Where there's hope-- to the thread. I'm so sorry to hear of your sad loss! I wish I could help you out with your questions. Honestly, I'm not sure what Trisomy is (though I'm going to do some research after this), so I'm not sure if there would be any reason to wait. I was very much in the same position where my doc told me to wait 2 months, but after tons of research I wasn't able to find any medical reason as to why I had to wait that long. I think in most cases it's a women's personal choice as to when she's ready to ttc again. Have you had all the blood work and pathology done to try to figure out a possible answer as to why you m/c? In my case I decided not to follow doc's orders and started ttc right away, but haven't fallen pg again yet, so my body must have not been ready. I know for me it will happen when it's supposed to, but it sure is hard waiting for my body to catch up with my brain! Huge luck to you, hun, whatever you decide. I pray your ttc journey is a short one!


plc--I'm curious, what's the treatment for problems with the kidneys and spleen, and how do they know if they're not working as they should? Do you have to take special herbs or something?


AJC--How's DH' s any good news? Can it change depending on what he's eating, or vitamins, etc..?

I have been seeing an acupuncturist since Feb. When I first got there, he tested my energy channels. These are (very basically) energy lines that run vertically through ur body and which touch or affect vital organs, etc. My acupuncturist worked out that my lungs, liver, spleen and kidney energy channels were very weak. So he inserted little needles into my skin (they are really tiny) at the ends of the relevant energy channels. The idea is that the needles cause the brain to create a response to the spot where the needle is. The blood is that response and is supposed to clear the blockage in that energy channel and promote strength to the organs in question. So a few sessions of that showed that the energy channels were unblocking and therefore strength was being restored. The reason the acupuncturist knows it's not working in the first place is because he presses certain parts of your skin along these energy channels and if the sensation is a sharp pain then there is a blockage or weakness in the energy channel. So I went from feeling sharp pain to tenderness to feeling no pain at all. When the acupuncture alone is not working, the acupuncturist may prescribe some herbs to kick things along and to work on the energy levels the same way that the acupuncture does.

This is a very crude description of the treatment - it has helped me enormously. Chinese medicine is a very different philosophy to Western medicine but my acupuncturist works also in conjunction with an IVF clinic and they have found the success rate for IVF used with acupuncture jumps from 60%(approx) without ap to 90%(approx) with ap.

I'm happy to answer any questions re my treatment but I don't want to force it upon anyone. I just hope it might help other people like it has helped me.

Hi All -
Jen - the extension is going great - they've done so much this week it's amazing watching how fast it's coming together. The concrete was poured on tuesday for the foundations, brickies came in on Wednesday morning - 3 hours later we had piers, the builders were back yesterday and we now have a floor. They're now waiting on the frame to be built and should be back into it by Monday or Tuesday and say they'll have it to lock up by next Friday.
AF has gone, hopefully for a long time, my cycle seems out of whack at the moment. I have been temping for a few months and for the last two days my temp has sky rocketed. Not sure what that means, but should be too early for O? Maybe something to do with the tamoxifen

Where's there hope - sorry for your losses and so sorry you had to join us, but glad you found us. The ladies on here are wonderful with their support.

My first children have just arrived for the day so i'll sprinkle some around and get stuck into some work. Oh Well, at least it's Friday and the weekend is ahead. Have a great day

Good morning and thanks to everyone for welcoming me!

plc1805 - CONGRATULATIONS on your recent BFP and thanks for your thoughts. I am very interested in trying accupuncture and I am taking an interesting concoction of vitamins, the most recent be the addition of Coenzyme Q10. When I spoke to my OB about his thoughts on this new wonder drug (thought to be good for sperm produciton and egg quality) and accupuncture he was quite unsupportive. He said if this stuff worked he would have all his patients doing it. He is also against our doing IVF. His hard stand has been a little difficult for DH and I to swallow as we are a little fragile after our two losses in six months. We need something to hold on to, a new direction. Did your naturopath give you anything for your kidneys or talk about fluid intake?

jen805 - we did have our little one tested and the results of the karotyping were inconclusive as they were 46XX (a normal female) and my OB says half the time after a D&C they do not know whether they tested my maternal tissue or the baby's (sorry TMI). My GP is wonderful and has kindly allowed me to have a full host of blood tests run, even though I am technically not in the recurrent miscarriage bracket yet (which is why my OB would not do them). I will find out in a couple of weeks if there might have been something going on with me.
