Trying to Conceive after Miscarriage or Loss ~ August 2010

forshelby - thanks... i like to think that i'm "softer but stronger" after this... that is a really nice way to put it. however i think i'm probably just a bit more "teary and manic" !

i'm just so surprised at how much i was knocked for 6 with what happened. i only knew i was pregnant for 1 week. we hadn't had an ultrasound or heard the hearbeat or told anyone or anything... it was really just the idea of a baby at that stage, but even just losing that broke my heart.

i'm worried that i'm so stressed that i won't ovulate again and that it will be a vicious cycle of stress, which then affects my body... but then i'm not even sure if that's medically correct ??

i was SO relieved when i got AF last week, i really thought that would be the end of a lot of the waiting/stress/feeling in limbo... but then i had a little mini meltdown last night.

i like the idea of planting something, i think i'll do that, thanks for the idea.

Damn I never seem able to keep up anymore lol.

Mum22- It could still be an early + I don't trust those particular ones anymore though, there seems to be a second line come up as the dye is travelling through and doesn't go away.... and no I'm not UTD lol, it ust seems to be the way they are atm. They were great when I was UTD with DS, got my first + with him though using them :)

Possum- How are you doing atm?

Lil'J- Never feel silly asking hun, we all need to find out one way or another :)

AFM- Feeling a lil overwhelmed atm. I am on cd16 and have the worst cramps, so bad I am doubling over in pain so it is hard for me to concerntrate and do everyones persies, instead I'm just going to go on about me and then feel guilty about it *sigh*

Gosh i have missed alot - anyway my DD got really sick yesterday afternoon she has had a cold all week then yesterday she couldn't breath and making horrible gasping sounds it was so awful i never want anything to happen like that again. we were at the hospital and she had steroids and Ventolin. they think she could be asthmatic or could be an infection. we are home now. it was soooooo scary. if anything ever happened to her i don't think i could live without her. she is everything to us. anyway she was feeling better this afternoon.

So i haven't had any time to go to the doctors to get blood tests - hoping to try and go tomorrow i want to know what my levels are. i have done a test everyday and the line came up today as soon as the urine went up the stick and it was late arvo and a bit diluted so :dance:

ive decided to be positive and make a ticker and try and enjoy this pregnancy ....well that's the plan i know ill be a nervous wreck waiting for the blood tests

how can you be so disciplined and 'hold off' doing a PT??
doesn't the waiting kill you?
is the only reason so you avoid finding out about chemical pregnancies?

i have lost count how many i have done while trying... starting as early as possible... sometimes 8DPO (wishful thinking i know) !

Hi girls, just an update....sorry I have only sped read this page and will go back thru and do personals later today,
AFM well, I had the strangest dream last night and I have been taking my temps during the night a couple of time for the past week so I just know my temp pretty much is the same within .10 of each other. Anyways, I took my temp at around 2 am after having an odd dream and it was 36.27 a full .3 off normal temps.... and I was having cramps.... so I quickly got up and did the undie change to black so that when AF did arrive I didnt have any ruined undies. Kept having strange dreams of a mega faded 2nd line. Got up this morning, took temp which was back to its normal 36.65 and thought WTF I will use the last couple of tests who gives a toss.....

Anyway, I test with FR and it has a 2nd line which you cannot see in some lights but it is there, it is so faded but it is not an evap line, it stayed on the test from the moment wee hit it to now 30 mins later and I do mean it is faded like the sort of line you imagine you have seen. But the lullaby test has the same faded second line (barely viewable and on first glimpse you would assume it only has one) and crystal clear has gotten darker and more blue in it that yesterday.

So I am fairly certain I have a just in its very early stages (about 3 weeks 3 days) and as a lot abort due to natural reasons during the 3rd week I will retest on Sat to see if it has continued. And if that were to come up + I will tell DH then and arrange for a BT early next week.

He he I'm actually in shock at the moment and unsure as to whether to believe it I think I am in denial and will believe it once I retest Sat (that will be 4 weeks or when Af due).

I keep checking the FR and its funny I keep having this thing where my heart misses a beat when I first see the test thinking I'm imagining it, then I look at the test in daylight and can see the faintest of faint second lines on it....like I am talking faint girls. It wouldnt even photograph!!

CONGRATS Mum22 sounds positive to me a line is a line! so excited for you :dance:

I will be due 30 April by FF which I agree with. Just blurted it out to DH and he said wait another couple of days... :) I'm not really good with surprises am I????

Oh I am going to make a recommendation to anyone who is thinking of testing early to get some Lullaby tests they are $10.95 for 10 and have given me this result at 10DPO at same time as first response and last pregnancy they gave me a + at 9DPO the same day as first response.

I think my dream and the temp drop woulda been the implantation of it overnight which is why the + today...tho they are sooooo faded like barely viewable I would not even think of showing DH he would think I am loony!!

My DP said the same thing - wait a week and see what happens. He didn't want me to test yet so haven't told him ive been POAS every day lol

i hope those lines get stronger and stronger - you can see them that's what matters woo hooooooo and its still early!

He he, I am completely in shock and have looked at the tests continually on and off to make sure that I am right....and I am they are def there..... Yay. I just hope it sticks.

I have AF like cramps at the moment, but FF says cramps at this stage are reported by 29% of preg charts, so I guess it is normal!!! wooo hoo. glad to be in the same BB group as you guys!!!!! I wont move ova yet tho...

i was convinced AF was coming with the cramps i was having so must be normal - i keep looking at mine too and still cant believe it!

Funny as Kell, it is just hilarious the things we have to put up with analyse and look at to confirm we are BFP.... he he. I think I feel the urge to POAS coming on this afternoon.... ;) I would have to go and buy more tho....what a waste of money... :( so I really shouldn't. I have one which isnt an early one left so I will keep that for in a few days time... I wont be admitting my addiction to POAS to DH

GlenGlen i like first response - i trust them and they always seem to give me the first BFP. i used a cyrstal clear with the blue lines but i didnt like it and i hated the cheapo internet ones they seem like duds to me

clairesmummy - Thanks hun, I'll keep you all posted on how the scan goes. If you O'ed yesterday then you're in with as good a shot as anybody, judging by your bd timing. Good luck!

Glenglen - It's ok to be teary and manic, it's all part of the process. It doesn't matter how early it was, a loss is a loss. Glad you liked my idea, too. I'm happy to have helped in any small way. I personally avoided testing before about 11dpo because I didn't want to waste money on seeing only one line. That's just me though. And I like the First Response Early Result (FRER) tests the best.

Damprye - It's always good to hear from you, and how else would we know what's going on with you if you didn't throw in a bit of me-ness? Or should I say you-ness. Hehe... I hope the cramps ease up for you!

Kellie - I hope your DD is ok! And that you get to go and have some bt's done so you can relax a little more. :)

Possum - Great news!!! Hopefully this is the end of all this horribleness and you can start to move forwards a little. Yay for no bleeding!

Mum22 - CONGRATULATIONS! I too had a weird dream the night before I got my BFP. I dreamt I took a test, but woke up before I got to see the result. So I POAS when I got up, and helloooooo two little pink lines. :) I knew my good feeling about you this month was right! Let us know how your re-test goes.

Iona - Hi, hun! I hope your tonsilitis goes away quicksmart! I'm lucky, I had mine taken out when I was a kid, so I can't get it anymore, but man, I know how much it sucks. :( Happy birthday for this week!

AFM, nothing new to report. 3 more days of work to go. Argh! A little bit of slight crampiness around my hip area again, seems like a stretchy kind of feeling, so I'm just going to be positive and assume (as usual) it's bubby making room in there.

Iona- Nothing worse than bad tonsils I still get it from time to time and it's horrible DR told me they would only take mine out if they become life threatening. AFM- Well I'm pretty sure I o'd the other day like I said but having huge problems with my temp chart I haven't had a rise in my temp as yet I'm just flat lining through it. I always have a rise...hmmmmm really don't understand whats going on with that. The CM I have now is a white creamy substance and not a fertile looking one at all. Just doing the whole waiting to see thing now, impatience is a virtue...lol...:wall: I see some of you lovely ladies in here have had some vivid dreams about POAS. Well if yahs don't mind a bit of me-ness can I please tell yahs about the dream I had 3 nights ago and please don't think I'm a total nutter when you read this...lol....
I lost my very best of best friends 17 years ago now and every so often I have a dream we are together again driving in her car and just having a great time like we used to but at the end of the dream i had the other night she handed a baby over to me. It was a really weird dream and I have no idea what it means and I just can't seem to shake the images form my head.

Clariesmummy- I hope the dream means a BFP coming your way.

Glenglen- This does seem to be a pretty positive month lol.

ForShelby- haha yeah a bit of me-ness isn't a bad thing but I never seem to be able to do persies these days.

AFM- I just got from the docs and am now REALLY hoping that O is late and that I havn't missed my chance. I know I was saying I want to get my health under control first.... but I got a clean bill of health LOL and my doc said that going off of my ultra sound, if I DTD at the right time I have a high chance of conception this month... I'm now on cd17 and I have been Oing between cd11 and 13 for my last few cycles (although still not sure about the one that I may have Od on cd21 ;)) and only just managed to get a BD in last night so probably too late but FX I'm running late or that by DTD on cd1 that I somehow managed to keep the spermies alive and travelling lol. Wishful thinking I know but I did get UTD with DS by DTD cd3 lol.
I do still want to lose the rest of the weight but that is for me now, not for my health :D

Glenglen - So glad to see you're feeling a little better. These ladies are so understanding and thoughtful, and it's wonderful to see a lift in your spirits. You're where you belong now :)

Clairesmummy - Yay for the next phase of my life :) I don't know about going shopping whenever I feel like it though, lol..... I'm just grateful to have DP supporting me, I couldn't bear to ask for money to go shopping. I'm still adjusting to the idea of being a 'kept woman', I think. I guess window shopping isn't out of the question, though! I know what your dream means, too. You're going to have a baby! lol.. seriously though, it doesn't sound weird at all to me. Perhaps your friend is trying to tell you something.

Welcome Glenglen... I am really sorry about your loss. Hopefully it won't be long until you are holding a little bubba in your arms. I use the internet cheapies (about $14 inc postage for 40 tests) and if it looks like a hint of a line i will buy a FRER.

Forshelby, I stopped work at 14 weeks PG with DS. I hated the feeling that i was bludging off DH (and still do!).. would love to do something from home but what!? I wish i had of done hairdressing or something that i could do from home.. ah well, one day!

Damprye, Fingers crossed this is your month! And yes it would be funny if everyone was in the same BB group... at least there is no 'awkwardness' while we get to know eachother!

Claire'smummy, interesting dream! It sure does sound like you are going to be given a gift..... BFP!!!??

Possum, good to hear the bleeding has stopped! After my last m/c i had a d&c then about three days later had a MASSIVE bleed and they discovered that i had 'retained product' even after the d&c!!! Luckily my body managed to get rid of it on it's own without needing another d&c but i was SO OVER seeing blood and so happy when it finally stopped and i could move on... good luck to you x

Mum22, Congratulations!! I POAS heaps when i am PG too! You never get tired of seeing the two lines instead of the one!!

Kellbell, FX you have good strong levels! I don't like the Crystal Clear ones either... they are the only ones i've ever had evap lines with.

Hello to everyone else!

I had my appointment with the Gynie today (testing for recurrent miscarriage) and all went well (i think!). All my blood tests came back normal, except i had to have an extra one today too, but if that comes back normal than i guess i was just unlucky! He wants me to see my GP the minute i get my next BFP for extra monitoring so that's a positive... I did POAS (FRER) this morning and got a BFN, i am still not due for AF til Friday but i think if i was PG i would have got a BFP by now... what do you ladies think? I could have sworn i was having some symptoms but i know how easy it is to imagine things!!

Clairesmummy- Ooohh i hope u caught that eggy! Dont u hate it when ur body isnt telling u what its doing tho. Will u be testing early or wait it out??

Glenglen- Glad ur feeling a bit happier :) i only ever use FR hpts.. it gave me a clear bfp 9-10dpo so u cant go wrong with them!

Damprye- Hope u caught that eggy. If not then i really hope next month will be ur month.. especially now that ur fighting fit and healthy!

Kellbell- I think im going to be the same as u.. keep buying tests just to see the positive come up! :) Good luck with bts tomoro.. are u just checking hcg levels? or progesterone as well?

Forshelby- Yay for only having 3 days of work left! Are u really looking forward to getting out of there now???! And dont feel like ur using dps money if u want to buy something! just remember u have an extremely hard job as well! ofcourse dont waste money on really unnecessary things but im sure ur dp wont mind if u want to occasionally buy a new top or something! I do get what u mean tho.. but just do little extra things like wash dps car or bake yummy cakes for him etc. so he will really appreciate the fact ur at home all day! (oooh i want to be a stay at home pg lady!!) Dh and I have shared money since day 1 so im kinda glad it wont feel like im taking all of his.. we have the one bank account so he wont even know when i take money out!! :)

Mum22- Ohhhh how exciting! So are u really going to wait til sat to do another test or will u continue testing each morning?? ;) i reckon stick with FR's.. they gave me a clear line at 9-10 dpo. If u do continue to test i hope that line gets darker for u! AFM- Well i had my bt yesterday and got the results today.. my hcg level is 152. My midwife said thats good considering it is so early still. She said to wait til thurs to get the 2nd one done so ill find out that result on friday then i will know how things are really going! Hopefully great! :)
I have made a ticker.. i think it will do me good to see it everyday when i log on! My last af was 17th july so according to that i shld be 4 wks and 3 days but since i Oed on about day 17-18 im only just on 4 weeks now.. i decided to make my ticker based on that.. i hate losing those 3 days but i think i wld much rather that then go to scans and be told im behind or get bts done and my levels not be perfect for where i am.
Im not feeling any different, but it is still very early and my levels arent that high yet.. i cant wait for the m/s to kick in!! Actually i am feeling a little constipated.. it feels like im always going to the toilet to push out one little kangaroo pebble!! haha sorry TMI!

Dont give up stoked i didn't get my BFP till 4 days after AF was due last week. I thought i was out as thought it would have shown up earlier but it just took awhile (too long for my liking but hey it came). Its never over till AF is here ;)

Reet those levels sound great. wish i had done mine yesterday. def going to check progesterone as with my first m/c in 2008 the hcg was great but the progesterone was like 8 and then i lost it.

Kellbell- Really looking forward to hearing ur results! Hurry up and go give blood!! :) they hadnt gotten my progesterone levels back in when i called today.. my midwife yesterday said call her in the arvo today to get results so come 12pm on the dot i called! haha. i was too embarrassed to ring back later on to get progesterone levels.. guess ill get them when i call on friday for next bt results.
So happy to hear ur dd is feeling better.. i cant begin to imagine how scary it wld be for u and ur dp...and her. Being a mummy is so stressful! ..even right before conception! :)

Reet- I'm going to try and hang out until well after AF is due, I'm not sure when she is due though I'm usually only have a 26 day cycle but last month it was 34 days after I got a very faint positive PG test then went back to negative in a few days. :wall: But in saying that I do still have 2 POAS here so I may say I'm gunna wait but we all know that there's a good chance I won't...lol....
I'm pretty sure my friend is telling me something but I'm just not sure what. So Forshelby please feel free to tell me what my dream means and thanks for not thinking I'm a total loose cannon....lol.....:shhh:

Goodluck with tests Stoked, I hpe they all come back good for you and you get your BFP which sticks very very soon. You could still be too early tho to get a + as Reet said I agree with that. Kell was feeling like she was out and then got her BFP which is awesome.

Reet, dont get the U/S til closer to 8 weeks as the HB develops between 6 and 7 weeks and a lot dont develop them until very early in the 7th week and if you get the US too early and no HB it will leave you stressed out for a week. That is my advice. I had it happen first pregnancy and was devastated for a week and as a result didnt have one until 8 weeks with DD2 and there was a HB and no stress. :) that is if you can hold out til then sweetie!!

AFM I have had a temp rise this morning from PO temps past 10 DPO have been in the range of 36.52-36.62 and todays is 36.75 so woot for that!! I have given in and POAS this morning and the second line is still very very faded but I 'think' slightly darker?? Hoping it sticks. It is still very very faded!!!! Has me a little bit concerned, but I am trying to block out negative thoughts :)

Well i tested this morning but i am only 7-8dpo after my curette and i o'd a few days late so i got a BFN........but i will retest later.......i am feeling really sick though, headachy, my boobs feel massive, my stomach feels heavy, im getting dull pains all the time in my stomach. My toilet stops have changed. peeing more. snuffly nose, lower constant back ache, vivid dreams, flushes.....so hopefully there are too many symptoms to make up in my head and read to much into :)

The only thing is i have this small lump thing thats at the base of my skull to the right hand side were the nobble bits are....i normally get pain there when my necks out...it feels a little swollen like a lump...so whether it has to do with my neck and the headaches?????? i dont know....im grasping at straws.....maybe im pregnant and its the relaxant and my neck has gone out..

I hate the wait.......

Melster- FX for your test that you get your BFP darl. I'm also doing the waiting game but Im only 3DPO. I'm going to try and wait for AF to arrive or if she doesn't I will test after our next campdraft in just over 3 weeks time, if I can hold out that long. Sending lots of sticky vibes to everyone of us doing the dreaded waiting game. ;) ;)

I POAS again this morning and it was another BFN... I have always gotten positives at 9-10 DPO so i think we are out for this month... but that is OK, i am really in no great hurry, still enjoying my bubby boy.

Reet, Bons, Kell - it is sooooooooooo good to see your tickers/bfp's. If I haven't said it yet CONGRATULATIONS.

Forshelby - good to see yours coming along too 10 weeks is AWESOME..... those pains sound exactly like the hormones relaxin and progesterone doing exactly as they should be, provided it's around your hips. My obs says those pains can be felt from 8 weeks, just most people are lucky enough not to feel them... I felt them from 8. Like Mum22 said I hate feeling like I am bumming off DH too, but you need to change your thinking.... your job now is to gestate that little bubba, and that is far more important than $ OR ego. If you repeat it often enough you might actually get rid of any guilt or boredom.

Iona - rest up sweetie. Tonsilitis and bubba on board is VERY tiring for you. I had chronic tonsilitis for years, so def know how you feel... unless you've got m/s on top of all of that. Sending you big big hugs.

Hiya to everyone else. Just dropping in for a lurk and a whinge. Am having a bit of a funk at the mo. Have a cluster of symptoms that might mean bubs will come early as well as being uncomfortable for me ( although this is the least of my worries). Have to wait til tomorrow for my next appointment ( last appointment was yesterday), and then see what the plan is. I was so so cranky the other day ( which is one of the symptoms and really out of character for me) but realised that maybe it was because bubs wasn't moving with their usual vigor... and that thought process just sent me into a spiral of thinking it was all happening again. So guess I wanted to share, as overjoyed as I am to be UTD, for me, I am not sure the worry ever ends and some days it just feels as if I am perched on a precipice and I can fall off in the blink of an eye. Am just hoping that things are ok. Good news is bubs seems ok, as best anyone can tell. So really, that is good news and I should just focus on that.

Dory just give the bubbs a good poke when not very active :) I did that quite a bit with DD2 to the point where she would kick at me when I did. But it made me feel better that she was okay :) Poor muffin, DH said she would have probs thanks to me poking her. She has a temper but I dont think that is a result of me poking her!!

Dory - OMG 35 days to go....where has the days/weeks gone?? Don't have m/s just really bad nausea, yesterday was the first day that I could actually eat properly!!
