Oh Kit, My heart was pounding as I read that.... are you okay? Those numbers are great. My HCG was only at 3900 at just over 7 weeks. (On the decline, I suspect). I realise mine were very low as I was about to mc, but 10000 is a huge difference.
Let's look at the good things here. DH was there. Tiger has a heartbeat, and your HCG is right up there. That's a pretty good handful of good things, I think. I know how heart wrenching it is to see all that blood, and I can understand the panic you must have felt. It's okay to be scared. You'd have to be made of steel not to be afraid right now. I don't know what kind of advice to offer, except to take it one step at a time. I know that's pretty useless but it's all I can come up with without sounding patronizing. I'm sure you'll get enough condescending comments from well meaning people around you, should you tell them what's going on.
You'll be in my thoughts all night and day until we hear from you again. Stay strong, and I'll be sending you all the good luck vibes I can muster. I don't have any more words, but I do have a huge HUG here for you. xoxoxoxoxoxo
Oh, and if it was me, I would still go to the scan. I don't know why they would tell you not to? I think the more information you can get, the better. Best of luck, sweetie. I am so so sorry you've experienced such a scare.
Oh my god kit! u poor poor thing what a day.. but u shld be so happy with the outcome.. i think u shld take a few days off work and lie down. When i started bleeding thats what everyone (my mums friends, my friends, doctor) told me to do.. unfortunatly it didnt help for me.. mine was already gone, but urs is all good with a heart beating!! yay!! I have done some research and they say when u wld normally be getting af it is quite normal to bleed.. apparently some of the lining that the sac etc isnt attached too can still shed.. a doctor suggested that this was happening when i started bleeding at just over 8 weeks.
I honestly think u will be fine.. like forshelby said.. everything is all good - theres a heartbeat and ur hcg levels are going up.
Oh this is bringing back so many scary/ painful moments.. i remember feeling like my world was crashing down when i first spotted blood.
I hope this is ur only scare for ur whole pregnancy.. get it out of the way now!! Dont u wish that we werent all ttc as hard as we are.. imagine finding out we are pg at like 8 - 10 weeks like a lot of other women do, it wld be so much easier and the 12 week mark wld come so much quicker.
I reckon u shld defintely go for the scan on friday, i dont understand why the midwife wld say no??? Golly gosh i think ill be wanting a scan every week!
Try and relax and focus on the fact that U SAW UR LIL TIGERS HEARTBEAT TODAY!!! WOOHOO!!
Good luck kit, you'll be right though, just lay back and relax for a few days x
oh by the way did u ever get ur progesterone levels checked? were they all good?
Forshelby- Woolworths sells Forelife Opk's.. they are just near the hpts and condoms etc. Or i got some off the internet, they are called David Ovulation tests.. maybe try googling it.. u get like 50 for $35 or something.. my friend got them for me.. u also get 10 hpts with them.. which is handy! Good luck!
Forshelby - here is a web address to get opks and hpts Pregnancy Tests
This is a lot cheaper then supermarkets.. i was buying them from woolies for $20 for 7.
Kit: my heart was also pounding when i saw your post. I'm not sure what to say. I'm with you: information makes me happy too. I can't think of one reason why not to go. I bled from 9 weeks with my last pregnancy and i was in the private system with a very sympathetic OB who had an ultrasound machine in his rooms and told me to come back as often as i wanted. He did scans every week to check the baby's heart beat. I only went for a 'proper' u/s at 12 weeks. (Not sure if you are going private or public and you have access to this). Bleeding does not always mean bad news. It's a wait and see game unfortunately. Basically, the risk of m/c decreases every week the closer you get to 12 weeks. I'm not sure if resting up or not makes a difference but i did get told not to BD while there is bleeding. I'm hoping your HCG numbers mean everything is on track and this is just one of those 'scare the hell out of your mum' baby tricks. Tell little tiger to behave herself!
Forshelby: i got OPKs in the chemist (next to the pregnancy tests they usually have ovulation predictor kits). There are expensive though. I haven't tried internet ones.
TTCaLC It's good news that at least one is working! Hopefully it's working double time for you to make up for the other one.
Reet My plan is to head down to my GP if AF hasn't arrived in the next few days. I never thought I'd ever want it to come so badly!! lol. I think the crystal thing is pendulum divination? I had a similar situation recently! I went to visit my family over Mother's day and my aunt (who I later found out "sees" all of the babies who come in to our family before they come) asked me when I'm going to test again. I was a bit shocked at first, but she said she saw it happening before xmas this year and I thought that would be lovely!
forshelby I understand exactly what you mean about it becoming more manageable. There are times when it feels so raw but more and more lately I feel like it's ok. I have been for some grief counseling which really helped, particularly since this year has been such a rollercoaster ride - I lost my grandmother, found out I was preggers then had the m/c, all within a 6 week period!
Kit I'm so sorry you've had all of this stress today *hugs*. As the other ladies have said, you've got fantastic numbers and you've seen the heartbeat, so things look very good so far even with your bleed. I would still go to the scan. Even if it's not needed, I'm sure it will help ease your mind more if you see the baby again in a couple of days.
my goodness... all that writing and I will forgot something! lol
Reet Thank you VERY much for that link! I can't believe how cheap they are! I've already placed an order lol. I couldn't work out if I should buy in bulk to save money, or think positively and only buy a small pack. I decided to think positively

Kit- dont be sorry for saying things that cld have made us sad! dont be silly! i think it just brought back painful/ scary/ sad memories... i was feeling so so sorry for u throughout ur whole post.. u guys will be the first ppl i turn too if something is to happen like that to me. Glad u have us that u can talk too. I wish i had u guys when i went thru m/c, i started bleeding on a sat and thought that i had to wait til the monday to get a doctors appointment.. my weekend was absolute hell.. my valentines day cldnt have been worse! now i know that if i had u guys u wld have told me to go straight to the emergency room! Im much wiser now its so nice and helpful to have ppl that understand how ur feeling and what ur going thru. We're here for u kit! x
MsKara- Glad to help u out! they're much cheaper over the internet. Good on u for positive thinking too.. hopefully u only need a few! Oh and lets hope ur aunt is right.. woudnt that be wonderful!!
Forshelby- I forgot to comment on ur pharmacy experience! it sounds awful! i dont think thats a stupid question at all.. and really who cares how far along u are anyway.. whether u be 1 week or 9 months theres certain things u shldnt take! I went and saw the pharmacist last week cos i always read in the drug information leaflets to see ur dr or pharmacist if any of the symptoms occur etc. So i thought i wld.. well he was no help AT ALL!!! i asked him why i cld be bleeding after taking clomid and he told me i have to see my gyno to find out cos he doesnt know. How ridiculous! i really think they need to stop writing that in leaflets if they really cant help at all! So yes i wont be going to my local pharmacist for any help in the future either
AFM- I am becoming crazy and obsessed i think! Im pretty sure i slept all nite last nite but u know when u have those sleeps where ur mind doesnt stop all nite?? well all i was thinking about was how many days roughly until implantation shld occur if i am pg, its not hard for me to work out now im awake but the maths and days etc were running thru my head all nite.. its so ridiculous!! i woke up this morning not rested at all. U guys probly dont understand this craziness cos i dont either really!! haha. Now i understand the 2ww thing u have all been talking about.. drives u INSANE!!! hahaha
x
Helloo All,
MurrayCod - So happy for u you my Darling...my fingers, toes all crossed for you this month. I hope everything goes well for you...and I am praying worry stays away from you and you get dreams of little bub, good healthy joyful pregnancy and happiness knocks on your door this month. My prayers and wishes are with you Murray...Hope ALL IS WELL AND ALL GOES WELL.
Kit - BIG HUGS to you. I can understand what you have gone through, but see the positive aspect that you saw a fluttering HB and a Strong HB, think about this . This will give you peace of mind and re assurance that everything is well. Just look after yourself.
Anita - I hope you feel well soon and get that magical BFP soon.
Ferrals - How are you doing dear? U too are taking break from BB, not coming often, well i think we all need sometimes some space and unwind urself.
Crafty - how are you going?
Matthew's Mum, Mummyof4, Possam Magic, Reet, Snugglybean = how are you all?
AFM - I am sorry that i was away and feeling guilty that I am telling you all now. You all must be thinking tat I am mean and selfish, but I am not. I am fighting with my fears and anxiety. I got my BFP on Mother's Day (9th May) and since then I am suffering from severe cold and flu and coughing non-stop, not going to work and surrounded by all different thoughts (good and bad). But I thought to tell you all as you helped and supported in my low times and I wish everyone in the forum all the very best for TTC journey and I am praying to God it would be short and sweet.
I am still try to sink in my BFP and that I am pregnant, but I am so sick that I thought to wait. My first u/s is on Thrusday and i am very scared and worried.
Kit - I am so glad to hear that things have settled a bit for you. I truly understand how paralysed with fear you have been. So my advice Rest up with your pelvis elevated by a pillow ( my Ob always recommends rest, says there is no hard and fast medical evidence to support it but in his experience and anecdotally, it is helpful), my ob also says some women just bleed in pregnancy and there is no rhyme or reason and they go on to deliver and happy and healthy baby at term, I know it's hard to believe you will be one of those women right now, but believe, GO TO THE SCAN ON FRIDAY, and finally, go gently on your self. I am so sorry that you are having such a tough time right now.....
Murray - I am so happy for you sweet cakes..... miracle little cod nesting away inside, a little sneeze won't dislodge our LC because our LC is stuck in their with super LC glue.
Miss Kara - welcome back, missed seeing you around the place. Hopefully your journey is short.
Crafty - glad to hear you are so positive. I taught myself how to cast off and cast on yesterday. I am all aglow with self pride thinking I am so smart! Hope you go well in your 3WW...
Alice - it is the small things......how's that chai ( it was you right? and not Forshelby who got the chai.... forgive me Dory moment).
AFM - you guys had me ROTFL with you not at you about the difference between "fall out" and EWCM..... I don't have anything to add, except thanks for making me see some lighter sides to tcc.
T hopes - how you doing? Any funny business to report?
Hi to everyone else, I won't go through individually - brain fog, battery running low on the lap top and I am busting!! Take care my sweets, and holding always in my heart.
Ric you little tinker how could you keep that news from us for so long !!!! shame on you ! no seriously I understand you completely bet you just waiting to mc again and think its not going to stick don't you ! WELL ITS NOT ALWAYS LIKE THAT ! you can have piece and be happy people do get healthy pregnancies after mc I for one am proof of that , so my girl congratulations and be kind to yourself we are so pleased on of the longtimers has a BFP !!!! YAY FOR MAY !
sorry ladies went a bit mad there but everywhere I look people are getting BFPS so I know I am due one real soon and so is everyone else you see we have to beleive it and it does happen !!!!
Murraycod your next after me and ferrals !!! ( only as we are testing before you )
Reet- Thanks for the link! I'll be checking that one out as soon as I finish on BB for the night. Not sure if I'll get any this month, but I like to do my research before I do anything, so it's good to have the info I need. I tried googling but I got frustrated easily, lol. I was trying to avoid having to order online, but since they're so expensive at Woolies, I might as well. I feel bad for saying this, but I'm so glad I'm not the only one who's had a crappy pharmacy experience, lol. Did you end up finding out why you were bleeding on clomid?? I also understand what you mean about being driven crazy by the TWW.... I'm on cd9 today and already BUSTING to test. Of course, that would be a waste of my one and only HPT, as I'm positive I haven't even O'd yet. LOL... I know logically it would be a huge waste, but I'm just so dang excited. Every month for the last 2 years I've been hoping for some kind of spontaneous bcp malfunction, so I feel like I've been at this for a lot longer than oh, 10 days. Hahaha.... Seriously though, try to get some sleep or you won't have any energy for more bd. No harm in getting in a few extra during the TWW to keep you too exhausted to even think! How many dpo are you?? I'll countdown with you, until I can countdown myself. Hehe
Possum Magic - Thanks for the opk advice, the chemist will be my last resort though after my strange paracetamol question experience.... lol
MsKara - I'm so sorry to hear about your grandma. That must have been awful. I myself never went to grief counselling, it might sound stupid but I kind of counselled myself. I just surfed the net endlessly searching for answers. I didn't find many, but I did find all of you, so it wasn't a complete waste of a couple of years.
Kit - I am so glad your bleeding has stopped! That's a great sign! Mine never did stop when I had my mc, just got heavier and heavier. It was so disheartening, and I just wanted to scream at my body to STOP. It didn't help having no support from DP, either. He was so busy being afraid of fatherhood, he forgot all about me. That was hard. Although your bleeding episode has brought back some memories, I still would never expect you to apologize for coming here for support. You can say whatever you need to say here, good or bad and I don't think a single woman on here would judge you for that. That's why I love this place so much. Keep us posted, and are you going to your u/s?? I'm glad I'm not the only one who would have wanted to go! You do what you feel is right, to hell with some random nurse.
Murraycod - Best of luck with your ET!! I can't wait to hear your pg announcement. I know it'll be coming very very soon. Just think, technically, you're pg right now!
Ric - Good luck with your u/s. Don't feel bad for not sharing the news sooner, I totally understand. And of course, CONGRATU-FREAKIN-LATIONS!!! so excited for you.
Dory - I'm so impressed that you learned to cast on and off. Those can be the hardest parts, I think. Pity they're the most vital, lol. Keep up with the knitting. Maybe we can start some kind of a knitting trend?
AFM, still having random and mild backpain. Other than that, all is good. No spotting, no nothing. Some slight headaches which I'm putting down to the lack of artificial hormones. Although it's hard to be sure because I am prone to headaches. If I'm hungry, extremely thirsty, stressed, subjected to loud noises for long periods, I get a headache. It's hard to pinpoint the cause, but for now I'm blaming bcp because I hate them. Yes, you heard me, little pills sitting in the garbage bin. You belong in there you horrible little pills! LOL.
I also have a question. Assuming I O on day 14-16 (pretty standard as I've always been very regular) what are the best days for BD? I was thinking day 12, 14 and 16 should do the trick nicely. Now I just have to find a way to attack DP 3 times in a week rather than the usual once. I've done pretty well so far, getting 2 in one week, and even one on a weeknight! (Is it bad that I'm only 25 and have grown accustomed to scheduled weekend only sex?? LOL) It might be time to bust out that lingerie again. Seems a waste when it comes off again so fast though................
