I really wanted a natural birth with no drugs and my doula supported that, but on the day I was really glad that she was able to support the decisions I made to have pain relief (gas) and to make me feel like I made the best decisions i could at the time, I would make sure that your doula will genuinely support any decision you make, you don't need to feel like you are under pressure not to let her down. Having said that the doulas job is to give you unconditional support you and i think you'd find that most can. I'd just make sure that you feel you can trust her and go with your instinct.
