What was your fave thing of the day? Hearing my husband say how much he loved me in front of so many people.

What would you have changed if anything? Tightened my lace up dress before the waltz so I didn't feel like I was going to stand on it.

Where did you get married? We got married in Cairns; both DH and I grew up there. The ceremony was in a church, my DH's grandfather married us. The reception was in the ballroom at the Shangri-la hotel on the esplanade.

Did you have a wishing well or gift registry? or presents? Gift registry

How many bridesmaids did you have? what dresses did they wear? 2 bridesmaids, my little sister and my best friend since highschool. They wore sage green, long, strapless dresses.

What were your table centre pieces? Native flower arrangements.

Did you have a bonbonierrie? if so what was it? yes, I made little fold up boxes printed with leucodendrons (flowers) and the guests names (doubled as place cards) and filled them with hand made truffles that a chef friend of mine made for us.

What did you invites look like? did you make them or get them made? Invites were long and thin. They were green like the bridesmaids dresses and had a leucodendron on them. The writing was on a transparent cover that was pinned over the top. I made them too.

Did you have a real or fake boquet? what flowers were they? Real flowers, natives. Mostly proteas and leucodendrons. My boquet was in creamy colours and the bridesmaids were in pinky red shades.

Anything else you would like to add feel free or even add photos. The link below goes to my facebook wedding photo album.

Ours was very DIY - I made the dress, the veil and the cake. DH made our cake stand, the beer that we served during the ceremony, the money house for our donations. We did the invites together, and did our own music by putting together a playlist and having our own sound equipment.

What was your fave thing of the day?
    Cartwheels in my wedding dress!

What would you have changed if anything?
    My hairdresser

Where did you get married? church? garden? registry office? eloped?
    Beach at sunset

Did you have a wishing well or gift registry? or presents?
Donations to our sponsored child in Africa

How many bridesmaids did you have? what dresses did they wear?
One, my sister. Dress that I didn't see until the day! Apple green with embroidered organza applique to match my dress. One flowergirl, who was sensational.

What were your table centre pieces?
We had a ****tail reception, so no tables

Did you have a bonbonierrie? if so what was it? No.

What did you invites look like? did you make them or get them made?
Green metallic backing, with pearlised paper. Child's drawing of us with our names on left side, details on right. Strips of tulle from my veil tied around the middle.

Did you have a real or fake boquet? what flowers were they?
Real. Fresh organic flowers from a local farm, and it was an enormous bouquet, but got so many comments!

What was your fave thing of the day?
celebrating our love with our friends and family. we had the most awesome reception!

What would you have changed if anything?
nothing that i can think of - was pretty damn good day

Where did you get married? church? garden? registry office? eloped?
Garden at DH's besties place - which is where we initially met - so it was noice AND it had meaning

Did you have a wishing well or gift registry? or presents?
wishing well but asked for vouchers for Bunnings rather than cash - we had moved in together and had two houses full of stuff so we were sorting and getting rid of stuff so didn't need to add more - the house was in desperate need of painting and stuff, so we got the vouchers for that - got the pain for the whole house (inside and the trims out), as well as fencing material. we've just been renovating slowly!

How many bridesmaids did you have? what dresses did they wear?
two - my SIL and one of my friends. both wore deep blue dresses - i just picked the color and sent them shopping together. they hired as both figured they'd never wear them again. i was planning on wearing a silver dress that friend was going to make, but SIL found a dress similar in design in white, and got me to try it on - fell in love with it so that was that! the dress had lots of embroidery and beading on sleeves, bodice and train - loved it to bits!

What were your table centre pieces?
    glass bowls with floating candles

Did you have a bonbonierrie? if so what was it?
CD of the music from our wedding per couple, and chocolate hearts for everyone

What did you invites look like? did you make them or get them made?
i made the invites myself - DH's brother passed away only days after we became engaged and we were caught up in something of a horrible legal catastrophe for months so making our invites was my stress relief! they were the same blue as the girls dresses, A4 folded in three. on the inner middle panel was the invite in either gold or silver with contrast pins holding them in - on the left panel was a little pocket containing RSVP card and wishing well poem

Did you have a real or fake boquet? what flowers were they?
real - the bridesmaids had 18 white roses each - as DH and I got married on the 18th - i had a mixture of red and white roses - 14 red (we got together on valentines day) and 16 white (engaged on june 16). i had red roses in my hair, the girls had white. DH a red rose on his lapel and silver "kerchief" - the groomsmen white rose and gold "kerchief"

    Anything else
we had three child attendants - our two nieces and nephew - the girls were in white dresses with gold stars on them, our nephew in black pants, white shirt and a gold vest - he was our ring bearer (unofficially - we didn't give him the ACTUAL rings cos he was only 3!) - silver and gold cushion embroidered with our names and date of marriage. eldest niece carried a purple and yellow rose as part of our ceremony had us exchanging roses

cake - we had chocolate mud muffins for everyone to take home themselves and one larger cake that we cut. had a crystal moon and star topper. all the tables had blue gold and silver star and moon sprinkles on them.

our reception was awesome - had a band playing and we all just chilled out. was fantastic. we've been asked each year since our wedding when we're getting married again so that we can throw another kick ass reception!

Well, we aren't married yet, but our wedding is in August so not long to go. Some of our ideas....
My dress is black and white. I'm having 2 bridesmaids who'll be wearing black. There will be 3 flower girls. DF is having just the 1 groomsman. We're getting married in a garden and our reception is at the same venue in a marquee. Our flowers are going to be ruby red roses and our centrepieces will be tall cylinder vases with a bunch of red roses on a mirror with tealights surrounding it. I've made the invitations which are square, the bottom layer is black, the middle layer is a black damask patterned paper and the top layer with the writing is a bright white. There is a black satin ribbon with a diamonte buckle around the top too. Our bonbonniere is going to be toblerone bars wrapped with the same paper as the invites with the guests name printed on one side to double as the placecard. Can't wait. Here are a few pics of a few things so far.
