I take that as no presents are required. Some people will turn up with presents, but it's not necessary to do so. Maybe just a card?
As for the child minding, I don't think you'd be too pushy if you ask them again. Like you said, if child minding isn't available/organised, then that's one less seat they have to pay for at the reception.

I would assume that no gift is required going by that invite!

I would also persist on getting confirmation about what to do with Jack so you know what you are going to do with him and also they need to know for numbers. I would assume that they wouldn't be too pleased if your place stayed empty and the food was wasted if you RSVP'd you will be coming but then didn't go to the reception.

TBH for the child minding i would ring, rather then email

Email is just so easy to brush aside and no answer whereas the phone is istant, there is no if and buts about the phone

Our guests had to travel to our wedding so we said the same thing but still got some presents. I would just give them a card- a couple of people didn't give us anything including a card and I thought that was a bit odd personally.

Yep, they are not expecting people to bring gifts unless they really want to (usually it`ll be family etc that still do).

Please get in touch and clarify about the childminding for you and them.
At my wedding we arranged childcare and specifically invited children by names on invites. The rsvps were returned indicating that children would be attending, so we went ahead with our plans to cater for the kiddies, and then on the day most of the parents left their kids at home , only for about half of those to make comments to us later in the day like " oh, little johnny would have loved this..."

thanks girls so emailig groom at work worked well sought of this is the reply I got

bride has been talking to a lady about child care and has it pencilled in, however we need to confirm with her.
We will let you know when we find out the details.

what to do...well they know I iwont come to reception if nothing definate has been arranged can't do much more than that can I...if anyone knows a good babysitter on stradbroke island please let me know

I am so freaked about leaving him this has been playing on my mind since they got engaged last year
