Hi everyone. I haven't been in for ages and looks like I've missed a fair bit of action!!!
I've needed a bit of "me" time of late. Losing patience with the TTC at the minute. So many of our friends are now having babies (2 babies born just on the weekend!) and although we are extremely happy for them, we're both finding it very hard at the minute.
This month I took to using an ovulation kit for the first time as I had tried Maybe Baby and the temperature thing, neither of which really seemed to do it for me. The ovulation kit only once gave me a feint line in the 5 days that I tested and that was day 13 (my cycle is usually 25 or 26 days). So, technically my period is tomorrow, but not being able to contain myself, I did a test Wednesday morning and it came up with a very faint second line, but it was a Fortel Ultra test, which I have since found a thread saying how it has been false for a lot of people. I used the same test the first time and got a faint line, so not sure. Fingers crossed, but I don't feel too positive about it. My boobs are swollen and a little sore at times, but I think I am talking myself in to it!
Have already made an appt with GP for next Wednesday as I would just like her to check that all is ok whether I get +ve pg or not......a bit nervous that maybe I'm not ovulating properly since the results were so faint.
Well enough from me! Great to hear everyone's news and I will be sure to stay in touch more this time!
Mouse - I hope there's a BFP on its way to you.... sounding very likely.
Bun - glad your HPT came up so quickly - that's a very good sign that all is well.
Nexttime - Sorry for your loss. I hope your TTC journey is a short one.
Salt - glad you are feeling better and I wish you lots of luck with this cycle.
Lee - I'm happy that all is going well with you.
Timnik - the MB detects estrogen so if you have high levels in your system it will fern. I found recently that I had ferns just before my AF and of course I hoped it meant that I was pg but I wasn't. I've had two lots of blood tests done for estrogen levels and both times they were high so I don't use my MB anymore as these levels will obviously affect the result.
Trying - I take Vitex on waking and I take it every day of the cycle. I hope your AF has eased up.
Claireabel - enjoy every moment of your m/c - it's a great sign that all is well.
Sorry to anyone I've missed.
I'm feeling calmer today. It was all a bit of a shock yesterday but I'm over it now. Right now I'm not so worried about the whole IVF possibility, but a little worried that I will get pregnant naturally and then stress majorly about having a m/c because of a stupid fibroid that may not even exist (they wont know for sure until they get in there & have a looksee). I know if I do get pg before the op I will be mega paranoid about m/c.
Anyway I will probably disappear over the weekend as my DF & I are going away for the weekend. My parents are away for a couple of weeks so we are heading off to the beach for the weekend to stay at their house. Not exactly beach weather in Melbourne at the moment but it will be nice to walk the dog along the beach and eat out and do lots of relaxing away from our own home. I'm really looking forward to it.
timnik - you need to buy an ovulation thermometer, they measure to 2 decimal places whereas a regular one only measures to 1 decimal place. If you ask at a chemist they should be able to help you. I'd just start charting now if I were you. I'm so sorry about your house I'd feel down about it too. That would be just awful having termites, hope its all fixed soon and that you feel better about things soon too.
satya - That's great that the FS has a plan for you now - I know I always feel better knowing what is going to happen. I can understand your worry, but try not to stress about the fibroid I'm sure it will turn out to not be a problem. Hope you enjoy your weekend at the beach!
Leyla - I read stuff saying only the first half of the cycle too. I can understand what you're saying - if you only take it for the first half of the cycle will it then take 6 months to have an effect?? LOL I hope not!! But seriously, I found more info that said to take it for the whole cycle rather than just the first half, so I decided that that's what I'd do. I'm also taking a vitamin B supplement as well, because the main reason I'm doing the Vitex is because I have a short luteal phase. But I think it has probably been more the homeopathic medicine that has had the effect for me at this stage anyway, because I've been taking it for a month longer than the Vitex.
mouse - all the best for your GP appointment, that all sounds very promising
*las* - all the best for next week!
Claire - sorry to hear about the m/s - yuck! Hope your appointment next week goes well
kiwigirl - what a bummer! But good luck for next month!
nexttime - all the best for when you start to TTC!
salt - sorry I can't help with your question, but I hope you are doing OK now Good idea to BD just in case I think - good luck for this month!
Well I'm now 10 (or maybe 11) DPO, so only a few more days to go I'm really not sure when I'll test if AF doesn't show up, maybe Monday. With all the changes that I've had this cycle - early O - I'm a little bit confused and have got no idea when AF will show up if she does. I hope not!!
I went and had blood taken for CD21 hormone levels today anyway - I had a request from my gynae visit last month, so I thought it would be best to get them done this month just to rule out or find any problems. At least then if I'm not PG this month I will know whether there is a problem or not, and if there is I can hopefully get something done about it.
I'm feeling quite positive about it all though - I've been really hungry the last couple of days and I think maybe I'm going to the loo a little bit more often than normal. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much though - don't want to be disappointed if AF shows. Cross your fingers for me!!
Hello to everyone I've missed, hope you are all well
