smallfry......when i had my d&c the DR insisted i get the anti D injection as otherwise statistically things wouldn't be in my favour in the future otherwise. goodluck hunni!
Um ...am I the only one who had a natural miscarriage with the assistance of Misoprostol??? Shouold I be concerned about this?
TinaR I have one of those thoughts. the day I started spotting (was tinged CM actually) was valentines day and it was the first day i had wore heels...and also it was the first time i wore jeans since last winter and i was feeling boated that day and to stretch my jeans a little I got down on my haunches to expand them a little (god i sound crazy). I keep wondering if thats what caused it...i know its a dumb thing but its like we need to look for something to blame, and no matter what, it is always something to do with myself that I blame even though i know that it wasnt indirectly my fault.. you'll get through it and next time yeah you will stress, i know i will, but ill be relaxing alot more and not working so much as well!

Tina - I feel like that too, I think what if I did this or didn't do that, but really, I don't think it would have made any difference, it's just me looking for an answer and a reason for it all.
smallfry - when I went to the hospital after having my m/c they asked for my blood type, because if you are a Rh-ve and the baby is positive, and the baby's blood mixes with yours, then you can have clots and other problems, that's why they give the injection, or that was my understanding of it anyway.
coco - I am not familiar with that medication at all, my m/c was well underway - you could almost say over, when I went to the hospital. I wouldn't be concerned though, because obviously there was a need for it if that's what the dr prescribed. Perhaps it was to avoid a D&C??
I am also RH- and when I went to the hospital they told me that it was best to have an anti-D injection within the first 72 hours. They said it was to prevent any problems with subsequent pregnancies where the baby was RH+. The doctor also said that, even though I knew my blood type they had to retest as in rare cases peoples blood types can change (never knew that before!) My Mum told me she was RH- as well but they never gave shots in her day and she had five healthy babies. I'm sure you will be fine.

Milly-there is some really nice decafe coffee's out there just buy the smallest jar and try it first my fave is riva (i think) i'm in bed i will check later and tell you for sure but it's a funny shape jar with a black funny shape lid and i think it's as good as normal coffee.
Coco-i don't know about lunar cycles but i don't believe in it the human body is pretty complex enough without worrying about that stuff.
Sammyp-glad to hear your hormone levels have dropped not so good about the bill in the mail.
Anila-I know exactly what you mean if i run into people i havn't seen for a while and they ask how i have been i tell them about abbi and what happened and then they feel bad and i feel bad for telling them but the way i see it i want people to know i had a daughter and i dont want her to be like she never existed i supose i will stop doing it when i think everyone that i want know's about her that's my therory anyway.
Superstarmumsy-i'm so sorry you are going through this i hope we can all be of some comfort while you are going through this awlful time.

At least we had some good news. DH rang the hospital in Canada last night and said he didn't feel we should have to pay two separate bills as we really felt it was all the same visit. The woman consulted her manager and they agreed to drop the second bill. Phew! I seem to have a neverending pile of bills so it was nice not to have this one. The dog cost me $500 in vet's bills in the past week as she has a corneal ulcer.
hope ur doggy is ok sammy p. my doggy Axel broke his leg last year, $3000 later thank you very much! good thing he is beautiful cuddly beast because he repaid it back in cuddles!

ive heard of mistpostal (sorry about the spelling) coco, i was offered it before i was the d&c but was advised against it because of the side effects. my OB said she does adminsister it during miscarriage but only at a particular hospital that is set up to handle the side effects (excessive blood loss). i opted for the d&c just so it was over and done with. im glad that you had no side effects and from i gather its use is pretty common, depending ususally on your OB.

Smallfry sweetie I totally understand why you would be worried but I am also Rh negative, when I m/c'd they gave me the anti-d but I was told at the time that it was purely precautionary and not a neccessity as it was quite early- I have also found research online that might comfort you:
"If you are RhD-negative and you have a miscarriage in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy you will not need anti-D, provided the miscarriage was "complete" - i.e. the bleeding stopped on its own and there were no pregnancy tissues left in the uterus."
Also, if your man is rh neg too then there's nothing to worry about at all?
Tina I know exactly what you mean, my work was really stressful when I was pg, and the day I started bleeding I had been helping DH in the garden...my brain knows its not my fault but my heart is another story...I think it makes sense to control whatever you can to minimise the risk...

SammyP- tha'ts good news about not having to pay the second bill. I've only just finished paying the bills from my m/c in April. Suppose that's my fault for going private but it makes it hard when things in the mail keep reminding you of the m/c.
Anila- how's it going are you going to beat my cd47 before RB shows up?

afm- I am taking donor dad to my naturopath tomorrow so we can get him on their special herbal mixture too. Apparently this clinic was seen on Today Tonight (I never saw it) and have really good success with helping couples have babies. His swimmers are okay but it can't hurt. Sorry no smiles/emotions my computer won't bring them up! Maybe it needs some therapy!

km1 thanks heaps. I did a bit of reading too and have calmed since. Not sure what DH's blood type is. He doesn't know either! lol Guess that's not unusual though.
Missed your post sunbeam - yeah, no need to have it now and they'll only need to investigate if I bleed. My mc was clean and quick so it seems it won't be a problem. *sigh*
