Wedding photography

Hi gals.

I have posted this question in the 'art and photography' forum, but thought I might post it here as well.

I am doing a favour for a friend and taking the pictures at her mums wedding in 10 days.

I don't think they want the kinda pictures that a younger couple might get, and I was just wondering if anyone has any hot tips for the kinda photos an older couple might want? Anyones mum get married recently? Or anyone get married for a second time and not one professional photos as such but just nice photos to remember their day?

I am kinda struggling a bit with picture how these might turn out.

I havent been to a wedding of an "older" person myself but I do know of a couple of older weddings in the past few years and have seen their wedding photos. Not to be too stereotypical but it seems like older people seem to favour Garden shots, quite often at their own house before the wedding takes place. I havent really seen any photos of older couples at places like beaches, historic buildings or any real arty shots if that makes sense?

What I have seen is that they tend to favour more traditional style photos, lots of family shots too outside the church/wherever they are getting married. Photos of the couple with champagne glasses and toasting one another seem to be popular with older couples too.

Oh and none of the bride in her lingerie!

Why not make an "appointment" with her mum, and actually ask her if there are any shots she particularly wants?

Flattering shots are ones taken from behind with head turning back etc that show off the back of the dress.
