Saw the MCHN this morning. Blake now weighs 6.06kg and is 61cms long... can't remember his head measurement, but he's still doing great, although he no longer can boast being a 90% boy, he's slipped down to 75% he he he!
We also spoke about sleep patterns (obviously in a perfect world). She said - and I thought I'd share it with you guys to see if anyone's got the 'perfect' baby. LOL! She suggested that at 2 months (which Blake is) they should be awake for about 1.25 hours (including feeding time) before heading back to bed, and even if they are not showing any 'tired signs - yawning, grizzling etc - to put them into bed so they can have some quiet time in comfortable, familiar surroundings so when they soon get tired, then fall asleep happily.
Well I don't know how this will work - Blake's generally up for about 2 hours when he starts to get tired, so it's then that I put him to sleep. Mind you he's been having shocking days the last two days. I wonder if he's overtired and can't get himself to sleep or to stay asleep for too long?
Before we left to go to the MCHN he'd slept for about 40 mins and woke up by himself. Unfortunately I couldn't settle him as we had to go, but since he's been home, and he was tired when we arrived, he had a feed and went straight to bed. He snoozed, then grizzled for about 20 minutes while he was getting some wind up. Since then (about 11.30am) he's been in bed, pretty much sleeping. He's woken with a slight grizzle a couple of times but putting his dummy back in as put him back into a deep sleep.
I guess I'll see how the MCHN's sleep pattern works with Blake - as much as I can with a school aged child and a household to run, but I guess it's something I can keep in mind.
Questions for the group I'd love everyones thought/comments on...
Do you worry about your baby becoming too dependant on their dummy?
What time does your baby have their last feed for the evening? How long on average do they sleep?
