hugs to everyone else on thread - mannie, jackjack, plc, possums, erybery, rachel, karen van, meh, theresa, and everyone else (Jen I don't know how you do it - you deserve a medal for remembering all of our names)
