We had our reception at an Ex-services club. It was fantastic. Alot of people have their recptions at clubs. Although it only cost us around $20-30 pp, we had 100 guests, three course meals and then put $1000 over the bar for beer and wine (albeit 7yrs ago now). My advice is ring around a few of the different clubs in the area and compare prices. For $90 a head you should have a choice of quite a few different venues around Canberra, although at least you already know that the food at the Raiders is decent.

Just thought I would add, my sister had her first wedding (the English wedding) in a park in London followed by a lunch in their local pub, and the second wedding (the australian version for us Aussies ) in her PIL's backyard - everyone loved them and she got to celebrate twice!

Only if they get good feedback and if many people have functions there. Oh and do they supply music or do i have to hire a DJ?
