Yes mine are slightly different sizes but within about 2-3 days of each other, some times they are the same, I guess they just grow at different rates. I get regular scans to keep an eye on their growth, it's standard procedure with identicals I believe. As they share a placenta, so they have more risk of the twin to twin transfusion. Where as non identicals will have a placenta each, it's not so risky.

Thanks for that Shereen, I would really love to breast feed my twins, but I'll just take each day as it comes. It won't be the end of the world if they end up getting bottle fed. I made that mistake with my first, he was Jaundice so the midwifes were keen to flush it out of his system, as my milk wasn't in they said give him a bottle and after that he wouldn't latch on to the boob. I was soooo disappointed and got myself all stressed out over it, I won't let that happen again it's not worth getting stressed over.

I know what u mean. I went nuts when I was told that I had to stop. It was really something I wanted to do for my children but after I got a good lecture from my doctor I realized that it's not the end of the world and that at last I tried my best. After a while u get usedto the fact that with twins nothing is ever by the standards and it's always a special case. It's gets annoying at times but it's the reality of the situation and u just have to learn to accept and live with it.

Thats great to hear stories about breast feeding as I to had problems with it with my first baby I tried and tried but she wasn't putting on enough weight so I had to think about her and I put her on the bottle once I got over it and it wasn't the end of the world she flourist into a beautiful little girl, but I felt like I was getting judge from some of the nurses when I took her in to get weighed and measured. I will once again try my best to breast feed the twins I am abit nervous about it, would you recomend to see a specialist. I hope I will have enough milk this time coz my BBs feel so hugh.

Kawazuki how did you go today?

Mon how are you going? hope everyhting is going great.

I have a question for you mums and to be mums when did you start feeling movement and also start showing? Also I have found that my hair is falling out, like alot but has started to slow down now. I can't remember if that happened with my first pregnancy.

    Thanks

It is great to see a bit more action in the twins section here!!

I breastfed/comp fed my twins for 3 months. I wish I could have gone longer, but I did the best job I could do in that time. If you are planning on breast feeding look into twin feeding pillows, helped me a lot. I also had a double electric pump as I was always trying to get more milk to feed two mouths.

Azzrenae you asked about seeing a specialist - perhaps when you are in hospital you could request a lactation consultant come and visit you. I had two visits from a lactation consultant while in hospital which helped me to understand how to attach the twins properly.

As far as the horror stories go it is hard but try not to read them or take too much notice if someone tells you of one. You always seem to hear the bad stories of twins that were born really early etc. Not all twin pregnancies are bad. I had a wonderful pregnancy, sure it was rather uncomfortable at times at the end, and yes I vomited more times than I care to remember but I had a problem free pregnancy. Our biggest issue was the size difference between them at one stage but by the time they were born they were almost the same size. My twins were born at 38 weeks weighing 6lb 4oz and 6lb 8oz and perfectly healthy, so not all twin pregnancies end in premature labour and tiny babies, try and remeber that next time someone decides to tell you a horror story!

Oh i so agree with Kate...i had a perfectly normal pregnancy. I had an elective C-section and chose to give birth at 37 weeks and were good birth weights (2kg and 2.5kg) and now they are even a few kilos overweight!!

not every pregnancy is the same be it a single pregnancy or multiples. each carrier (the mommy) has a different body and therefore different results. just take it easy and donlt over exert yourself especially in your first trimester.

AS for movement and showing....it all happened around 5months. keep in mind though that around the begining of your 3rd trimeater you will be huge and people will automatically assume that you are due any day!!!

    enjoy your pregnancies ladies!!!
